Chapter 7 - Since when was the young master so obedient?

Yan Nuan shook her head and laughed. She calmly followed behind the servant with her backpack slung across her shoulders. In the dining room, a group of people sat around the dining table. Father Yan sat at the head of the table while First Madam sat right beside him.

Beside her, Yehan's elder brother, Yan He was seated. Yan Nuan raised an eyebrow upon seeing him. It seemed Father Yan brought him back from City C. She also saw that his younger brother, Yan Jing sat beside him. There was also a young boy sitting beside them. From her memory, Yan Nuan deduced that he was called Yan Li.

She saw that First Madam was particularly looking at her with hostile eyes. Yan Nuan was amused.

The people at the table finally looked up and saw a young, handsome lad in Qing Yu High school uniform. His clothes were neatly ironed and he tucked his shirt in properly. His hair had been permed and combed to the back with oil and it dazzled over the young man's head.

This person was Yan Yehan? He had always been exceptionally handsome but he looked even more elegant and suave. He even tucked in and folded his collars? Everyone were greatly surprised including Nanny Liu who had just walked into the dining room with a bowl in hand. She whistled inwardly at the sight of the young man walking down the stairs. If she hadn't known that Yan Nuan was a girl, she would have especially said that this person was 'beautifully' handsome.

But since when was the young Master so obedient?

In truth, Yan Yehan was a genius. He was incredibly brilliant making him an ace son in his father's heart. Father Yan had never said no to his wishes. It was one of the reasons why Yan Yehan's mother was highly regarded in the family.

However, despite his intelligence, Yan Yehan was a truant. He was an ideal school hooligan. Although, he was a coward, he had several lackeys. But, the school management didn't dare to correct him. He was the school's most promising student. What if such a rich, first-position magnet refused to come to their school anymore?

Yan Nuan greeted, "Good morning, Dad." She paused and flashed Li Wenna a smile. "Good morning, First Madam."

Yan Nuan was from the ancient times where morals and etiquette were a must. It was ingrained in her soul to show etiquette whether she liked the person or not. She couldn't be bothered if First Madam refused to reply.

Father Yan beckoned at her to sit. Yan Nuan shook her head.

She replied, "I'm not going to eat. I'm already late for school."

The other family members were even more stunned upon hearing her words. Nanny Liu was more surprised. She had never heard the 'young master's say the word 'late'. She was actually concerned about punctuality? However, although Nanny Liu was impressed, she would never let the 'young master's go to school on an empty stomach. Especially, when she had just recovered from the incident a week ago.

She instantly disapproved. "Young Master, you should eat first." She hurriedly pulled a chair out for Yan Nuan and gestured with a smile that left no excuses.

Yan Nuan sighed. She should have known that it wouldn't be so easy to get past her nanny. She was about to sit down when a thought suddenly came to her. She turned to Nanny Liu. "How about I take it to school?"

She didn't wait for the older woman to reply before skipping into the attached kitchen and returned with a lunchbox. The dining room was silent as everyone watched the arrogant young master scoop food into the lunchbox and pack it up.

Yan Nuan emptied all her portion into the lunchbox and the smell wafted into her nose. She breathed,

'So relaxing!'

Afterwards, she closed up the lunchbox and adjusted her backpack before picking it up. "I'll leave now. Bye, dad. Bye, Nanny Liu."

Nanny Liu helplessly sighed and waved at him. However, Father Yan called out,

"Wait a minute, Yehan."

Yan Nuan turned towards her father. "Yes, Dad?"

"I have something for you," he said and brought out a packet. "I heard you lost your phone in the accident."

"Oh." She had completely forgotten about the owner's phone. She nodded. "Yes, dad."

He stretched the packet towards her. "Take it. It's yours. I'm planning to collaborate with Apple on some projects so I received a complimentary present. Thought you'd like it."

Yan Nuan gave a curt smile. After all, she wasn't that familiar with the things in the modern world. So, she wasn't that enthusiastic. But, she still replied. "I like it. Thanks, dad."

Father Yan nodded curtly and began to eat indifferently but Yan Nuan could see the strain of smile hanging at the edge of his lips. She shook her head and proceeded to leave ignoring the glares Yan He and Yan Jing were giving her.

Yan walked out of the door with her lunchbox in hand. It was such an unpredictable sight for the Yan family members. Second Young Master Yan actually went to school with a lunchbox. He had surprised them a lot in the past week that they ought not to be surprised anymore.

Yan Nuan stepped out of the car and waved goodbye to the chauffeur who was already greatly surprised. The Second Young Master had actually talked to him. He had been so excited as they talked. This was a surprise for the middle aged driver. After all, the young Master had never acted in such a way. Although he wasn't cruel and never yelled at them, he was too proud to talk to them. The chauffeur was absurdly happy.

The Second Young Master has changed!
