Strong winds howling, lightning bolts lit the dark sky as the silence of the sea slowly drifted into the storm. Laffey, Javelin, Ayanami, and Z23 carefully tread the raging sea as they push on through the storm. As the storm slowly faded away, the sea returned to its calm condition. Their group made contact with the other kansens. Prinz Eugen and Admiral Hipper.
"Where are the others?" Admiral Hipper asked.
"I-I don't know. We got separated when we entered the storm! I hope they're okay…" Javelin answered.
"Let's head to the staging area and hope." Prinz Eugen noted as the two sisters led the way.
Thirty minutes later, they reached their destination, 'Ironbottom Sound'. It was in between Guadalcanal, Savo Island, and Florida Island of the Solomon Islands. It's a graveyard for all of the warships that have been sunk during the war.
"Where are they?" Prinz Eugen asked. "They should be here by now…"
"I've got a bad feeling about this…"
The moment Admiral Hipper voiced her concern, something long and massive jumped out of the water and lunged at the people nearest to it!
Each of them dodged the incoming attack and kept their distance from the newly arrived enemy. It was a 'creature' of which they have never encountered before. Shaped like a sea serpent, its metallic exterior clacked like a machine each time it moved and swayed. What made it dangerous, aside from its size, was it being armed with 4 single-barrel naval guns. 2 of those guns were fixed on each side of its head. Lastly, there's 1 quadruple torpedo launcher located under its jaw.
"Siren?!" Prinz Eugen shouted.
"I haven't seen that kind of siren before… Is it a new one?" Z23 replied.
"A scout, maybe? Whatever it is, don't let it escape! Sink it at once!" Admiral Hipper ordered as she fired a full salvo of her 203 mm SK C/34 guns.
This put a dent on the mech serpent and pushed it back. This alleged 'Siren' retreated and dove down the side of their ship. Laffey and Javelin immediately went over to that area and dropped their depth charges. Ayanami and Z23 readied their weapons while on standby.
BOOM!
The unknown creature immediately surfaced after the depth charge exploded. Z23 fired her15 cm TbtsK C/36 guns, hitting the creature's left naval gun, destroying it. Ayanami dashed into the scene. Backed into a corner, the creature hastily fired all of its torpedoes. They were aimed at Ayanami. Ayanami evaded all of them as she jumped high in the air.
"Taste the power of the demon!" Ayanami shouted as was about to cut off the creature's head.
SHHHHING!
Something heavy made a solid splash on the water below. Ayanami landed back onto the surface of the vessel, now facing a headless mech serpent.
Admiral Hipper, Prinz Eugen, Laffey, and Javelin targeted the body of the unknown siren and all of them fired torpedoes, making sure that it wouldn't rise again.
Their combined torpedo attack decimated the unknown siren's body. Only the head remained as it stayed afloat the calm sea. They all stared at it.
"Wow.." Javelin quipped. "What should we do now?"
"We should call Akashi and tow this thing back to base." Admiral Hipper answered before bringing out a device to contact their base.
She was only able to hear static noise through the radio. Admiral Hipper clicked her tongue in dismay.
"Seems like the storm we've gone through has interfered with the comms…" she added.
"That, or another weird Siren is jamming them…" Prinz Eugen guessed.
Soon after, a few ally kansens appeared over the horizon. It was Cleveland and Enterprise. They made haste to land right in front of Admiral Hipper, who showed no amusement to that.
"Hey, guys!" Cleveland shouted.
"Seems like you also got attacked by this new Siren-looking thing." Enterprise followed.
"Where are the others?" Admiral Hipper asked.
"We were talking with them via comms when we suddenly got attacked by the same thing that attacked you." Cleveland answered. "After the fighting had ended, we just came to realize that we were unable to use our comms anymore."
"I have a feeling that these 'new Sirens' are jamming our comms" Z23 guessed as she crossed her arms.
"Hmm?" Laffey checks her sonar. "Hmm. There's trouble.." Laffey softly muttered.
Laffey's sonar picked up a lot of foreign signatures.
"This can't be good…" Prinz Eugen cursed as they prepared for combat.
From out of nowhere, a thick mist closed in on their vessel and engulfed their surroundings in a matter of a few minutes. A sharp shock was all that everyone there felt for a brief moment.
"!?"
Everyone reacted in attention to surprise rather than pain.
The sea slowly changes its color, from dark blue to sky blue. Even with the fog, they were able to tell that it suddenly got brighter, suggesting noontime.
"W-what just happened?" Enterprise asked. "Our surroundings have changed!" She looked around, confused.
"You think?? Tch– even our navigation systems are all messed up!" Admiral Hipper added, frustrated with the situation.
"Everyone! Stay close to each other!" Enterprise ordered as all of them turned their heads around to scan their surroundings. But something else came to distract them other than sight… Gunfire was to be heard from over a distance.
"Let's move on!" Admiral Hipper had said.
They pressed on forward more towards the sound of the ceaseless gunfire, hoping to meet other familiar faces. But before they could reach anything that fit that condition, a silhouette of a huge figure appeared from the bright yet thick mist. Visibility was still low but they saw the unknown silhouette appear larger, suggesting that something was heading straight at them. They tried to use their weapons but each just stopped functioning entirely.
"W-what's going on? Why can't we use our weapons?" Javelin complained.
"Are they being jammed?!" Admiral Hipper complained.
"Let's run away! Keep heading towards the sound of gunfire!"
"Someone's in front of us!" Admiral Hipper shouted as she pointed at this figure behind the mist. From the shape it's making, it looks like a kansen!
"DUCK DOWN!" the unknown kansen shouted.
The moment they dock, a ship is taking form above her. The ship was then thrown like a javelin towards this huge figure. As they look above their heads, this ship looks like an Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruiser!
"HAH?!" Admiral Hipper hissed as she confusedly stared at the ship flying towards the huge figure. It successfully hit the huge figure. The ship begins to fade and explode into millions of glowing orbs.
"Follow me!"
They followed the unknown Kansen through the mist. They soon left the mist and entered the open sea. The sea looked calm. Looking over the horizon, they couldn't see any islands. The blue sky looked so empty. There's no sun but the sky was as bright as it would be at noon.
The girl they followed looked like an Ironblood kansen. She has long blonde hair and her hairstyle is the same as Admiral Hipper's. Her riggings look nearly the same as Admiral Hipper! Some parts are a bit different but you can tell from the guns, it's the same guns that Admiral Hipper-class uses.
"Who are you?" Enterprise asked.
The girl turns around and bows.
"I'm Valkyrie Admiral Hipper, the manifestation of all the sailors' souls who serve on the Kriegsmarine warship, Admiral Hipper of the Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruiser."
"H-HAH?!" the flat chest Admiral Hipper let out a huge whine of confusion.
"I'm Admiral Hipper! Who are you?! Are you some kind of Siren doppelganger?! I-I'll sink you!" She pointed all her guns towards this 'another' Admiral Hipper.
"Oh my, oh my. Are you angry because this Admiral Hipper has a better figure and better attitude than you?" Prinz Eugen teased her sister, Admiral Hipper.
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING FLAT-CHESTED WITH AN ATTITUDE PROBLEM!?" Admiral Hipper angrily shouted at Prinz Eugen.
"Your words, not mine~" Prinz Eugen snarked.
"Umm, can you explain what's going on?" Z23 asked.
"I will explain what's going on after we reach a safer location. Now, follow me!" the other Admiral Hipper smiled as she instructed.
Over the horizon, they were able to see a warship flying high above the sky. Explosions and gunshots slowly got louder. This warship floating above was currently under attack. Kansen-like girls were defending the flying warship. It was under attack by Sirens and some other variations of them. Each of them weaved through the battlefield.
"Hey, Hipper! Who are those girls? Are they also other worlders??" One girl with a ponytail and a pair of cat ears asked.
"Yes, they are! See this blonde girl?" the other Admiral Hipper grabbed Admiral Hipper.
"H-HAH?!"
"She is me from the other world!"
"Wow! I am quite jealous! I hope I meet the other me soon!" The ponytail cat girl continued as she fired salvos.
The starboard of the flying warship exploded and something fell off the ship after the explosion.
"Someone fell off the ship!"
"Who is it?!"
"I think it's Sam!"
"Sam fell off the ship!"
"Oh no! The ship has entered the portal! They left Sam!"
"Hipper! Go and fetch Sam!"
"jawohl!" She immediately dashes towards the area where Sam fell. The other Admiral Hipper immediately fished 'Sam' out of the water who was just floating in the water like a log nonchalantly.
"Is she okay?" Enterprise asked.
"Umm, Sam is a he..." She mentioned.
"Ah! I-I'm sorry…"
"It's okay. Everyone mistook him for a girl cuz of that long low ponytail. Um, I hope he didn't hear that or he will cry for sure!"
"I'm… not… a… girl…" Sam mumbled as he passed out.
"A-anyways. Let's bring him back to our base!" The other Admiral Hipper carried Sam on her back.
The base slowly comes into view. A lot of girls were waiting at the port, they didn't recognize some of the girls but other kansens they knew were present in the base.
"Akagi and the rest are also here! Did they get transported as well?" Javelin asked.
Akagi was talking to three girls. Two of them were both wearing Japanese clothing. The first one on the left sported a short skirt, while the second one on the right wore a longer one; both of them had long brown hair. Both have bow and arrow equipment hanging in their back. Both were also eating cup noodles. The third one was a girl wearing a school uniform and she had short brown ponytailed hair.
"Oh my. Did you all also get transported to this world?" Akagi asked.
"Seems like it." Enterprise answered.
"Who are they, Miss Akagi?" Ayanami asked.
"How am I gonna explain this?" Akagi scratched her head.
"You three! Go introduce yourself." she ordered.
"H-hello! I'm Fubuki!" the girl wearing a school uniform with a short brown ponytail introduced herself.
"Eh?"
The two girls with near-identical hairstyles both swallowed the noodles they were eating and cleaned their faces with a napkin.
"I am Akagi!" They both introduced themselves at the same time and is in sync with each other.
"EH?!"
