Chereads / Eden's Hope / Chapter 4 - Multiverse

Chapter 4 - Multiverse

Days, months, years.

Julius doesn't know how long had he been sleeping. Inside a bed-like structure, there lies a man of his prime within deep sleep.

In the room, there's a small girl, around 5'6, with a black hair currently busy managing something.

Ela punched the control desk as she found it frustrating.

Ever since they left the solar system, it's been always like this. The theorized exo planets that have been found by them can't even support a small amount of life. From the Rocky planets that have thin atmosphere to the oceanic ones that no land can even be used to land.

Ela had the worst mood ever since Julius sleep, even her created subordinates had to be smashed every time a star system was deemed worthless.

(Damn it. Master, what should I do?)

She can only hope that her master, despite sleeping, can answer her desperate questions.

She needs to find a planet suitable for her master's life. A place that only her master can use to live.

Even if she got destroy. She will do anything for her master. Her program doesn't tell her this, but what she really thought.

(For over a thousands of star system, never once I have found a single habitable planet.)

The frustration makes her beautiful face look haggard, and as if telling the other to stay away, her subordinates can't even come near because of her aura.

(Activate Hyperdrive. Coordinating De-3'1)

(Hyperdrive Activated, arriving at destination at t-3 seconds.)

(Ahh!!!!)

(Miss Ela, please be at ease.)

Smash

(You don't tell me what to do!)

A flying robot then appeared and smash through the walls of the cockpit.

The small group of robots then starts to collect the destroyed one and quickly left the room to save it.

The unusual yet usual thing that happens inside the cockpit.

If not for Julius being there, Ela might have destroyed the cockpit as well.

(This has gone beyond reasonable!)

And just like that, the frustrated AI continues her search.

*****

(Beautiful.)

In front of Ela. A hole that far exceed the ship's which is massive enough to house an entire colony, can be seen floating silently.

(My ship, with a length of around 10,000 kilometers, can't even be compared to this gigantic hole.)

Is it a black hole? No.

If it's a black hole, even if her ship has its own gravity, it won't even be able to escape from it with this distance.

(According to my analysis and data. This thing is a wormhole. It can be used to travel between spaces in a short amount of time.)

(However, is that truly the correct answer?)

In a universe were there's always uncertainty. Humans won't even be able to understand what's the true meaning of it.

What's a blackhole? What's a wormhole?

No one knows.

Except for her.

(A truly magnificent creation by the universe. How beautiful can you be?)

(Analyze Wormhole structure.)

(Analyzing.)

"How long have I been sleeping?"

Kyaaa!

Startled, Ela suddenly turn her head to face the sleepy face of her master.

Wait. Sleepy face?

(M-master?! What are you doing?)

"What do you mean? I'm awake?"

Ela doesn't know what to say except left her mouth open. Julius find this funny and simply made a small laugh.

(I thought you scheduled to be awake at...)

"Thirty years? You're kidding right? What's the use of immortality if I can't even see what's beyond my world?"

(T-that's true. But how do you know I haven't seen any planet for you?)

"That's because I know it won't happen."

With a confused expression, Ela remain still as Julius walk towards her.

After reaching, he hug her gently and scrub her back.

"How have you been? Is it hard?"

(Y-yes.)

"My poor partner. Hehe"

Silence remains inside as both of them hug each other for a while. Until Julius notice the unusual thing in front of him.

However, he soon look surprise as he further read the details found in the screen.

"I see."

Julius reach for the screen where wormhole is and gently move his hand to zoom it in.

"Back when I was at earth, I met this cheerful girl. She had royal bloods on her so we keep ourselves from each other, but of course, fate is too strong for us to change it."

"At the age of 10 we met when my father attended a certain meeting. There we met, her beautiful blue eyes struck my heart for a second until we can't find each other anymore."

"However, our meeting soon became frequent as both of our parents meet from time to time. There I was able to meet her."

(What's her name?)

"Charlotte. Beautiful, isn't it?"

(Well yeah.)

Julius pinched the already red cheek of Ela as she pout out of jealousy.

(What happen?)

"Just like our parents, we met very often. And just like that we soon find our chemistry to be compatible."

(Is that so?)

"Someone's jealous!"

(No, I'm not!)

Julius kiss Ela's forehead to ease her mind as he continue his backstory.

"We meet and meet until we were able to confirm something."

(What is it?)

"In your memory, do you recall the girl who won the noble prize for confirming the theory of Multiverse."

(Yes.)

"That's her. And I help her do that."

(Really?!)

"Yes, really."

(So that's why I have a great amount of knowledge regarding wormholes. Wait, how is that related?)

"Well, we should confirm it for ourselves like we did back then with Charlotte."

(You don't mean...)

Ela's face turnex grim as she thought about the possibility of us entering the wormhole.

Unfortunately, or rather, fortunately, her mind's deeply connected to mine.

Julius smirk as he reach for the controllers of the ship and slowly move forward to the wormhole.

Thus, a massive ship was gone out of nowhere leaving no evidence of disappearance.
