It was just after six in the morning, barely light outside. The leaders of General Surgery Department Two had returned exceptionally early today, and the head nurse was also back quite soon. The incident involving bed 62 last night had the head nurse explode in anger as soon as she was informed.
"You say they wouldn't let you in, but could you just not go in? Do you not realize that this responsibility is yours!" For once, the head nurse actually slammed her hand on the table addressing our girls.
"We told the doctor."
"If the doctor can't handle it, you need to come up with your own solution. You should have called the nursing department's night shift in-charge or me to inform us of the issue and ask for assistance."
Like the doctors, the nursing department also has a head nurse on duty at night to handle any major nursing emergencies that might arise throughout the hospital. Usually, experienced head nurses take turns in this role.
