Chapter 33 - Old Seer

After Allynna is in deep sleep, Leon suddenly appears near the glass window in her room. He stood still for a moment, looking at her from afar.

Even though the room was dimly lit, only lit by the lamp on the side of the bed, Leon could clearly see that the girl's face looked flawless and innocent.

Leon felt something warm inside his heart, only staring at her face for a moment. He didn't realize a faint smile graced his face before slowly moving toward the bed and sitting on the side of the bed.

His hand moved towards her face but stopped his movement right before he touched her pale cheek. His eyebrow furrowed when he felt his heartbeat raced.

He immediately stood up and retreated towards the window. After taking one last glance at her, he disappeared from the room.

...

Leon appears in a spacious bedroom in one of his castles at Mavaria, the capital city of the Bellsor Empire.

He stood still near the big window, staring at the full moon shining bright in the clear night sky.

His mind travels back to the first time he heard an old seer reading his fate a few years ago.

"Your Highness, you are destined only to have one love, one passion for only one woman. You can only marry and make love with your fiance." That old Seer said.

At that time, Leon ignored the old Seer's words.

Leon did not believe in fate and thought people had complete control over their lives. The prophecy of the Old Seer sounds ridiculous to him.

However, as time passed, when Leon grew older, what the Old Seer had said became a reality.

When Leon reached 17 years old, he realized that he had never been interested in girls. He had no feelings of attraction to girls. Not only was his mind and heart unattracted to girls, but he had never felt any arousal at all when close to a girl.

When Leon was 19 years old, he started to be concerned about his sexual condition. His strange sexual orientation, or asexual orientation, to be precise, bothered him.

Because Leon does not feel attracted to women or men either, sometimes he thinks that his sexual orientation belongs to the non-binary group.

One day, when Leon and his friends celebrated their 20th birthday, one of his close friends advised him to test the prophecy. To find out if it is true or not.

To his surprise, what the Old Seer said was true. Leon simply couldn't feel any lust, arousal, or sexual passion toward the most beautiful woman and man in the empire.

Even several times Leon tried with others, the result remained the same. Still, Leon was grateful because he still felt compassion, care, and love, but in a non-sexual way.

However, as the only heir to the Bellsor Empire throne, Leon was frightened for the Kingdom's future. Yes, they are immortal, but he doesn't want to be an emperor forever.

Leon wishes to love a woman. To mate and have children with her. And someday to crown his children as his successor. But how can he have a successor if he does not desire to mate?

A few weeks after his 20th birthday, Leon was scared and confused about it. His grandfather finally tells him the secret of his engagement when he is still young.

...

It was a lovely summer. Leon was a six-year-old boy. On one of the summer nights, a sleeping Leon suddenly shone brightly.

His parents and grandfather could feel the incredible power coming from a sleeping Leon. At the same time, not too far from their castle, a girl was born. She was born with a bright light radiating from her body.

Leon's grandfather could sense the baby girl's strength, too. The power coming from Leon and the newborn baby was powerful and had a similar pattern.

He then secretly instructs his most trusted guards to bring the newborn baby and her parents to their castle. Once they gathered, Leon and the baby girl were betrothed by Leon's grandfather as a fiancee. Surprisingly, once the knot was tied, the light disappeared as if the universe blessed the engagement.

However, an unexpected and unfortunate incident occurred. Suddenly, the newborn baby was kidnapped two days later.

The situation was ridiculous because Leon was already bound by magic with his newborn fiancee.

If only the newborn baby didn't disappear, Leon wouldn't have to worry about not having a successor. But, with her kidnapping, the situation became uncertain.

...

Leon has grown up. He fully realizes that he can't have children with any other woman except his fiancé. So, he starts pursuing his missing fiancée.

Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and months turned into years, but he couldn't find any trace of his missing fiancé. Several times, Leon wanted to give up looking for her.

Leon also thought his missing fiance was dead.

However, The Old Seer said his fiancé is still alive. But the Seer didn't know where her location was. The Old Seer could only confirm that his fiancé was still breathing and existed in the empire.

A glimmer of hope makes Leon start to look for her again.

Leon didn't want his inability to have children because if his mortal enemies found out, they would appear to snatch his throne.

So, his mission to find his missing fiancé is top secret. Even his mother and father didn't know what he was doing. He looked for her alone, assisted by his trusted people.

Leon wandered all over the place looking for his missing fiance, but his efforts were in vain. He still can't find her.

Nevertheless, earlier this year, when he started to quit looking for her, he accidentally bumped into her in the middle of the streets in Mavaria. That accidental meeting puts his life back on track.

But Leon didn't rush to pick her up. He let her live in Sarlun with her adoptive parents, who immensely love her. He just observed her from afar.

Leon planned to pick her up after she finished her exams before she turned 17. However, when he learns that both of her adoptive parents died in a car accident, he is forced to change his plans.
