Chapter 32 - Part 32

Canary had made an impression, Not just on her. But to everyone else at the orphanage.

Canary parked his car and stepped into the Andersons Mansion.

The warm glow of the chandelier lit up the entrance, and the faint sound of classical music played softly in the background.

As he walked into the living room, he spotted Lucy by the window, crocheting with calm precision.

A basket of yarn rested by her feet, and her focus was entirely on the delicate pattern she was creating.

"Evening, Mom," Canary greeted.

Lucy looked up, her face lighting up with a welcoming smile. "You're back. I was starting to wonder where you'd gone off to."

"Got a bit caught up," Canary replied, avoiding specifics as he sank into the armchair across from her. "Lost track of time."

" Where have you been since yesterday ?" She inquired.

Canary shifted in his seat, his fingers tapping lightly on the armrest as he glanced over at Lucy. The house was quiet, and he felt a pull to share something he hadn't yet.

"I've been spending time with someone lately," he said, his voice more serious than usual. "A girl."

Lucy looked up, her expression curious. "A girlfriend, then?"

Canary nodded, his face softening slightly. "Yeah. And this time, it's real."

Lucy's brow furrowed, and she set her crochet work aside, her full attention on him. "Real?"

"Yeah," he said, his tone firm yet calm. "I know I've had my share of… casual relationships. But this one's different. It's not just about fun anymore. It's… meaningful."

Lucy studied him, her expression softening as she considered his words. "I'm glad to hear that, Canary. But who is she ?"

He exhaled, the tension lifting a little from his shoulders. "I will tell you when the time is right , Mom."

He walked away after this leaving Lucy in suspense.

Lucy's thoughts wandered back to that moment when she'd seen Regina speaking to Canary, the way their eyes had met, the subtle chemistry between them.

A sinking feeling tugged at her, though she couldn't quite explain why.

Could it be that girl ? Lucy wondered not remembering Regina's name.

' It makes sense. She and Canary looked so close with Canary. And she was too beautiful, His type I guess.'

On reaching his room Canary had a shower and checked something from the PC before sleeping off. He had to sleep early because he had to go for work the following day.

***

The following day, Canary stepped out of a meeting, his mind still lingering on the decisions that had been made.

Michael, his ever-present assistant, walked beside him, ready to update him on the next round of tasks for the day.

As they made their way down the hallway toward Canary's office, they happened to cross paths with Lisa.

She was walking in the opposite direction, her usual casual yet confident stride catching Canary's eye.

The moment their gazes met, both of them smiled, a shared warmth passing between them that was almost tangible.

There was an ease in the way their eyes lingered on each other, and Michael couldn't help but notice the subtle connection.

Once Canary was settled in his office, Michael couldn't help but tease him.

"You and Lisa seem to be on good terms these days ," he said with a grin.

Canary glanced up, slightly flustered. "What do you mean?"

Michael smirked. "The way you two smiled at each other. Definitely more than just a 'good moring '"

Canary shrugged, trying to stay casual. "It's nothing, Michael. Just a smile."

Michael raised an eyebrow. "If you finally confessed your feelings to her, It's nice to see you this relaxed "

" Hi.." Canaru muttered.

" At least my boss is finally in love. I can't wait…" Micheal spoke teasingly and left.
