"Both the first and second years have been split up into four groups-" Aizawa explained as the lot of you stood on the outside of the ruins zone of USJ. "-each group has been assigned a shape, your matching shape in the other grade is your opponent."
"We are the triangle?" Mineta pointed to the flag flapping in the wind standing off to the sidelines.
"Yeah." Aizawa nodded. "There are the triangle, squares, circles and stars."
"It's the first years against the second!" Sero realized.
"How to win-" Aizawa went on, "-the second year's will be considered villains, they will have a number of hostages, your job is to collect the hostages and contain the villains."
"Sounds easy enough!" Kaminari grinned.
"How you lose-" Aizawa's lazed voice bulldozed over Kaminari's confidence. "-is if the villains can capture just half of you, then they win."
"Alright!" Kirishima pumped his fist, "All we gotta do is not get caught and rescue the good guys! We got this!"
"Yeah!" Mina, Toru, and Sero agreed cheering. You rolled your eyes; it was always easier said than done.
"(y/n)-" Aizawa called you over. "-you have to wear these." He pointed to a familiar wooden box resting by his feet.
"Aw come on!" Kaminari groaned, "That's cheating!"
"No, it's not." Aizawa replied as you slipped on the weights to both ankles. "This is the requirement required by the teachers for them to allow their students to participate in this exercise."
"But its restricting (y/n)-!"
"That's the point." Aizawa answered watching you stand.
"It's fine." You turned to Mina and Kirishima who protested. "I get it."
"We don't!" Your class bickered back.
"(y/n) has years of experience over all of you combined, that includes the second years. This just makes it a little more fair." Aizawa explained, "Now if your done whining, you can head inside and find your flag that looks like this-" He pointed to the green flag above, "-once you are there the horn will signal to start."
"Why do we need to find a flag?" Jiro asked.
"Because it gives the second years' time to prepare for you." Aizawa smirked, causing his students to grin in exchange.
"We won't let you down Mr. Aizawa!" Mina pointed to him as she followed her class through the double doors.
"You never do." Aizawa mumbled, watching the doors slowly close behind his students.
----
"So-!" Mina wiggled her eyebrows at you.
"The fuck is wrong with your face?" You questioned her, making Mina laugh. Class A stood around the green flag waving the triangle shape waiting for the horn to sound. You sat on a crumbled rock relaxing your muscles.
"-how did training with the second years go?" Mina inquired, baiting the hook.
"Fine." You shrugged your shoulders. "Nothing to crazy."
"That explosion we heard says something totally different!" Kirishima walked over, "I'm pretty sure it shook the ground!"
"That was wasn't me." You leaned back on your arm.
"Huh!?"
"Kage was the one who made that."
"S-Seriously!?"
"Speaking of Kage-" Toru leaned closer to you, "-what went down between the two of you!?"
Bakugo's ear perked hearing the question.
"What are you talking about?" You asked.
"When we got to the flood zone-" Mina sly smirk, "-you two seemed to be...conformable."
"Not really." You thought back to the fight, "He was a pain in the ass."
"Really!?" Mina excitedly scooted closer to you.
"Yeah." You nodded, "He was the only one who could get through my water quirk and reach me."
"I love that!" Mina shook her head blushing.
"Why?" You wondered, not following.
"You're so blissfully dense!" Toru hugged your head to her chest.
"He really did a number on your neck." Momo pointed to the bruise.
"Doesn't bother me." You yawned.
"How can it not!?" Kirishima worriedly asked causing a mischievous grin to cross your face.
"I like it rough." You answered, smiling amused as you watched the cherry red faces of your classmates.
----
"We need to find the hostages!" Kirishima looked around at all the crumbling buildings after the horn sounded.
"They could be anywhere." Sero groaned.
"Looks like we need to split up." Shoto suggested.
"I don't like that idea." Toru commented, "That makes it easier for the second years to pick us off."
"Ha!" Bakugo craned his head to gaze in her direction, "Splitting up only makes it easier for us to pick them off!"
"That's not a solid plan man." Kirishima sighed. "We need to think this through."
"We need to at least scout the area." You spoke up seeing how clueless your class appeared, "We should split up for a couple minutes, survey the area then meet back up here. Toru is right, we are stronger as a group so that's how we should split up. We need to find where the second years are, they will most likely have the hostages close by."
"Now that's a good plan!" Kirishima pointed to you. "Great job (y/n)!" You shrugged, this felt like second nature, this was simple routine with Shiro and Gray.
"Alright-!" Mina bounced off the rock you were sitting on. "-let's split up into teams of two and get crackin'!"
Class A agreed to the plan. Shoto, Midoriya, Kirishima, and Bakugo all turned to grab you as their partner.
"I guess we will be the one group of three!" Toru giggled, clinging to your left arm as Mina wrapped her arm around your free side.
"Wh-What!?" Kirishima gasped, how did they grab you so fast!?
"We are gonna hit up this area-!" Mina pointed, "-we will meet back in ten minutes, alright?"
"Let's go!" Toru jumped excitedly.
"H-Hey-!" Kirishima called, "-wait for us to-" Mina and Toru were already dragging you away. "-ah never mind." Kirishima sighed, shaking his head.
Mina, Toru and you climbed over the bones of fallen buildings.
"Where should we check?" Toru wondered.
"Well-" You pointed out how most of the building were in bad condition, it would be foolish to use those since they didn't know how strong the foundation was. The building could come collapsing down onto them or the hostages. "-those two looks like the best choices."
"Ok-!" Mina nodded, jogging to the left one. "-I'll check this one and you guys go over there!"
"We are not supposed to split up!" Toru harshly whispered.
"Whatever." You didn't see the harm in Mina wondering off by herself for a little while. If anything you would hear something and come running. "Looks like your stuck with me again."
"There's not another person I would rather be stuck with than you!" Toru grinned.
"Aw." You smirked as Toru followed you into the brown building holding three floors.
"Where do you think they would be?" Toru whispered as the two of you quietly crept through the halls.
"Probably upstairs." You answered.
"Why not the basement?"
"Why would they be in the basement?" You wondered.
"Because ah...well..."
"You watch too much tv." You joked, "The basement is unrealistic, it's a trap waiting to happen. If the villains were to be caught while inside the basement there would be no place for them to run."
"But on the top floors...?" Toru tried to figure out, "...there would be?"
"Yeah." You breathed, "They could jump out a window, or move up a floor to get distance between them and the authorities."
"You're really good at this." Toru mentioned.
"Yeah." You agreed, "I have been doing this a while."
"When you were with..." Toru trailed off.
"Yeah?" You confirmed, knowing what she was trying to ask.
"Did you...have you ever hurt anyone?" Toru's voice was just barely above a whisper.
"I don't hurt innocent people." You answered, turning to look back at her.
"But-"
"That's why I was always locked up." You turned around hearing the silence thicken. "I'm never going to do anything to hurt you or anyone in the class."
"I-I know." Toru's breath sounded shaky, "You proved that the night the league of villages attacked the summer camp."
"I did?"
"You almost died protecting me." Toru breathed, "I...I am sorry I wasn't more useful to you."
"You did what you could." You licked your lips, "Looking back now, I'm sorry."
"You-You're sorry!?"
"I should have made you and Yui run while I held them off."
"No!" Toru grasped your arm. "That for sure would have killed you, and you (y/n) are worth fighting for! We are a class after all, we are a team we stand beside each other and help one another."
"Toru-" You felt your heart tingle,
"Aw-" A voice snapped your head around. "-so cute!" Three figures came into view.
"I almost choked up." Another mocked.
"Oh, look my three biggest fans-" You called to the three students from UA's gymnasium; you locked your eyes with the orange-haired boy who shot you with lightening. "-I gotta bone to pick with you pumpkin spice."
