"NO SON OF MINE IS GOING TO WEAR MAKEUP!"
Samuel had been caught! He had been hiding his makeup in his schoolbag when his father happened to decide to look through it without a reason! So now Sam was once again pacing in his little room as he listened muted yelling and stared at his father's spittle ridden mouth. While sam was pacing he suddenly had a thought. What if I do my makeup in here? But as soon as he had that thought he must have either missed or at least missplaced a "Yes sir." or an "I understand sir" because father had grabbed him and as a 14 year old he knew what this meant. no sooner had he had this thought as searing pain that couldn't be ignored brings him out of his saferoom.
"This is for your own good! God says what to do with children who disobey, "Spare the rod, spoil the child! I love you Samuel. I don't want you to burn in hell!"
Samuel tried to let it roll off of him like waves on a rock, but due to the fiery lines on his back and butt he can't help but hear it... and he feels it. He knows it is true, he is gross and whay he does is unnatural. . . Why did God make me like this then? I guess God just loves me the same way father does... must be why one of him is called God the Father.. Sam chuckled at an inopportune time bringing on even more "Love".

Sam got home and to her surprise father wasn't home yet.. She ran to her room, pushing the door which was off it's hinges enough to get in and then closing it behind her. Sam wondered if it was possible that he had gotten in a bad car accident and died. Maybe he went on a business trip again and didn't notice Sam's absence. She laid down and blinked when her phone went off.
She looked at the time as she unlocked her phone. It had been three hours already. "Hello, may I ask who is calling?"
"Hey Samuel your mother and I were wondering if you wanted to get dinner? We had reservations for four but Greg came down with something and Wilma is taking care of him."
As always Sam felt obligated and still felt bad about missing the sermon. Not that he wanted to hear it, after all Sam lost her faith long ago when she learned that love doesn't hurt. "Sure I have to get dressed."
"Okay meet us at Charlie's in half an hour, thanks for visiting mom's grave this morning. I asked Tandy to send me a copy of the sermon after it airs so you wont miss one. I love you Samuel."
"No worries dad, thanks for remembering."
It was an uneventful dinner with too much talk of their religion. Sam thought, "Atleast the steak was good even if the company was lacking."

Matthew had never been on a date with a man before. He had a girlfriend in school but she only liked him for his looks. "I always was a catch.. is it weird to ask someone out like that? He asked me to lunch first though!"
Matt tossed and turned trying to sleep for his work in 6 hours. After tossing and turning for hours he got up to get a drink of water and then sat down on his armchair. He started to read the book he had gotten from the library today... well yesterday... I don't know. why is it I always overthink things?
It is just a date. "Once upon a time" I have been on dates before. "There lived a prince" But why does my stomach get so fluttery when I think about it? "He was always a queer little boy" Even with Margo I never felt like this. "As he grew he was hurt by the world" Even when we... ... "The prince was made whole again, the end"... All of the sudden Matt was out like a light. A soft beeping was unheard in the next room over. Then again after twenty minutes. Matthew once again didn't hear it. Then another five minutes later Ring RING RING.
"Hello?" matt said groggily.
"I am not stalking you... I happened to be passing by where we met. I didn't see you running for the bus.. And you told me you sleep through your alarms... Sorry for calling I am sure you are already at work." *Click* Dial tone.
SHIT! I missed my bus again FUCK! Oh no, oh no! Matt already dialed Sam back. "Thank you so much for calling. Is it possible for you to swing by and give me a ride? I know you might be busy but I really need this job. I can pay for your time!"
Silence, oh no he hates me. He probably doesn't want a chronically late boyfriend.. He is going to cancel our date and I am going to lose my job. Over the phone he hears a soft whisper that he recognizes... and a phantom tap on his shoulder. He calms down almost immediately and he hears, "I am at the bus stop but it might be faster if I pick you up from your apartment. Where is that by the way?"
Matt feels like the luckiest man alive as he tells Sam his address. Matt was already thinking of how he needed to clean up his apartment for when he invites Sam over... wait what do you mean for when I invite him over? Isn't it a bit fast to be thinking of... him and me... his.. ehem uh so I am no longer bicurious, I am pretty sure all things considered.
He rushed out the door with some uncooked toast with some butter on it in his mouth as he ran down the stairs, skipping steps along the way and jumping the last five. Matt ran through the lobby and saw Sam sitting in his car right out of the door. The ride was delightful despite Sam's teasing. Work was pretty drab though. When he clocked out for the day Sam was already there now with flowery earrings and makeup on.
I should learn to do makeup! His eyeliner looks so good on him. I hope I dont get any lipstick on my uniform. Wait... do you think he might? Technically I asked him out though.. This is the first date why are you already thinking of making out with her? Uh him...
"You going to stand there and stare at my face all day? Though I don't mind, we have to get to the theater by three." Sam says softly.
"Sorry, your makeup is really good..." he went around and got in the passenger seat. "So... King?"
"Of course. Bovarian Rhapsody is our song."
On the way in, to Sam's surprise and honestly even to Matt's, he grabbed Sam's arm and they held hands into the theater. Sam didn't get any concessions because she wanted to continue to hold his hand. They went to a movie about a dog and a family. by the end of it Matt figured he was going to need to wash his work clothes since so much makeup had run onto it from Sam's crying. She was so cute. He.. why did I do that again?
-----
I don't even know why I am crying. They loved their baby so much. Now he won't want to go on a date again.. why am I like this? I think and then I look up to Matthew, his chiseled jaw and his lips are so close to mine. I hope he takes a hint. I lean towards him ever so slightly. As our lips lock I find that he did take a hint. And as our lips part I find that I am no longer sad, though I am sad that there wasn't more.
"Sorry to interrupt fellas but the movie is over so I need to clean. If you want to keep going don't mind me." The movie attendant said when he noticed we pulled apart as soon as he walked in.
"Lets go, I know a place where we can continue this if you like."
Matt looked dazed before saying, "Yeah I would love that."
