Meanwhile, back to where Rin and Galahad.
Rin was being occupied by distracting the Wind Howl, and it wasn't easy. Mainly because the beast really lived up to its reputation. When it comes to speed, neither side backed down.
And with the Wind Howl's swiftness, Galahad too was having a hard time in attacking it. It was like catching a slippery fish in the sea with just their hands.
"Rin, can you tie him down?!" Galahad asked as he took every opportunity to strike when the beast made the slightest bit of wrong move. But even so, all his weapon struck was air as the beast used its absorbed energy to retreat in lighting speed.
"'Am trying!"
Rin barked backed. She clicked her tongue as this scenario was getting highly irritating to her.
Who wouldn't get irritated? They had been attacking the beast for an hour already. Still, they couldn't land a single hit—attacking and chasing without landing a single blow: all her frustrations, irritations, and the intent to kill bottled up inside her.
"This rotten' beast! I guess I have no choice but to use a bit of gold." Rin gritted her teeth, though her expressions stayed the same while her eyes were still droopy, appearing all bored.
She continued to attack the best in a pattern to lead the Wind Howl on, and when she got it where she wanted, instead of going after it like she usually did, she threw a small dud towards the beast, which caught the Wind Howl off guard.
BOOM!
Smokes with a constant mixture of sparks engulfed the area where the beast had been. Even so, the Wind Howl managed to retreat in time.
Yet, the smoke engulfed a ten-meter radius area, and the Wind Howl's paws got caught in it, causing its movement to slow as its one leg was paralyzed. In this split second, that was all Galahad needed to unleashed his skill. With all his might, he struck his ax towards the beasts, chopping it in half with a force that caused the ground to shook and cracked.
"Ehehehe . . . spoils." Rin went to the Wind Howl's side and snatched its arcane heart.
"Heh, this will be enough to compensate for that paralyze dud I just threw." Then without a second thought, she pocketed it into her small bag, which she always carried around, wrapped around her thigh.
Galahad didn't give it much thought as he knew that it was all thanks to her that they defeated the beast. As for him, he contented on skinning the Wind Howl for its fur and removing its fangs.
RUMBLE!
A rumbling sound echoed amidst the tightly enclosed space. A new passageway had opened.
----
On the other side, in Pamela and Percival's Group.
"Everyone! Attack it with lightning!" It's weak against lightning!"
"Does anyone here have an affinity with lightning?!"
"Everyone, look out!"
AGH!
Argh!
That gigantic water jelly beast swallowed two boys in Percival's group, and their original group of five was now down to three.
Percival and the remaining men were at a loss on what to do. Helplessness and hopelessness were slowly creeping inside them as the fear ate away their courage.
No physical attack was effective against that slime as their weapons just went right through it like they were striking against water.
What was more, no one amongst the boys had any affinity with lightning since lightning was one of the rarest elements, to begin with.
They watched helplessly as one after the other from their group was being swallowed by the jelly thingy beast. Though the boys that were consumed were still alive, struggling inside the belly of that slime, yet no physical attack nor elemental affinity works except lightning. Thus, no matter how much they struggled, it was all fruitless. They couldn't even hurt the slime, much less get out from its belly.
To make the situation worse, it would only be a matter of time that those boy's energy would completely be drained in keeping themselves alive inside all that water.
If they couldn't defeat that monster, those men would surely drown!
What to do! What to do! Percival was now panicking as he was at a loss on what to do.
This type of monster was the easiest to deal with and the hardest if you didn't have the specific elemental affinity to counter it. And a slime of this size would take an enormous amount of arcane force to defeat it.
"Damn it!" Percival clenched his jaw. There was nowhere to retreat as that small passageway was long gone now.
"Everyone, stay back!"
Everyone glanced behind them. They momentarily forgot their selves when they saw that they still had that one person with them.
That mesmerizing beauty!
Pamela was silent the whole time because she was casting her spell, a fire spell. Though fire was weak against water, that only applied if you threw fireballs and other simple fire spells.
However, what Pamela was casting was Inferno.
That was why it took her almost ten minutes to chant since Inferno was the most devastating fire spell in her arsenal at the moment.
"Everyone, retreat!"
Pamela shouted, jolting the remaining men back to their senses after they were bewitched by the enchanting woman who was now bathed in flames. The flames were swirling on her body like a fire serpent at her beck and call. Her long black hair was dancing with the flames while her obsidian eyes turned fierce, yet her face remained soft, appearing like the goddess of fire herself.
It was really a sight to behold!
The three men rapidly went behind, and Pamela immediately unleashed her spell. With but the wave of her hand, the ground suddenly cracked as red light like vines crawled towards the slime before a burst of fire erupted like a volcano, surrounding the beast.
Besides the weakness against lightning, the beast was also incredibly slow. It didn't even flee as it just stood there while the burning heat boiled it, causing its body to evaporate into nothingness. Even its arcane heart melted against the terrifying spell, leaving only the two boys behind, unscathed.
*cough! *cough!
*pant!
*pant!
"Cure well!"
After the beast was defeated and the spell ended, Pamela once more cast another spell to heal those two who were at the stomach of that slime moments ago.
Pamela forgot about being low-key as she just displayed her might.
Inferno was a top-level spell, and not just anyone could cast it. They needed an enormous amount of energy for this spell that it was even possible that you had to use your own body's energy. It was a double edge spell, leaving the caster half-dead or worse, killing the caster from energy depletion.
But Pamela remained standing tall like always, not a shred of exhaustion on her lovely face.
Another thing was, people usually only have an affinity to one arcane element, yet Pamela just cast healing water, an affinity to water!
A dual elemental affinity was, of course, not unheard of, but they were extremely rare –– very rare!
The boys remained speechless at the beauty in front of them. They couldn't believe that the monster was singlehandedly defeated, and by a woman at that!
But above it all, they couldn't help but revere this beautiful goddess for being too strong!
Beginning from this day, Spell Goddess Pamela's fan club was born.

"AH!"
"What is it?"
The white-haired old man's opaque pearly eyes shone as he stroked his beard, a smile on his lips. "Hmm . . . the players are now all set. Ohohoho! I wonder what destiny will bring this time. Ohohoho!"
