" Okay, Bring him inside ! " Kevin spoke going back inside.
The two men rushed Leo to the one of the rooms. Myra was asked to stay out of the room.
" Doctor, You have to save him please ! " She cried.
" Don't worry. Doctor Kevin uses herbals that heal people immediately. " Agnes said to comfort her as the Doctor went to the room.
" It's late. We are going to sleep. " Said Jacob to Myra.
" Thank you all for helping us. I don't know how I can pay you . " Myra sobbed.
" That's how we do things in this village. We be there for each other. " Michael told her.
" Yes..I have a free room at my house and it's very near. How about you come and catch some sleep ? " Agnes asked.
" Miss , I appreciate everything but i can't leave Leo behind.Besides, Can you lend me your phone and I make a call ? " Myra said and asked.
" Sorry, This Island has no network. So you will have to wait until your friend heals and go back home with hi
. " Micheal sided with Agnes.
" I appreciate your kindness. Thank you. If Doctor Kevin sends him off, I will surely bring him. " Myra agreed.
" Okay sweet heart. We shall get going. " Agnes said and left with Micheal, Jacob and his wife.
Most of the houses were made of wood which is something Myra wasn't used to being in but she had no option but to wait for Leo's operation. She sat in the small waiting room on a wooden bench. It was somehow but she ensured that and waited until the Doctor came out of the room.
" Doctor, How is he ? " Myra asked.
" I have operated and outsome medicine on his wound. " The old man said.
Myra sighed in relief.." Thank you Doctor. Can I see him now ? " She asked impatiently.
" You can but he has to be sent to a Medical Hospital out of this Island.." Said the Doctor.
" Doctor, Can't You treat him completely ? We can't go back to the City yet. The men who hurt him must be looking for us. They want us dead. " Said Myra.
" Well, Then we have to send for his medicine from the city. It will incur some costs. You have to get money. " Said Kevin.
" I don't have money right now. " Myra said in confusion but then remembered the necklace she was carrying on her neck.
' Mom, I am sorry. I must do this to save Leo. '
She thought and then removed it.
" This necklace is very expensive. If sold, I am sure we can get enough money to buy the medicine. " She proclaimed as she gave him the necklace.
Kevin removed his spectacles and observed the necklace.
" It looks original.. " He mattered out.
" Then help me sell it. Let me go to see him now. " Myra said and opened the door to enter the room.
" Your clothes are wet, Come get something to change first . " Kevin said and went to a room with her where he threw her a white over shirt and a grey skirt that was long to her toes. Putting them on made her look like a typical viallage girl but she was still beautiful.
After this she went to the room Leo had been operated from.
A tear came from her eyes when she observed the very small room that had no furniture except one shelf of drawers. There was no bed too and Leo just lied there on the mattress that was on the floor near the wall.It was covered with a mosquito net.
She slowly crept towards him and entered the net. She sat on the buttom head of the mattress and stared below at Leo who lay unconscious.
" Leo, You can't leave like this okay. You have to get well." She begun talking with wet eyes.
She put her hands on his forehead and begun caressing his hairs.
" I am going to watch over and take care of you until you get well." She added and removed her hands from him.
She kept silent and watched him until she noticed his body was shivering little and when sje touched his throat he was very cold.
Myra got scared and ran the Old Doctor who was just going to enter his bed.
" Doctor Kevin
.." Myra called.
" Oh my God, Won't someone catch some sleep ? " Kevin asked lazily while he went to open the door.
" What is it now ? " He asked.
" Leo is very cold. What do I do ? " Myra asked with worry evidence in hr eyes that forced Kevin to go and check on Leo.
He checked his forehead and sighed. " I think it's the cold from the sea. " He looked back at Myra who looked all worried.
" Go get a stove to warm him up. " He said.
Myra obeyed and went to pick it . she put some charcoal and kept on blowing to increase the heat which begun warming him up and she did this with much care while she checked on his temperature now and then.
She did this until she was caught by sleep.
Sunday W6
Leo opened his eyes at around 10am and found himself in the small room. The last thing he could remember at the moment was Myra walking with across the shore while she called out loud for help.
His face was so pale and dry than before and he was too weak to do anything.
While he turned around he found Myra sleeping besides him with her face facing him.
She looked so beautiful ang calm and he stared at her.
' What is she doing here ?' He asked himself after staring at her for a while until he realized that her body was not covered by a blanket.
He slowly begun pulling the blanket away from him to her but the pain from the wound gave him groans and his movements woke her up and she opened her eyes only to stare at him.
" Leo…" She called and got up immediately removing the blanket from herself as she covered him back.
He looked up at her with his dry face.
