Chapter 4 - Gaia

"This is Gaia, one of the two great trees in Lisentia, and the heart of Silvia." Faunus said.

Amaris replied, "Silvia?"

"It's the name of the forest, did I forget to tell you?"

Amaris nodded.

"I'm sorry, age is getting to me. I can't stay the archdruid forever, but I don't need to. Afterall, soon there will be one more druid."

"What does it mean to be the Archdruid, you keep saying that word, but I don't know what it means?"

"The archdruid is the druid most important to protecting the forest they live in, soon Silvia needs a new archdruid. I'm already 721 (Elfs live 10 times longer than humans). Perhaps it will be you."

Amaris didn't know what to say, so she stayed silent.

Faunus looked at the moon. "It's getting late, you should go to sleep. Let me lead you to your room." He said.

Faunus pointed at the tree, and a path of branches gave off a green light. Amaris followed the path to a large branch. Out of the lage branch grew a huge amount of smaller branches, forming the walls. Above the branches was giant leaf, acting as the roof. Inside the room was a regulair looking bed, other than the frame, which was made of branches. Despite the room being very open, it somehow felt like the perfect temperature. Amaris was still nevous about all of this, she couldn't sleep for a while, so she left the room and went for a walk through Gaia. She looked around for a bit until she saw Faunus at the roots of the tree. He pointed at the tree like before, this time opening up the an entrance through the roots. He went through the opening and the roots closed behind him. Amaris was interested in this, but she moved on from this for now.

She explored Gaia for a while, she found a kitchen, a library, an alchemy lab, a store room, a lookout, and much more. Eventually it became too late for her to keep going, she went back to bed and fell asleep.

Amaris woke op to the smell of food. She didn't know what food, because the crimson knights always made meat based dishes, but she could smell that it was food. She dressed up and followed the smell to a higher level of the tree, to a branch, not covered by any other part of the tree. Where Faunus was making two omelettes.

"Oh, you're awake, have a seat." He said.

She sat down, she wasn't used to this. Usually, she would have huge buffet infront of her, and she would have to eat as fast as possible, so the others wouldn't get all the good stuff first. Now she could take the time. A nice change.

"So, when will we start the magic lessons?" Amaris asked right after Faunus was done cooking.

"Faunus smiled. "I don't have much to do today, we can start whenever you like." He put the food on the table.

Amaris excitedly said, "I want to start right after breakfast!" And she started eating.

"Than it is decided, I will start teaching you druidic right after breakfast." Faunus replied. "We will go to the east of forest for it."

They finished the food, and Faunus took Amaris to the east, where there was a circle of stones. Presumably to pray to a god, or a powerful spirit. This area was full of spirits, however, there wasn't a single one inside the circle. Faunus whistled and one of the spirits flew into the circle, it looked like Faunus was still waiting for something. and than it happened, out of the bushes apeared another druid. He was wearing a cloak similair to that of Faunus, he looked about 20 years old, he had dark skin and black hair. He looked peaceful.

"Jackson, this is Amaris, she became a druid yesterday, through the blessing of Leto." Faunus said. "I can always rely on you to help me train new druids, so what do you say?"

"Wow, If Leto thinks that she is worthy of her blessing, she must be a seriously powerful mage." he replied.

Amaris gave an awkward smile, "Actually, I know close to nothing about magic..."

"What, that doesn't sound like Leto, interesting..." He laught. "Well, there must be a reason, so lets find out what it is!"
