After an arduous battle that had spanned nearly half a day, Adam and his weary party found respite in the presence of a crackling campfire. The lifeless bodies of the goblins they had recently vanquished now surrounded them, a testament to their hard-won victory.
Halland, a seasoned warrior, skillfully roasted a plump chicken over the fire. A warm smile adorned his face as he gazed at Adam, who sat nearby, his breaths heavy and labored, replenishing himself with a gulp of water.
"You did splendidly out there, kid," Halland commended, his voice laced with admiration.
Adam, lacking the energy to conjure a smile in response, placed the bottle of water on the ground and leaned back on his hand. He directed his tired gaze towards the man who had pushed him to his limits.
"Thanks," Adam replied, his voice tinged with exhaustion. "Now that you've witnessed my ability to hold my own against these goblins, will you and the others join me in the fight?"
