"Mother, mother! Please let's play under the stars. Please, please, please." I jumped up and down as I pulled her left hand towards the palace backyard.
She laughed, pried her hand free from my grip and scooped me upwards. "Let's go see the stars."
"But mother, what about our meeting with the mayor of Hazelville?" Amber asked hesitantly as she followed us outside.
"There is still time, dear. Don't you worry."
When we were in the outdoors, the air attacked my lungs and made me cough a little until I adjusted.
"Mother? Why does this happen to Scarlotte every time we go out?" Amber asked concerned.
Mother gently patted my back. "Her lungs are just delicate for the dense air. Don't worry she'll be fine."
Mother unwrapped her arm from around me and looked up at the angry clouds above. "Octavia, project the stars."
I looked up and started circling around myself as I admired their beauty, till I stumbled and landed on the ground, sending cinders dancing in the air.
"Hey look! These stars form a crown!"
But nobody was focusing with me, mother and Amber had their eyes on the approaching assistant, that was probably there to escort them to their meeting.
Escort them away from me. And leave me all alone.
