Bullet 13

"But, agent Williams," called Thomas "we can not solve this matter easily, so we must wait until the department becomes able to cooperate."
"Joseph, please, lend me your hand! I need you to fix the cameras and bring the videos back, I want you to make them available to use, I really want your help, so please, fo your best. I only have faith in you. You have to do it!"
Her words put Joseph under the pressure, as if he was the only savior to solve that issue, otherwise he might lose others trust in him or lose his rank in the FBI, he felt that the fate of that mission was depending on him, the search of the criminal was referring to him and his work's rank was endangered. Sweat dripped on his face and made dark circles under his arms as he turned red and suffocated. His head pounded with tension as he swirled in a vortex of thousands of questions prowling through his mind.
The world around him started to blur as he thought about the scene in front of him. He could hear the blood roaring in my ears, his breathing became fast and short, and his head spinning. He closed his eyes, trying to shake the feeling, but that only made it worse.
He tried to slow his breathing and calm his heart but his mind and heart were racing each other, his mind winning, and he could not focus on anything. Time felt like it was stopped and going way too fast at the same time. As the blood pounded in his ears, his hands shook and feet tingled. Then, his vision disfigured, as if he were looking through a fish-eye lens.
He vaguely heard a voice coming from somewhere behind him but then it was gone, the roaring in his ears then overwhelmingly loud. Every sound echoed loudly, his head hurt worse than a migraine, the air was dense around him but it felt like he was flying, not touching anything but himself.
Something that happens to him was a shut down of the senses. It was like going into paralysis while fully conscious, but not in the sense of being unable to process things. He was still conscious of himself and things around him, but when he had a severe attack he lost the ability to see or hear. Everything went black and he had trouble hearing anyone speaking to him, and all he could focus on was not fainting. His hands, fingers, and feet would contort into a crooked shape that could only bring to mind what would happen to a body during rigor mortis.
Then, something touched his shoulder and he felt his body being warmed by a gentle yet firm touch. Time slowed as he felt the hot temperature, of the one who was holding him, on his freezing cold body. His body still shaking violently as the person was tightly pressing his shoulder to ease the stiffness, letting their warmth seep into his frost-covered form. Slowly but surely, the world stopped spinning and he began to hear their voice, young and gentle, calming and reassuring. He looked up at the person to see that it was Emina, smiling assuringly at him, when it was the first time he could see her smile as she was surly most of the times, it was an angelic smile radiating warmth.
He did as told, to the best of his ability, focusing on the work between his hands, knowing that fate was depending on him. His heart slowly calmed, the blood in his ears quieting, his body stilling, his breathing slowing and deepening, the sounds of the forest starting to tickle his ears once more and his fingers started moving swiftly again. He let out a sigh of relief, letting the panic leave finally him.
"Williams…" murmured Joseph "You look so cute.."
"Emina can actually smile?" commented Flora "And she did it for tgat idiot? Wow! I am shocked!"
Thomas looked at her for a long moment as if he was sinking deeper in the sea of her beauty, he smiled as he saw her wearing that adorable face, and kind of felt jealous for having her smile to another man then he said: "Maybe, she just feels guilty for pressing on him, so she wanted to make him feel at ease.."
"Joseph, I am sorry for making you anxious.." she started "As I pressured you, you could not focus on your work anymore, and I am sorry in the name of Captain Christen for threatening you. I only need your help, because I am so worried about solving that risky case, so I do not want you to destroy our evidence, so please work at ease, do not feel any pressured and act wisely. I have my all faith in you!"
"Trust me.." replied Joseph "Leader.."
All if them were surprised by Emina's kindness, they did not witness that soft side of hers since she was always tough and keen, so they were a bit of satisfied to know that their captain is considerate and understanding. She became all of sudden, not only the genius bossy leader but also the sympathetic lovely leader.
Then, he returned to his world of electronics and focused on the little chip in his hand, looking only at it and moved his hand like a dancing swan in its territory. He was professional for sure.
An hour later, while everyone was waiting for the results, Joseph had finally finished his work. He handed it to Thomas in order to work on returning the videos on it. Looking at the little chip, he was amazed by his work, for that he returned it as a new SD card, hiding all of the debris, scratches, splits and cracks from it and stuck it all in a one completed chip.
Thomas took the SD card and inserted it into his computer to start his work, as it was expected some videos were missing, especially the old ones, so he had to retrieve all of the data.
