Arslan's eyes came back to their normal bright crimson color. Teardrops wet them running slowly down his face reaching his chin. Then they dropped to the ground one after another,
"I don't want to become like them..." Arslan sobbed as he talked.
His shoulders perceived a pair of arms leaning on him. He felt as if his mother were hugging him from behind. A special warmth filled his heart spreading through his body, dissipating his desire to kill.
*I'll always be by your side...* The fading voice of his mother said.
Maybe it was just Arslan's imagination... but it stopped him from doing something he could have regretted forever. Growing up alone wasn't easy... being without parents and having to take care of his sister while everyone else wished for his death weighed heavily on Arslan's shoulders. The world he was born in was a tough one... so he needed to be even tougher to survive and reach his objective.
