Alek looked at the sharp metal shining from the light and took a deep breath. She then slashed the palm of her left hand.
"Itttttttttttaaaa!" Alek almost cried. She had cut deeper than she expected. The knife was sharp! "Where is the cup?" She then looked around for a cup-like thing to pour her blood and, realised she had forgotten to prepare it.
Bia sighed when her sister looked at her with teary eyes. She knew what her sister was thinking. Alek wanted help from her.
"Here. Take this. It can last for five minutes." Gemma quickly made a magical cup out of the magic, which she was not used to.
"Thank you." Alek gasped and took the green cup to pour her almost overflowing blood. She filled the cup about a shot and tied the cut with her handkerchief.
[Okay, Ryuu. It's your turn now.]
Kiryuu took over her with a little bit of complication and trouble. She was gasping when she took over and worried some people. She had her hands on her knees and, her face was hidden.
"I'm okay." She put her hand up and told them. She still had the knife in her right hand. "Dangerous." She then smirked at Bia through her hair.
She stood up straight and looked for a place to cut. She wasn't allowed to cut the same place, so she picked her the palm of the right hand.
'Sorry Alek.' She apologised in her mind before slashing her palm. She flinched a little from the pain. Indeed, the knife was sharp and could cut deeper than expected. She then poured the blood into the cup Alek gave to her brother. The blood wasn't pouring like she had expected maybe because she cut at a bad place so, she needed to put her hand in her fist to draw blood out of her body.
"Is this enough?" Kiryuu asked the boy.
"Yes." When she heard that, she healed the wound. The healing process took longer than expected and, by the time Alek took the control back, she had to gulp the blood before the cup could disappear.
Alek was absolutely disgusted by the taste and everything about blood and, the moment she finished, she really wanted to puke it all out.
"Don't." Kai instructed her. He saw how much she was struggling to keep the blood in her system. "You are able to shift now. How do you feel?"
"Disgusted." Alek spoke through her teeth. She wanted to drink as much water as possible but since none of them brought it, she needed to suffer. "Apart from that, I don't feel anything. Wait." She placed her hand over her stomach.
"What is it?" Jin asked carefully.
"My stomach is churning. I am really about to remove it. Blood don't belong in stomach." The blood was going flowing backwards to her mouth and, she spatted the blood to the nearby tree when she successfully got away from people.
"Oh my." Vibia looked away from the scene and closed her eyes.
"I did my best to keep it in as much a possible." Alek coughed out the blood and wiped the blood off her mouth. When she came out from behind the tree, they all took a step back from her. Her wiping the blood from her mouth actually made it look worse. Now she looked like a newly born vampire who didn't know how to drink blood so, she ended up killing the victim by splitting her neck. Plus, the mixture of blood and saliva was dripping from her mouth, which left them speechless.
"You look most vampire compared to the vampires I've met in my entire life." Vibia commented and handed her her handkerchief.
"Really? I've had some imaginations about vampires. I've never met one, though. Can I meet one?" Alek spoke as she wiped her literally bloody mouth. The handkerchief, which was originally baby pink, turned red by passing seconds.
"You will surely meet one shortly. So this didn't work, huh? Was this even the right formula?" Vibia asked Rin who had the book.
"I think what the book is saying is right for calling out our trapped beasts to break out." He calmly read through the page and spoke.
"So all that was for nothing?" Alek asked. The handkerchief was all red and made her wonder if it was red when it was given.
"Apparently." Rin answered.
"Than what should do?" She grabbed her head in frustration.
"I think I know what you should do." Iris spoke out and, all the eyes turned to look at the youngest.
"When we first shift, modern form comes out by and accident and then the ancient form comes out to tame them, right? So the ancient form is like the protector of us and would try to fight off. I think the same goes for Alek too. We need to get a foreign modern form's blood in her body to activate the other ancient form."
Alek's mind went blank from listening to her cousin. This cousin of her's was smart.
"So you are saying that the other form is going to activate to fight off the modern form that doesn't belong there." Pollux put his hand at his chin.
"And since Kiryuu is too weak to fight, the other form will definitely come... That's amazing, jellybean!" Jin concluded and raised his sister off the ground and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
Iris smiled in the air with her brother's hands under her armpits. She was in a good mood.
"That can actually work..." Kai also had the same posture as Rin. "Try it."
"Who's blood am I taking now?" Alek asked her brother and, Bia took the knife without hesitation from Alek's palm. She let her snake take over. Yuzuruha came onto the surface and breathed in. She cut her left palm without a sign of pain and put it over Alek's mouth.
"Drink." Yuzuruha's voice was deep and animalistic. Sweet showing Bia's hidden side.
Alek blinked a couple of times to get what was happening. Before she knew it, the blood burned at her throat and, she couldn't take the blood anymore and pushed her away to get space.
"Get... away." Alek gasped as she held her burning throat. Iris method was working and, she didn't want anyone to be near her when she shifted. She knew she was going to be big.
She wobbly walked away from the group as they also retreated from her. She fell on her knees when the fire reached her stomach and, she felt it on fire. She really wanted to pull put her stomach to relieve the pain but kept her hands on the ground so, that she would not harm herself. If she gets hurt, it was going to be Kiryuu, who was going to heal her.
Alek began spitting out the blood she had in her mouth but, the pain didn't stop. Instead, it worsened. It spread over her body. Her skin burnt and, she was in excruciating pain. She knew this pain. This was how she felt when she first shifted into Kiryuu. She wished To go numb from all the pain and wonder why she hadn't lost consciousness. Her body was liquid while her bones were in particles. That was what she was feeling. She screamed in pain and rolled on the ground. She wanted ice. Ice to cover her body. This was the first time she envied the man trapped in ice in ancient times.
Her mind began to go blank as she couldn't keep her eyes open. She began feeling her bones elongate and connect to someplace else. She felt her organs moving inside of her but, she was helpless against it and let it do its job.
Alek lost consciousness before scales began showing on her body. The scales were different from the ones of Kiryuu: it was different colours depending on the parts of the body. Because the shift wasn't forceful, her clothes didn't shred. Unlike the first-ever time she shifted, she was shifting wholly and, they needed to run away from her just as one of her feet was about to smash them onto the ground.
When Alek woke up again, she saw her family really far away and so tiny. What the f*ck?! Why is she so tall? She was taller than any of the trees in the forest and could see the mountain far away from there. Did Kiryuu take over? How was she in the air?
As Alek wondered in her hazed mind, people looking up at her was speechless. The thing she was many times bigger than Kiryuu and Yuzuruha. It couldn't even be compared. They were worms compared to Alek.
Alek tried to fly to her family and tell them that the shift failed but, she somehow stumbled. Wait, why did she stumble like she had legs? Kiryuu had legs but, her legs were short. She tried to see what was happening so, she bent down just for a tree to prickle her eyes.
She cried out and realised her voice didn't sound neither her's or Kiryuu's. It sounded purely animal. And the voice reminded her of the scream of Godzilla. Because she shook her head violently when the tree prickled her eyes, she had actually lost control and fell to the ground. It was too late for Alk to do anything, thus, she grunted when she landed on the ground with a powerful earthquake that sent birds flying out of the forest and caused the leaves on the ground to fly in the air that took everyone's sight.
When the leaves settled, the group approached the beast cautiously and examined it.
"Oh my God. The other is a dinosaur." Vibia gasped as she touched the scales around the eyes.
