The atmosphere in the room was cold and heavy. Alek had just gotten to know the other half of her and, now there was a chance her beast or even herself would die.
"Even though you can't heal me, is there a way to get Kiryuu better? She is suffering because of me. I was weak and, she paid the price. If there is, I wouldn't hesitate." Alek asked while keeping her hands on the wound. It wasn't causing her pain but, it was causing pain to Kiryuu.
"Leave. I want to have a private meeting with my grandchildren. Put a silencing spell." Vibia ordered. Some things needed to be discussed only within the family.
The women on the line bowed before leaving the room. When they all went outside, there was a symbol the echoed in the hall. It was emerald green and looked like Gemma did what she was told. She was half pixie. She was capable of that.
"I received a call from Yukari. You have two ancient forms, right Alek? Many people know that you had your first shift but, only a handful knows about your two ancient beasts." The grandmother asked her granddaughter. She was all serious and, her easy-going nature was gone.
"I do have two forms but, I don't know how or why. I have only been able to communicate with Kiryuu. I can't feel the other's presence." It was always Kiryuu and her. She didn't know how the heck she had two of them. Were Kiryuu twins? That would be really, really weird.
"Maybe triggering the other beast would be able to save you both."
"Minaki said I should ask grandma. Grandma Mikoto." Alek added to dissolve the confusion.
"You contact her right now. She definitely know something." Vibia ordered. It was known to the whole family that Mikoto and Vibia were somehow not on good terms.
"Okay." Alek took out the phone she had in her pocket of the pants she was given.
"Hello?" Mikoto took a long time answering the phone.
"Hi, grandma."
"Hi, Alektrona. How have you been? I hope you are going well in this new world." Mikoto sounded happy, worried and a little bit guilty.
"I am doing well. I got a talisman in my body and, Ryuu is suffering because of it. Ryuu is the name of my other half. I think you already know about my weird condition about having two ancient forms. The talisman is powerful that if I don't heal it, it could kill her and also me within a week. I am at one of the watchtowers in Mutsuki with Jin and my siblings. Grandma Vibia said that maybe the other form can heal both of us."
"When did you find out about the talisman?" Mikoto asked after a minute of silence.
"Just now. We were attacked by werewolves who were ordered by some shifters. If they killed or brought us back alive to them, they would be given money. They were given injections with the talisman for our capture. They failed and, they were killed."
Was that a good summary?
Alek asked herself.
"Have you checked the place where the wolves made the contact with the shifters?"
"I-"
"We did." Vibia replied. Since Alek was sitting next to her, she could hear the other grandmother talking. "I sent my people to a bar called Apate. They got nothing out of it."
"Vibia. It's been a while since I heard your voice." Mikoto spoke coldly.
"The same goes for me too." Vibia mimicked the tone and, the conversation died there. Alek kept on glancing at the phone she handed out to Vibia and her grandmother.
"Anyway," Alek asked when she couldn't bear the moment. "Do you know the way to trigger my other half?" She retracted the phone so that it wouldn't suffer from staring at Mama Mutsuki.
"Do you have the book I gave you? It's in there."
"But the book was blank." Ale had looked through the book with her sister and there was nothing apart from autographs in the pretty book.
"Write your name on it. Some pages are for our beasts and, you can't read them. I ahe to go sweetie. Stay healthy." Mikoto hung up the phone.
"O-okay." Alek put the phone away from her ears. "Apparently, there is a way to trigger the beast in the family heirloom of Minazuki. The book is in my room at my home. I am going to get it." She sat up and was leaving the room when Vibia stopped her.
"Is your father in the house?"
"No. I don't know. Let me ask." Alek quickly texted her father and got a reply without waiting. "He is back."
"Okay then. Take Gemma with you. She is able to teleport you to the house since your father has the mark that Gemma gifted him."
"What do you mean a mark that was gifted to dad? Like the ones they have?" Kai asked and looked at the twins. The marks on the twins' wrists were there clean and fresh.
A knock came before Vibia could answer.
"My lady." Gemma had bowed her head when she came in and closed the door behind her.
"Take Alek to her house. She needs to bring back something. Bring her back when she gets it. I can't let Destiny do this since the way pixies, fae and witches teleport is different and she is not familiar with Minazuki. At least Robin knows you."
"Yes, ma'am. Ms Minazuki, would you take my hand?" Gemma nodded and held out her hand to the girl. Alek took her hand, and within a second, they vanished into thin air in front of six people. The place where they were, left a green symbol that slowly died out like a firework.
Alek and Gemma were standing in front of the backside of the house. The same symbol that was left by the guard was under them and disappeared the same way.
"Wow." Alek was expecting something from the way Linett-Parisa did to teleport to the Sibhruion castle.
"I will wait." Gemma let go of Alek's hand.
"Thank you." Alek jogged to the house and opened her room window. She always forgot to lock the window but, it was doing a good job at times like this.
The house's base was thick and, it took a few jumps to enter the room safely. Alek rolled on the floor as she lost control when trying to bring her other leg into the room. Thankfully, the floor was filled with books and, it didn't make that much sound.
Thank goodness the window was located closer to Aleks side than Bia's.
She stood up and went to her bed to reach the shelf. She found the beautifully carved book and grabbed it. That was when someone burst into the room and made Alek drop the book to the floor.
"Alek? I thought it was a thief or something." Panacea sighed when it was her daughter, lying on the bed. "You are back. I didn't hear you."
"Kinda." Alek replied.
"Where is everyone else? Wait, what are you wearing? Do not tell me you were in a club in the middle of a weekday?!" Her mother put her hands over her mouth.
"No! No, no, mum! How did you come to that kind of conclusion?" Alek got off the bed and, her mother gasped even more.
Her daughter was wearing a navy blue jumpsuit that she had never seen. It was elegant and suited her but that wasn't the matter. She wasn't wearing them when she left for tourism with her cousins and siblings. How the heck did she get her hands on this?
"Where did you go? Do not tell me you dragged other people in it, Alek. I can't believe you!"
"No, mum! Listen to me! I did got to the mall to watch a movie with everyone." Alek spoke.
"Then how are you in this?! Explain to me!" She pointed at the clothes from up and down.
"That's what I'm trying to do! We got into things and, we met grandma Vibia. She took us to the watchtowers of Mutsuki then I realised, O forgot somethings that I wanted to show her, so I came back." Alek told her vaguely.
"The nearest watchtower of Mutsuki in this area is thirty minutes away in a car. How are you here then?" Panacea asked.
"A guard of hers teleported me here. I actually need to go back, mum." Alek pushed her mother out of the room and went to grab the book. She put it in the space in her chest where a flower was decorated. When the book got it, it became a little poppy but not weird.
"Is it Gemma?" Yeah. Alek walked to the back door and, her mother was right behind her.
"Yeah."
"Then I am going to say hi." Panacea opened the door and walked outside to the forest.
"Good afternoon, my lady." Gemma noticed Panacea walking towards her before Panacea noticed her. She bowed her head.
"Good afternoon, Gemma. It has been a while. I hope you and Harris are doing well."
"We are. Thank you for asking." Gemma smiled softly at the woman. She suddenly looked into space in between them, but they didn't say anything. They knew she was in the middle of the mind link. "As much as I want to keep chatting, I received a call. I have to go back. It was nice seeing you." She spoke after several seconds.
"I understand. I look forward on meeting you as well." Panacea nodded and, Alek held Gemma's hand.
"I'll be back for dinner, I think..." Alek and Gemma disappeared before Panacea could reply.
