Splash. The liquid poured all over the lady with brown hair and green eyes who squeezed her hand fan angrily at the laughs of all the customers in the boutique.
"I am Elisa, the daughter of Count Julian! And yet you do this! I will NEVER forget this Erionella Renowarin!"
She angrily stomped out of the boutique in tears at the laughter and murmurs of the customers.
'Damn it. I think I just messed up. I just entered this boutique ten minutes ago and yet this has happened!'
TEN MINUTES AGO
The carriage stopped in front of a fancy boutique as Crinoel got down and held out his hand for Erionella and Irliona and Sophella got down from the back.
The door of the boutique was opened by the guard Crinoel brought with him.
And a world of beautiful dresses came into Erionella's view. Different designs, styles and colors of gowns fiilled her eye as she swooned over a particular gown which stood alone and boldly on a mannequin.
It was the same color as her butterflies. Black and green. With chiffon and lace short sleeves and cashmere at the collar region.
A low green décolletage, next to a black constricted bodice sewn with an almost transparent green and black jeweled lace round it.
It was about five inches below the knee and would be great to wear for a VERY important event.
But she knew it would cost a chocking amount, so she was about to turn around and look at other dresses, then.
"We'll take this dress" Crinoel said pointing at the dress she was eying.
The attendant looked at the couple and said arrogantly "This dress is very pricy as it is a specially exclusive made dress, and even if you could buy it, the Madam doesn't sell her dress to just anyone. She sells only to the peak of nobility."
Maybe it was due to the Duke's plain dressing and Erionella looking like a Count's daughter that she was, was the reason why the attendant could say such things.
"I'd like to see the Madam" Crinoel said as he smiled gently and sat comfortably on the couch.
"The Madam cannot COME and see anyone. People go to meet her" The attendant said as he looked down on Crinoel.
"Fine. Take me to her" Crinoel got up and the haughty attendant took him somewhere.
"I'll be back and you'll get that dress" Crinoel said to Erionella as he left.
'Rest in Peace, boutique attendant'
After Erionella helped the attendant say his final prayers she looked at more dresses and picked out some.
Even without the Duke, she could afford at least quarter of the dresses in the boutique.
In a month, each servant of the Renowarin mansion was paid fifteen small gold coins.
For a commoner family made up of a father, mother and two children to live a comfortable life, with adequate clothing, food, shelter and maybe entertainment for a year, they would spend sixty-five small gold coins.
Sixty-five small gold coins was equivalent to thirteen big gold coins. So one big gold coin was five small gold coins.
As the eldest daughter of the Renowarin family, her monthly allowance was seven hundred small gold coins which was one-hundred and forty big gold coins.
She chose dresses that would befit her status. She couldn't dress to plainly.
Of course, she wasn't buying everything she saw, she just admired most outifits with Sophella.
'And the most expensive gown I've collected is ten small gold coins~ Though I'm currently rich enough to live a super comfortable life for the rest of the year I'll be in this world, it doesn't mean I should squander all my money!
Before I leave this world I could give all my money to a poor orphanage'
An attendant was passing with a tray of cranberry juice which she happily bought and quickly gulped down.
'Is it really wise to be serving CRANBERRY juice in a boutique filled with dresses at every corner? Haven't they ever heard of someone pouring their drink?'
"You!" An approaching voice shouted as a finger was pointed at her face. It was a lady with brown hair and green eyes, who she thought she had seen somewhere.
'Oh, the shovel girl. Count Julian's daughter was it.'
"You think you have the right to be engaged to Duke Garcia?! Well you are hell wrong! Only I, Elisa Julian can be the Duke's fiancée" Count Julian's daughter, Elisa said angrily as she stomped her feet.
Erionella decided it would be best to ignore the girl, so she continued selecting clothes when a ribbon on her dress was pulled away forcefully almost enough to knock her down.
"You dare ignore me! All because you used some kind of magic on my Duke! Or else why else would he get engaged to you, when you're not as beautiful as me!
I heard you came here with some lowly man, you unfaithful thing who should be sticking to the Duke, but look at how dirty you are, rolling around with other filth!" Elisa said smugly as she raised her fan and put it under nose with a scornful look.
"Calling me a lowly man and 'you're duke'. Saying you, a complete stranger deserves to be my fiancée; isn't it too much rubbish from one mouth"
A cold voice cut through the air as Elisa turned around and her eyes bulged as she looked at the figure of the man she was madly in love with hold the hand of another woman. Then he pointed at the ribbon she held in her hand
"You dare touch the dress of my fiancée, the future DUCHESS OF GARCIA. My carriage is right there outside"
All the onlookers of the commotion turned towards the window and looked at the big white carriage which bared the symbol of the Dukedom of Garcia.
"I had seen them come out of that carriage." Somebody whispered.
"Did the Duke dress up so plainly just for his fiancée, he must really love her" Another person murmured.
"They're such a great couple!"
"Oh Duke, I know you don't mean what you say. That witch has done something to you!" Elisa said angrily as she pointed at Erionella.
Crinoel was obviously in stance to summon his sword when Erionella stopped him and she snickered and laughed sarcastically.
"Wow the bitch alarm is ringing a bit too loudly~ Girlfriend, you've got a bad case of delusion which needs to be cured before it gets uglier and you would not want to see that. And frankly, it might be uglier than that makeup on your face." Then she took a dramatic pause and covered her mouth in surprise
"Wait, oh my gosh, is that your actual face! I thought it was sad makeup done by a new born baby monkey!
And a baby monkey who was sad at how ugly it was born so it tried to depict an image of something uglier than it.
And wow, the monkey really succeeded, well that is if it isn't your real face but if it is, I hope you pray to the creator of this world really hardly and after your done maybe you'll find a nice rich baron to get married to and become his fiancée as you're desperate for one" Erionella said innocently as she signaled to Sophella and Irliona to get her bags as she was leaving.
While Crinoel topped their grand exit as he said to one of the attendants coolly "I've spoken to your Madam about that dress" He said referring to the grand dress. "Deliver it to my mansion near the imperial palace. Dear fiancee, were do you want to go next? ~"
"Hmm, I'll think about it in the carriage. Bye Lady Julian~" Erionella chirped as she was about to leave the boutique with Crinoel who was giving the attendant an address.
Elisa angrily gritted her teeth and clenched her fist as she swooped in her palm for a slap on Erionella's face.
But Erionella quickly dodged and out of defense reflex she mistakenly picked up a glass of cranberry juice and poured it all over Elisa.
"I am Elisa, the daughter of Count Julian! And yet you do this! I will NEVER forget this Erionella Renowarin!"
She angrily stomped out of the boutique in tears at the laughter and murmurs of the customers.
Recalling the event of a few minutes ago made Erionella a bit more satisfied as she had dealt with that delusional girl. She faced the Duke and opened her mouth to ask a question.
"How come you helped me?"
Will Erionella encounter Elisa Julian again? Has she now made an enemy? And why did the Duke help Erionella when he pointed a sword at her neck the previous day?
All questions shall be answered in time.
