Chapter 27 - The Hero's Showtime

Chapter 27: The Hero's Showtime

After the first wave appeared before their fallen leader, their presence permeated nature. The green forest turned even more, darker, and the darkness no longer needed to leverage on the black clouds to show its greatness.

The dark matter's mana invaded nature and spread the dark matter zones further! In this zone, the dark matter's monsters were stronger and much tougher to kill!

The first wave was after the forest's monsters.

You could find many forest monsters.

The monsters appeared naturally in the Faynom World for some time now. Still, if any existence with dark matter control took over them, they would become far more frightening than ever before!

The first wave contained wolves, elks, boars, and foxes primarily.

Those four types of monsters glared at the players with their black eyes, then in tandem, their forms leaned forward!

And then they rushed at the players!

"Forward!" The Hero shouted, standing out with her presence alone and her sword thrust against.

She was the first player to wound the wave, and that was by killing the ladder, no less! Now, she initiated the charge and planted a few slashes on foxes and boars. Her sword wasn't perfect, but it wasn't amateurish either.

She landed cuts across fifty monsters, then her party member, Average Guy, pulled the bowstring and sent the volley of normal arrows. Those arrows drew clean and straight lines on the battlefield, and all eluded the players.

His skill was the presentation of the Hero's Skill!

Once the arrows lodged themselves within the monsters, the wounds caused by the hero's swords lit up in a golden light, and the blood gushed forth! It was not only flashy but also highly lethal as the monsters shrieked in pain!

The players received another portion of courage!

That was the last portion they needed.

"So strong! This skill isn't a scam!"

"Let's follow her!"

"Damn! I think I am in love!"

The healers and mages were the first ones to strike! Their staves rose to the sky, and their abilities rained down across the front line, each with their own unique aspects.

The mages hurt more, and their skills spread further. On the other hand, the healers left the healing orbs on the monsters. Any player would heal by cutting through those orbs and deal the damage through them.

Of course, the damage count would spread between the player and healer in any dungeon or raid zone.

But that was different now that the hero had spread her heroic slashes across the battlefield!

Maya was doing really fine, considering it had been just three days after she grasped the sword. She received guidance from this world, but no guidance could turn the player into a perfect swordsman in just a few days!

Nonetheless, her hard work charmed many players. Her speed was outstanding, and it was easy to lose track of the Ferocious Bear! She added a lot of stats to her agility, and keeping up with the hero seemed outright impossible.

It seemed like she knew about her role!

And thus, The Hero's Showtime began!

However, as Maya had her reasons to come here, many other players were the same. A few players of the same caliber naturally stood out, and it was not just Reylin.

The lady with blood-red hair used her unusual skills, and she had a unique class.

A man with a long spear and white hair also gathered the attention, and weak-minded players teemed around his back to use him for their protection.

Those three stood out with their parties, and one of them harbored an evil intent toward Reylin.

A group of players brutally treated by Reylin before shared a similar intent, and they wanted to use the first wave to pay him back! However, Reylin's Showtime was unapproachable.

Only those allowed to come closer by him could speak to him and be close!

However, Reylin noticed them before, and he remembered one of them. That man was one of the players who had escaped from overlured monsters. They all wanted to use Reylin as a scapegoat for their safety.

He smiled widely, "Is it a coincidence that you are here? Is it a coincidence that you are so close to me?" They kept their eyes on him, and they didn't even care about the kill count.

Reylin was bothered by the kill count, as it was hard to find the monsters not armed by the hero. Worse, the other outstanding players also did a lot of damage, so he would need to work hard on the other two waves.

Reylin decided to go with that thought, and he faced the victim group.

"It's a coincidence, you pyromaniac," One of them replied.

"I think it's not," Reylin smiled wider and turned toward them.

The players flinched and pointed at the first wave of monsters, "What are you doing? The monsters are behind! Do you want to lose the rewards?"

"Monsters behind, the losers on the front. I just chose to deal with the latter," Reylin raised his hand, clenched it, and the flames burst out with explosive sound!

Ferocious Bear's voice rang out from the side, "Why do you guys argue? It's not the time for it." She said with a probing tone.

The player's eyes twinkled, and they snickered inwardly.

All of them hid behind the hero who had returned to the backline to recuperate a little. All this moving exhausted her stamina and mana. Both could be quickly replenished by her party members, but all those moves were also taxing on her mind.

That was how real this game was!

Reylin glanced at her and said, "I want to kill them."

"Let me help you," The Hero replied, stunning the players.

They blinked their eyes and stared at her, "Why?"

The Hero answered with the sword cutting through them, leaving the golden trail into highly lethal wounds. Before the golden line disappeared, Reylin's fireballs landed on all those players, and they died with a big question mark in their minds.

[You have killed...]

[You have killed...]

[You have...]

She turned her black eyes to him and said, "Don't give up on the first wave, please. I will split all the rewards evenly later on. My skill shouldn't hold you back."

"No one would want to work with you more than once if you didn't," Reylin said, "I don't want to share, though. Are we at the stage where we can share such great rewards? And I can't help but be a little mad about your skill."

Ferocious Bear giggled, "Then be mad and overcome it on the second wave. It's a high competition that makes everyone stronger. I will top you in the second and the third wave, though."

She said and left back to her healer for some greater healing!

That hero was quite astute, and she knew how to read the mood. She didn't say anything wrong, nor did she make any bad moves. Her choices were great so far, and Reylin turned around with his heartbeat normal.

He didn't congratulate the hero, but his hate toward her skill disappeared.

He would overcome it on the second wave, "This forest is already done for. I am sure they won't mind me lighting it up in flames."

The Pyromaniac would add dance to his singing soon!
