"I'm coming." I said to my father's men and they didn't question me. One of them just had his eyes focused on me and the other guy watched my brothers.
I went towards the alley, out of the park. Put on my black sunglasses to match with my outfit of black leather jacket, white t-shirt, black bum short and black high top canvas to match.
I'll admit. Lia has a good fashion sense. I really look cool right now thanks to her.
I approached them and made my presence known.
I smirked and removed my glasses in a cool way like those action movies. "Good morning ladies. How d'you do?"
------
LIA'S POV
" Good morning miss. The chairman awaits you in his office. "the butler greeted me. He is the only person that treats me well apart from Karen, the oldest maid and she's also in charge of the kitchen.
"Good morning David. How are you doing? it's been a long time."
"Yes Lia. Very long. I can see that you are taking care of yourself."
"Of course" him and Karen always called me by my name. "How's Karen?" I asked
He looked down and hesitant to answer. "She passed away two years ago. She had a heart attack during the first week of her Christmas holiday."
" The boss wishes to speak with you Lia. We can talk later. "David said and walked away. I turned around and walked towards the office in a hurry.
I opened the door to the office and entered. I didn't knock. He doesn't deserve any respect even though it's little.
------
As Lia entered the office, she was told by her father to sit down. Luckily for her, Claudia, her father's wife was not around.
She looked at her brother who was sitting on a couch beside their father's work desk. He looked as if he would bolt out of the room if and when given the opportunity.
"Why did you call us here?" Lia asked still standing.
"If you sit, I might tell you the reason." Collin Dmitri said calmly unlike himself. This attitude made Lia surprised because he sounded angry when he had called earlier.
Lia grudgingly sat down as if she was quarrelling with the chair. "What is it?" she asked impatiently. She looked at Leo who had a pained expression and quickly diverted her gaze.
She knew.
She knew that he was about to use her again. Tears started forming in her eyes but she would not let it fall. It will make her look weak. Weakness is not in her dictionary anymore. She had to be strong, if not for herself then for her brother.
"I heard that you are working for my business rival, you know who. I'm glad some sense entered your head while you were here. I want you to marry him." Collin Dmitri said with a proud expression.
------
LIA'S POV
Just as I said. He always finds an opportunity to use me to get what he wants. And if I refuse, Leo will be in danger. As usual, emotional blackmail. But I wanted to make sure I didn't hear wrong so I asked him to repeat himself.
"You're getting married. Even if you don't marry him, find a way to seduce him. Although I don't see any man that can be seduced with that type of body." he mocked and I felt embarrassed. As if that wasn't enough, he added "You should go for a plastic surgery. Who knows something good may come out of it."
"That would be enough now."Leo said. I didn't think he would speak up. He has always been quiet. I motioned for him to keep quiet but he ignored me and stood up from where he was sitting.
I saw a strange shadow pass his eyes as it dimmed. He walked towards my father's desk and sat on it. The fear I saw minutes ago was no longer there. I sensed an aura of danger coming from him and moved to hold him back before he does something he would regret. But he raised his index finger stopping me and I could only watch.
He whispered something to our father, something I didn't hear and he went back to his seat and sat down. For some strange reason my father didn't talk for almost ten minutes and just stared into the space.
Like he just spaced out.
