It's been a few days since we started on our journey, and I've been finding it harder and harder to stay awake. The feelings of sleeplessness that comes with maternity is hard, especially since my stomach has inflated to such a size...
"Rose..." Hunt cooed, holding me tightly in his arms while he walked through the snow. "Are you alright?" Hunt is such a sugar twist, always wondering if I'm alright or if I need something. If I told him that I wanted venison, he'd go out and come back only when he had it. He always finds a warm place to lay me down in before he goes to hunt for my breakfast, lunch and dinner.
My stomach has rounded quite significantly with maternity, and Hunt made a ritual of caressing my stomach until I fall asleep. Apparently, according to him, it's supposed to create a paternal bond with the pups.
"I can smell them, they're almost ready to come out." Hunt snapped, clearly annoyed. Was he jealous of his own child? How cute.
"Are we close?" I asked inquisitively. Hunt smiled and nodded, kissing my cheek.
"We're just an hour away. Wait and hold on until then, okay?" I nodded coyly, hugging him tightly, pressing my cold nose against his warm bare chest.
Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks. I looked up at him, confused. "What's wrong?" I asked, unsure of why he had just stopped. Then, I noticed men poking their heads out from trees. I looked around and noticed that we were surrounded.
"Who are these people, Hunt?" I asked, frightened. He smiled, holding me tighter. "It's fine," he replied. "They're just scouts, making sure that we aren't an intruder. They must have smelt an unfamiliar smell and came to investigate."
That's a relief... I was scared that we were in danger. One man stepped forward, clearly superior to the others. He looked at Hunt, then at me in his arms.
"When I heard that you went to get your mate, I thought that it was ridiculous. Turns out you actually did it." Hunt turned towards me, smiling.
"It's okay. Jason doesn't bite." Jason, that's what this huge man is called. Are all of his village just like him? Tall, muscular, ... handsome?
Hunt smiled. "My mate is shy. Don't scare her, stand back. She's pregnant." Jason smiled, patting Hunt's shoulder. "I can see that, congrats. The first litter is always the best, especially when it's with your mate." Jason seems like a nice guy. He's acting really friendly towards Hunt, and is even giving him encouragement.
"I'll bring Amanda around, perhaps they'll be able to get along." Hunt then threw his arms around me possesively. "No," he declared. "Rose only needs me." He's so cute when he acts all possessive hubby on me. I find it so hot...
"My mate is about to give birth any day now. I need to get her to my cave." Jason nodded, pointing towards the other men surrounding us to go on with their business. He escorted us back, and told me funny stories about Hunt's childhood.
"We used to be inseparable." Jason declared proudly. "He was the cold and unfunny one and I was the pack prankster." Pack? Oh, does he mean his village? How cute, I can only imagine how adorable a little Hunt would look. Hopefully our baby looks just like him...
"The last thing I expected him to get was a mate. Everyone in the village expected you to be the stud." Stud? Had he slept with other people than me?
"Stop that. I've never been interested in breeding with different partners every night like Sirius is." I suddenly blushed, remembering how he had seduced me last night. Stud? I could remember the time that we had sex. He was... amazing. Am I just another one of his partners?
