"Where is Novah?" Alek asked because maybe with her, she could turn again with control next time.
"She left a week ago. She stayed with us for a week and tried to control your animal but it was too strong. She left because there was nothing she could do to bring you back." Panacea answered.
"Oh." Alek visibly dropped her shoulders.
"You weren't thinking about shifting again with Novah's help. Were you?" Kai asked.
His sister opened her mouth and closed with an apologetic gaze telling him, 'I can't help it.'
"No, Alek. You are not shifting again." Bia told her sister. "You went out of control. You don't know how much trouble we had trying to bring you down!"
Bia instantly regretted what she had just said when she saw Alek's face. She hurt her sister with harsh words she didn't intend to say. She wanted her sister to be safe and not do anything dangerous.
"Sorry... But you get what I'm trying to say, right? We don't know how to bring you back if you shift. Your beast wants to stay in control. You came back I don't know-how. We can't guarantee that you will come back the next time you shift. We are not taking that risk." Bia told her sister desperately. She wanted her sister to understand what she felt.
"I do get you, Bia. But I want to. The beast in me probably knows more than me and, all of us do. And I promise to come back. I will take back my body in whatever ways possible." Alek replied. She knew shifting again would be a gamble. "If Novah still wants to take part in it..." She looked up at her parents.
"She is on her way." Yukari spoke out of nowhere and startled everyone.
"Pardon?" Bia asked.
"She just called Novah if she wants to help Alek control her beast and, she said yes without a beat." Minaki replied for Bia. His wife wasn't a very talkative person and, it would be a miracle if she continued talking for five minutes straight.
"Why would she agree? I mean, I'm not complaining. I just want to know. She knows that I can be dangerous to everyone when I shift." Alek said.
"She has been feeling like she was responsible for what happened since she forcefully shifted you. She was the one who shifted you but not shifted you back." Minaki answered. Nagatsuki and Novah were pretty close since they were the ones who helped her escape from Yayoi when she was almost sold on an auction in the supernatural world.
"She shouldn't..." Alek spoke. Novah helped her determine that she was a shapeshifter. She was thankful to her because she cleared the doubt she had in her mind of her being not a shapeshifter like her family. She was able to regain her confidence because of Novah's existence. She would forever be in debt.
"I'm here!" Novah came into the room after Alek spoke. She was breathing hard and, when she saw Alek in the bed, she rushed TO her and held her hands. "I'm so sorry, Alektrona. I should have brought you back!" She was teary. "I'm so sorry!"
"Hi, Novah. And it's not your fault that I went out of control. I was weak and let the thing take over me." Alek tapped on Navah's back to comfort her.
''Thing', huh? I'm surprised you have the audacity to say that when I have been protecting all your life!'
"Eh?" Alek looked up when she heard a voice. She looked at her sister because that was where she thought it came from. "Did you say anything?"
"No." Bia told her while squinting her eyes sightly. "Why?"
"I thought I heard you talk. Probably my imagination." Alek laughed it off and turned her attention back towards the Yayoi. "Anyway, you shouldn't be apologising. I should be. I couldn't have confirmed myself a shapeshifter because of you but, instead, I went berserk and put everyone in danger. I'm sorry." She then turned to people in the room. "I'm so sorry, you guys. It would not happen again."
'You shouldn't be apologising. Especially the one next to you and the man behind her. They are not worthy.'
The same voice rang into her ears. This time she looked at Kai because it sounded like it came from him.
"What?" Kai felt the gaze and asked.
'Not that one, idiot. Next to you.'
Alek looked at her sister in confusion.
"What?" Bia also asked.
"Did anyone talk right now?" Alek asked everyone in the room. Since she replied to Novah, only a few people spoke. It was getting creepy.
"No." Panacea replied and, Novah got away from Alek to sit next to Rin on the bed.
'I don't want to hear it from you.' Someone spoke again.
"Is there anyone outside the door?" She looked at the door in front of her.
Iris checked immediately and found no one. She shook her head.
Everyone was becoming tense from the weirdness of Alek.
'Just let me out! They will pay for what they did.' The voice urged her.
"Who is this?" Alek asked out loud and received a confused look from people in the room.
'Nevemind. I will come out myself.' The voice was angry but went silent soon.
"Grrr." Alek suddenly growled and made her family and friends alert.
Alek's eyes were back to the beast and, it was glaring at her parents next to her. She reached out her not-animal hands to her mother.
"What are you doing?" Alek stopped her own hand with the other and asked the voice. Her eyes were back to normal but soon changed back to the animals.
"I told you they were going to pay for what they did." From the people in the room point of view, Alek replied to herself. But her voice did not sound hers, but to the beast that had taken control of her for the past two weeks. Then she reached out the hand again.
"What are you talking about?" Alek took back control.
"They knew but didn't do anything. They now have to repay for the sin they have committed." The beast took control back and replied furiously.
"No." Alek stopped herself from reaching her mother's neck and took back control. She then spoke. "I need o shift now. It's slipping out of my control."
When Alek said that, everybody moved and began to prepare.
"I will shift in the cell I was in before. It would be easier for me and you guys, I think." She told them when she saw people coming into the room with chains and cuffs.
Minaki nodded. "Come with me."
Alek quickly followed him back to the cell and let her family put her in cuffs again. "Could you remove my ring and keep it? I don't want to have any chances of it getting destroyed." Alek asked her sister and, she did as she was told. "Thanks."
"Are you ready?" Novah asked once everyone was outside of the cell. They were still in the room.
As soon as Alek nodded her head, she felt the pain she felt when Novah was shifting her, but this time, it was slightly weaker, and she was able to not scream. She still groaned. The pain continued for eight minutes before Alek's beast was released from Alek.
"Hi." Kai smiled and told his sister's animal.
The beast looked at where she was and looked at the people in front of her. "This? Again?"
"You can talk." Jin mumbled. He never knew she was able to communicate since the last time they met. When she was in here the last time, she didn't reply to anyone and kept on repeating the same thing.
The beast sneered at the twin.
"What is your name?" Novah asked when the beast looked up with its golden-yellow eyes shining.
"Kiryuu." The beast answered and looked for the two she had been trying to revenge.
"They are not here." Kai answered when the beast was looking around the room. "Why are you looking for them?"
"They need to pay." Alek smiled like a devil before she inhaled a deep breath. "They are outside the door, I see." She then shifted her arms and shifted. Breaking the cuffs and chains that held her in place.
"What the..." None of them expected this to happen because she was not able to do this the previous time. Then they realised they had treated her wounds, and she was back to normal.
"Surprise." Alek smiled and bent the bars of the cell and kicked the door of the room. All of this happened in less than a second and, everyone was stunned by this.
She quickly put her hands on her parents' neck and pinned them on the neck, slightly off ground. "You shouldn't have done that. You should have thought of a way to save him when you knew." She spoke, showing off the razor-sharp fangs she had.
"I don't know what you are talking about..." Robin answered and, Alek tightened her hands.
"Lie!" She sneered at them.
Everyone got out of the room in haste to find Alek and her parents in a situation they never wanted.
"I will kill you." Alek told them.
"Do it." Panacea looked straight into her daughter's eyes while she was losing her breath.
Alek blinked coupled of times before she exerted more strength on their neck. They were almost suffocating but not enough to kill them. She was actually looking at them with disbelief in her eyes.
"You can't..." Panacea told her and touched her daughters face.
Alek screamed in pain and released them when her mother touched her face.
"I'm sorry." Alek told them when she was done screaming. She was back into control.
"It's okay, sweetie." Panacea got up from the floor and hugged her daughter.
"Can you explain to me what just happened?" Alek asked while hugging her mother.
