"Ugh-" An unpleasant sigh escaped the lips of a two-foot something man who held the head of a white-haired mouse. He made his way around the hospital, looking up at the room numbers place beside the doors. "-ah." He nodded walking into the correct room.
"Mr. Principle?" Midnight called, flicking her hospital TV off.
"Hello Midnight, how are you feeling?"
"I keep telling the staff here I'm fine-" Midnight dramatically waved her hand, "-I'm waiting for the doctor to discharge me."
"Wonderful." Mr. Principle nodded,
"How is Aizawa?" Midnight wondered; he used his eraser quirk on Shadow Jack for a long period of time so the authorities could properly restrain the villain.
"He was already discharged a few days ago."
"What!?" Midnight jumped, "How is that fair!?"
"I'm sure you will be discharged in no time." Mr. Principle chuckled,
"How is the school been?" Midnight questioned.
"Well-" Mr. President took a seat in the open chair beside the bed. "-having three of my teachers out sitting around in the hospital has been challenging, but we are managing. We just want you three to get well and get back to us!"
"Yeah." Midnight sighed agreeing, "How is All Might holding up?"
"From what I know, he has mostly been asleep this whole time."
"Really?"
"Mhm."
"And what about those kids?" Midnight wondered.
"What kids?"
"I thought Aizawa would fill you in-" Midnight adjusted herself in the bed, "-Shadow Jack held three kids' prisoner-"
"Oh, those kids-" Mr. Principle nodded, causing Midnight to roll her eyes and shake her head.
"Yes."
"-the police aren't letting anyone near their rooms."
"Really?"
"Yes, but from what I overheard is the two boys are expecting to make a full recovering."
"What about the girl?"
"She is in a coma."
"A coma?"
"Yes. It seems she had a lot of damage dealt to her."
"Yeah-" Midnight breathed, thinking back to when she watched you fight Shadow Jack. "-why won't the police let anyone near those kids?" Midnight wondered, having been stuck inside this room as made her live under a rock for the past week.
"They are being deemed a danger."
"A danger!?" Midnight scoffed at the thought. "If it wasn't for those three kids, All Might, Aizawa and I along with all those other heroes would be dead right now!"
"That is exactly what Aizawa said."
"What are we going to do?" Midnight sighed, feeling tired. "Could we even do anything?"
"We already have."
"We have?"
"Yes."
"What?"
"I called All Might's police friend."
"Oh?"
"Mhm."
"Why don't you look worried?" Midnight wondered.
"Because there isn't a reason to be worried."
"There's not?"
"Nope."
"GET OFF ME!" A jagged voice erupted from outside the hallway.
"What were you saying?" Midnight questioned Mr. Principle who shot her an annoyed expression before the two of them ran out into the hall.
"What on earth is going on out here?" Mr. Principle asked looking at the scene unfolding before him.
Four police officers were holding down a boy with dark brown hair against the floor, his arms pinned behind his back. While a set of three guards held a boy with dirty blond hair up against the wall.
"This is bullshit!" The blond cursed.
"Stand down!" A tall man with graying hair yelled back, holding his gun directed at the teenager.
"Put that away!" Midnight yelled pointing to the officer, "Absolutely not!"
"Get back to your rooms!" The man ordered.
"I don't take orders from you." Mr. Principle stepped forward, "Now do you mind explaining why you have a gun pointed at an innocent teenage boy?"
"These people are not innocent!" The officer snapped.
"Who are you?" Mr. Principle questioned.
"Eizo Tanuma-" The man said, "-deputy chief-"
"Very good-" Mr. President waved his paw like hand. "-why are you treating these kids like they are being arrested?"
"Because they are being arrested." Eizo stated, "They are criminals." Midnight and Mr. Principle watched you get wheeled out of your room by the police.
"Come on!" The gray-haired boy spat seeing you still hooked up to machines, "Leave her alone!"
"Don't you think you are being just a bit rash here Deputy?" Mr. Principle questioned.
"You can never be too careful with villains-"
"These kids are not villains!" Midnight stepped forward, "In fact they saved countless lives just a few days ago!"
"That doesn't change the fact they were working with-"
"Let's get one thing straight-" The brunette snapped, "-we were never working for that bastard. The asshole captured, tortured and forced us inside that machine to suck us dry of every drop of strength we had!"
"Are you really going to stand there and try to say we wanted that to happen?" The blond on the floor struggled to laugh due to the pressure applied to his back.
"Looks like I'm missing the show." Aizawa lazily said walking off the elevator.
"Aizawa!" Mr. Principle cheerfully called, "Just in time."
"Were you stalling?" Midnight quickly realized.
"Naomasa?" Eizo stated the detective's name as he stood beside Aizawa.
"Hello!" The detective was cheery.
"What are you doing here?" Eizo shook his head,
"Oh-" Naomasa nodded, pulling out a thick file from his briefcase. "-to give you this."
"What?" Eizo snatched it from Naomasa, scanning the documents with his eyes.
"All that states is the three victims rescued from Shadow Jack are going to be under the protection of the HPSC."
"Wh-What!?" Eizo snapped his dark eyes up.
"Yes, granted it is still in the process, those documents state they are free to leave the hospital when discharged. They can stay anywhere they want as long as it's within the country and we have access to them of course."
"Ho-How is this possible!?" Eizo flipped through the pages as if he would find this to all be a long, horrible joke.
"Well, it wasn't easy-" Naomasa lightly laughed, "-but with the evidence I got from the news stations who were shooting the fight on live TV, these three kids risk their lives to protect the heroes as well as bring Shadow Jack down. They could have booked it and ran but they stayed and fought-"
Shiro just knew you were going to be coming at him with a big fat I-told-you-so.
"-this gave me enough to convince the HPSC to start a new program for survivors who have had their life's flipped upside down because of villains." Naomasa finished.
"But-But they are-"
"Victims." Naomasa finished the deputy's sentence. "Now, you and your men are no longer needed here. Get your hands off those boys and get back to doing your jobs."
"This is a mistake!" Eizo snapped,
"I don't believe it is-" Naomasa remained calm, "-and so does the HPSC. These kids have been through enough, they don't need to be handcuffed and dragged off to jail."
"This isn't over Naomasa!" Eizo pointed to Naomasa, before turning and storming out of the building with his lap dogs quickly following.
"I'm sorry about him." Naomasa said, helping Shiro off the ground.
"He is an ass." Shiro growled,
"He is." Naomasa nodded, "I'm sorry about what has happened to you-" Naomasa said to the boys and glancing back to you who was being wheeled back into your room by an annoyed nurse. "-our system failed you. But I hope now we can give you everything you need to step forward with your life."
Naomasa gave Mr. Principle all the files before taking his leave, having been called in for a meeting.
The two boys and you were placed in the same room.
"That Eizo is a piece of work." Aizawa muttered, leaning back in a chair staring at the handcuff around your wrist.
"Until the paperwork in finialed this is a precaution the hospital must take." Mr. Principle reminded the teacher.
"I'm just sorry I missed all the action!" All Might laughed, rubbing the back of his head.
"Sure, you are." Aizawa rolled his eyes but was revealed to see his friend is alive and well.
Silence fell over the room while the two boys slept, and you were still locked inside a coma.
Aizawa, Midnight and All Might never left your room.
They couldn't explain why they felt the need to shield you three, maybe it was because the system really did fail you three as children and now, they were trying to make up for it.
"Hey kid!" All Might smiled.
"Mm." Shiro groaned, looking around before pulling his hands up to rub his face but was caught by the handcuff on the bed.
"Nice." He sighed,
"We don't want it either." Mr. Principle said, "But we have to jump through a few hoops for now."
"Hm." He nodded glancing over to you and Gray. "Are they ok?"
"He is yes." Mr. President said, "But your friend has yet to waken."
"Why?"
"Many reasons." Mr. Principle said, "The important thing to focus on right now is her vitals look good."
"How are you feeling?" Aizawa asked,
"I'm not inside a machine for once, so that's nice."
"Tajaka Shiro?" Mr. Principle stepped forward.
"Hm?" The brunette turned,
"My name is-" Mr. Principle went on to say.
"I don't care-" Shiro bluntly interrupted. "-either throw me in a cell or get the hell out!"
The teachers and principal of UA High School glanced at one another; this wasn't how they thought the conversation would go.
"Shiro-" Mr. Principle continued dispute having daggers glared into the side of his face. "-My name is Nezu, most just call me Mr. Principle since I am-"
"Like I said field mouse-" Shiro snapped, "-I don't care."
"Field mouse?" Mr. Principle blinked,
"Look kid-" Aizawa called from his chair next to your bed, his arms crossed over his chest. "-we just want to have a conversation with you, that's all. We already spoke with your friend Bushida Gray-"
"What did you do to them!?" Shiro's head snapped around to gaze at you and Gray.
"Nothing." Aizawa said, "Gray is just asleep, you can take him if you want. (y/n) on the other hand is still in a coma, but she is resting comfortably and isn't in any pain-"
"That's a first." Shiro muttered to himself.
"What was that?" Midnight spoke up.
"I said that's a first!" Shiro spat, "That girl has been in pain since the day Shadow Jack dragged her into this hell!"
"Which reminds me-" Mr. Principle said, "-where did you three come from? We tried running your fingerprints and names but came up short. We couldn't find any relatives to contact for you-"
"I see Gray didn't tell you shit." Shiro smirked.
"He wouldn't open up to us, no." Mr. Principle sighed.
"Why should we?" Shiro bit, "Your all just a bunch of second-rate heroes who couldn't even save three kids-"
"We didn't know about you." Aizawa lazily replied, "If we had then-"
"Oh-" Shiro darkly laughed, "-I'm sorry we didn't send you a neon sign blaring for help!"
"What matters now is we are here now." All Might voiced, "We can't dwell on the past, if we do then you can never move forward and-"
"That's real easy coming from someone like you." Shiro spat.
"Don't be this stupid." Aizawa said, "Don't be so arrogant to push away the help we can offer you."
"We don't need you help!" Shiro yelled, "We have made it this far on our own, we will be fine!"
"Kid-" Aizawa responded, "-who do you think is paying for your friends to be treated? Do you think the bill for those beds you are lying in will just disappear?"
"I-"
"You say you don't need us; do you really want to take the chance of pulling (y/n) from those machines and tossing her into the street?" Aizawa bluntly said, his lazily eyes fixated on the kid. "How long do you think she will live?"
"Aizawa-" Midnight whispered at Aizawa for being too harsh!
"Don't-Don't stop their treatment..." Shiro muttered, looking into his lap.
"Then you need to start answering some of our questions kid." Aizawa said, leaning back in his chair turning to Mr. Principle to take over.
"What do you want to know?" Shiro growled to himself, annoyed feeling like he lost.
