Chapter 3 - Marry Me

Two weeks have passed since her parents died.

Every day that painful loss still haunts her.

But other than the horrible pain and suffering Allynna felt in her heart, the days are gone uneventfully.

Now, Allynna is sitting in her chair in her classroom.

One by one, her friends left the class. Slowly, the room that had been bustling turned into silence. She is the only one in the classroom.

Her eyes saw the window and looked far out into the sea outside. The sea looked so calm this afternoon, and the sun shone brightly.

A gentle breeze came in through the open window and slapped her cheek gently.

Allynna slowly closed her eyes and was again lost in her thoughts, remembering her parents' sudden departure from this world and leaving her alone.

...

"Ally, Ally... Allynna!"

Someone cried her name from the door.

Allynna snapped out and slowly turned her gaze towards the classroom door. She saw a tall man with red curly hair standing at the door. He is Helan, Allynna's class head.

"Yes, Helan!?" She asks him.

"Ally, Principal Pearcy asked you to come to his office. Now!" He said.

Allynna tried to calm her heart and mind before she stood from her chair. Then, walk to the principal's office.

She didn't go straight in when she arrived at the principal's office. She waited for a moment.

After knocking twice on the door, she heard Principal Pearcy's distinctive low-pitched voice from inside the room asking her to come in.

She opened the door and went inside. To her surprise, she saw another person sitting on the sofa. A young man she had never seen before.

The young man had a strong aura, like a man from a royal family. He looked dazzling with short, messy dark blonde hair, a clean face, and thick eyebrows.

Allynna was mesmerized when their eyes met; as if something sucked her into his shining golden eyes, she could only blink and couldn't move at all.

After some time...

She finally can move. Quickly, she turned her gaze toward Principal Pearcy.

The young man who sat on a single sofa with his legs crossed smiled silently when he saw the girl he was looking for standing before him.

The girl doesn't look tall, just as high as his chest. Her face is small with a light skin tone. She had a dainty nose and thick eyebrows that perfectly framed her jade-like eyes. Her dark blonde wavy hair flows beautifully down her back.

She looks beautiful but not the usual kind of beauty; her beauty is so innocent that it comes out from her heart, not just what it looks like on the outside.

His lips curled into a cold smile, 'We finally met my bride!'

"Allynna, please sit." Principal Pearcy asks her.

She sat on the sofa, farthest from the young man, with a strong aura who stared at her like he wanted to read her mind. She felt something inside her react when she saw this mysterious man. But she didn't know what it was.

At this time, she has chosen to keep a safe distance from him.

"Principal Pearcy, what's wrong? Why did you call me?" Allynna asked.

"Well, not me. But, this young master was looking for you..." Principal Pearcy said, then stood up from his chair.

Principal Pearcy turned his gaze to the young master and respectfully said, "My Lord, this is Allynna Frost. You can talk to her. I will wait outside." He bowed his head toward the young man and walked towards the door.

Allynna found it strange to see Principal Pearcy with such respect for this young man. Yet, he was a very respected person on Sarlun Island. He had equal status with government officials.

But why must he bow and call this man, My Lord?

She feels puzzled.

When Allynna saw the door closed, she looked at the young man with a strong aura.

She was startled when she saw the young man staring intently at her.

"Hello, Halfmoon," He said with a deep, charming voice.

Allynna froze for a moment. Her eyes narrow at the man.

"M-Mister, who are you? How do you—" She said in a stuttering voice, but before she finished her sentence, the young man spoke,

"You don't need to know who I am and how I know about you, Miss Allynna'' His eyes stare sharply at Allynna's jade-looking eyes. At the same time, his hand touched the gold signet ring on his little finger.

After a second pause, he continued, "I came to you to offer you one thing."

"Offering something!?"

"Miss Allynna, I can help you to find your real parents."

Allynna was surprised to hear that.

How could he know she has a real family?

No one knows!

Even Allynna had only found out recently.

Before her parents died, Allynna learned that she was adopted and not her parents' biological daughter.

After her parents died, she became curious and wanted to know why her biological parents abandoned her on this small island. And, since a few days ago, this has become her priority: To find out about his past.

"Miss Allynna, would you like to know your birth parents?" The mysterious man's cold and emotionless voice brought her out of her thoughts.

She immediately nodded, agreeing with his offer.

"But, I have two conditions." He said coldly.

Allynna silently took a deep sigh. Her witty mind knows it! There is no such thing as a free lunch in this world.

After a few seconds of silence, she bravely asks him, "Conditions? I need to know what they are first before I can say anything. So, what are the conditions?"

The man stood up from the sofa gracefully.

His long black coat hung down to his knees as he stood majestically towards the large window pane. He looked at the scenery out of the window with his back facing Allynna.

Allynna's gaze followed the man's movement. She had never seen a man as handsome and perfect as this mysterious man in her entire life on this island.

"First, you need to move to the Capital."

"Second. I want you to marry me willingly." He said without looking at her.

'W-H-A-T??' She shouted in her mind in shock. 'Is this man crazy? Asking me to marry on the first time er met?' Her eyes widened in disbelief at what she had just heard.

His first condition was still acceptable. Because she did plan to move to the capital, Mavaria, she was determined to follow the clue she received.

But...

'The second condition, MARRY HIM!? What the hell was he thinking about? Does he want me to be his wife? For real? Has he gone mad? Am I underage? Does he want to make me his servant? So he deliberately said he wanted to marry me. Is he a pervert?' Countless question now fills her mind.

Allynna can't understand this young man's thoughts. She wanted to look into his eyes and find out what he was thinking. But the man didn't look at her as if what he said was a joke.

After some time...

The man did not hear the girl speak. He turned his body to see her. A faint smile appeared on his face before saying, "You don't have to worry. I won't make you my servant. I need you to be beside me as my wife. And, Miss Allynna, this is real. As real as it can get..."

Allynna was dumbstruck.

Her hand trembles when she realizes something. 'This man, he can he read my mind?'

Allynna believes this young and mysterious man is the chosen one. People are born with Innate Ability, as she reads about in history books of the Bellsor Empire.

Before Allynna could say anything, the man continued, "And I will never touch you until you're legally old enough to get married, Miss Allynna Frost." He seriously said while walking back to the sofa and sitting opposite her.

The room was quiet again.

No one speaks.

Allynna tried to calm her mind and think fast. After a few minutes of thinking, she realized that, at this time, she had no choice. She had to go to the capital and find her real family.

After all, on this island, she has no family anymore. And this young man offered her something she was looking for. Also, this man didn't seem like an evil person either, except for one thing: his aura was so strong that she felt intimidated by his presence.

'Should I agree with his term?' Allynna wonders. She still had plenty of time until her legal age to get married, which is still a year away.

After some time, she finally decides to move on. She will agree to marry him.

"I agree," Allynna said softly, praying that this man would let her go before turning eighteen.
