Chapter 86 - Tattoo (2)

Alek stayed in that position for a long time. The room was getting dark but, she didn't stand up to switch on the lights. She was thinking about what or how she would say to her best friends when she met them. She wasn't confident whether she could keep all of the secrets inside her.

'I wish they were supernaturals like me. I wouldn't have to worry about them being in danger and. I wouldn't have to feel guilty about it.'

Wait, what the heck did she just think about?! That's an absurd idea. Why did she think that way? Why was she thinking about the reality where she could abandon her responsibility and not feel guilty? That is just selfish and stupid!

[Alek, dinner's ready.] Bia quietly told her in her head.

[Okay. Thanks. I'll be there.]

[Got it.] Bia was a bit worried about her sister's state because of what she did before in the room and her tone right now. She volunteered to tell Alek that the food was ready when Kai was about to call her. The part of the reason why she did it was that she wanted to apologise for earlier. It wasn't appropriate and, she would be mad if Alek did the same thing to her.

[You have something else?] Alek asked when her sister was not leaving.

[Umm, nothing. Just oozing out.] Bia smiled. [Sorry.] With that, she cut off the mind link and went back to her own mind. She was not used to apologising, especially to her sister, because when looking at her eyes, she just couldn't bring herself to apologise and, she often felt guilty about it later.

"For what?" Alek voiced out.

She checked the time with her phone and saw that it was already seven-thirty pm. She took a deep breath before deciding to sit up to go and eat dinner, as her sister had said.

Alek walked out of the room in search of her room first so that she could keep her phone there and charge it while she ate. She walked in the opposite way of how she came because she knew her room and the second living room was close. She had talked to Bia in their room while she was in the hospital room and knew that it wasn't far.

She walked to the next corridor and saw that her room was there.

'How the heck is my room here?'

She checked the inside to make sure that it was she and her sisters' room.

'So did I take a whole detour to the room that was literary next corridor? What the eff?!'

Alek walked into the room, found a phone charger her sister was using. Probably, her sister didn't bring it for her, and she had to use hers. She checked the percentage of it before removing it and charging it. Her phone was at thirty per cent and, she didn't know how it was like that since she hadn't used it in two weeks and, her phone percentage was usually about eighty per cent.

She checked messages one more time before she left the room and went to the dining room. She knew where it was since she had taken a walk to the room when she was taking a bath this afternoon.

She got a bit confused about directions but reached the dining room within five minutes of leaving her room.

"Hello, Alek. Are you feeling better?" Minaki was already at the table and was sitting at the head. Her parents, aunt and uncle, cousins, siblings and Junto and Izumi and Yukari were already at the table eating.

"Hello. Thanks to you, I am feeling better and, my body is not in pain anymore." Alek blushed when she realised she was late. Thankfully, her mother had saved a seat next to her and, she didn't have to look for one.

"Well, I am not sure if it was the doctors who healed you. I think your animal healed you wholly, right?"

"How did you know? My body was feeling better but, I didn't think it would be okay to remove the bandages, so I asked Kiryuu to heal me." She sat down at the table and began serving her food. "The bandages were itchy."

Yukari giggled silently to that before continuing to eat.

"I used to get bandages when I was young. It was sure itchy. There were man things I couldn't do because of them." Minaki laughed and told her.

"Really? I thought you get help just like I did and, you wouldn't be in need of bandages."

"Darling, our animals have mood swings. If they wanted us to heal, they would heal us. If they didn't want to, then we would not get help from them. Because we share our bodies, our healing abilities are faster even when they are not helping us. I am happy that your dragon was willing to help." Minaki stopped his fork and talked.

"But I promised her that she can take over when she wants to. It is not fair for her to stay inside of me all the time and use her when I need her. Just like you said, we share our bodies. She should be free just like me." Alek smiled. She put her hands together and began eating. There were mashed potatoes, lentil soup, vegetable paella with the lasagna Iris made in the afternoon.

"That's a very good idea. You are very considerate of your beast. Sometimes, it can be bad, but I do think you will be able to handle it." Yukari spoke in a soft tone that was like a soft breeze of spring.

"Thank you. I have told her not to come out in public but, I will be careful."

"I have a question for all of you. I have been wondering for a while." Alek swallowed the soup and looked at people. "You guys have two forms, right? Modern and ancient. Are they different creatures? Like for Bia, her green mamba becomes titanoboa or they are completely different?"

"Our modern form and the ancient form is like one separated into two, but like mother and child. They have the same names but different personalities." Yukari explained it very easily.

"Does that mean my forms are like same people too?" Alek asked. She somehow had two ancient forms and if that's the logic then maybe Kiryuu and the other form be connected in some way like the modern and ancient animals.

"I am not sure about that but, I don't think so. I have asked Novah for more information on your case and, she told me that only modern and ancient can be like that and not ancient to ancient. But there may be a connection between you and the the other or Kiryuu with the other in some ways that we don't know." Minaki replied to her next because he felt like his wife was going to give her a short answer which would be hard to decipher.

"Oh. I wish I knew how it felt to have two same people but not the same." Alek looked down and spoke.

"I would love to see two different beasts in you. When you meet your grandmother the next time, you should ask her how to trigger the other one." He replied to her in a happy tone that she wouldn't feel out of place. It was normal to have modern and ancient forms when you were a leading clan member but, Alek was the first case and, no one really knows what happened to make her like that. She must be feeling not well as she wasn't like the others.

"I will ask her." She smiled.

"What's that on your wrists, Jin, Rin?" Astraea finally noticed the tattoos on her sons' wrist and asked. From her position, their wrists were not visible and, now when Jin was reaching out for food and, Rins wrist was no longer covered from Jin's figure, she could finally see it.

"Uhh, I met this person today and, she gave me this for like a friendship mark. It's okay. I like it. I've got no problem with it. This actually satisfies my want of tattoos." Castor answered his mother and looked at his brother.

"Yep. For me, I got it from another person. We became friends and yeah, something like that."

"Have you got any, Alek? You were with them the whole day." Astraea turned to look at her niece. She didn't mind her children getting tattoos if that was what they wanted. It was their body and, she shouldn't be taking away their freedom. However, if Alek got one because she felt pressured or anything, she would make the twins beg for her forgiveness.

"Uhh, yeah. I got it from another person and mine is pink. It is pretty." Alek didn't want to answer it but, she gave a vague answer. If the twins didn't want to spill the beans, neither is she going to.

Bia looked at her sister with raised eyebrows. She was sitting in the middle of her twins and saw both of the tattoos. In the end, she didn't ask the twins about tattoos because she felt like she was going too far. They were different from each other in colours and designs. If her sister got it from a pixie, who did they get it from? It didn't have any symbols of pixie or humans. Jin's had vines and water with so many tiny details she couldn't comprehend. Rin's also had water with trees with crosses axes, and a spear cutting through them.

"Really? They didn't force you into this, right? Her aunt asked worriedly.

"No. I chose this by myself and, I am satisfied with it."

"Thank goodness."

"Alek, you are going to explain to me later, okay sweetheart?" Panacea smiled at her daughter with a smile that wasn't formed because of happiness.

"Yes, ma'am."
