Chereads / Master Of The Yin Yang / Chapter 32 - Ascension

Chapter 32 - Ascension

I was eighty percent done fusing with the Nekomata exactly one year later. Nazo blazed fear through the land and was the strongest in the world. My brother was under his control and was stuck with a lost corpse.

The elder Nekomata, Lord Shengoku, has passed away and his seat is under discussion among the village's remaining leaders. His death put a pause on my training and I was unable to finish, and he was the only one who knew how to help me. Some say that he died of natural causes, but it didn't seem right. He was found by a few male nekomatas, and they didn't make sense when they explained what happened.

The whole reason for my coming here was to become strong enough to defeat and kill Nazo. Now I am sitting on my bed contemplating whether I should leave the village and find Nazo or help my homeland. On top of that, I have to figure out how to use the remaining twenty percent of my power.

Then a banging on my door began, and Jominara shouted for me to come out. I wasn't in the mood and told her that I wasn't feeling it today. She hissed and warped through the door. She went on about how I needed to get out and how I needed to get over the old man and move on. I became outraged and told her to go away. I admit, I was mad at her for trying to help me, but she was being insensitive.

She told me that she was trying to help me get over the bad side of life. I could only reply with cries of frustration, saying that I didn't know what I was going to do. Jominara jumped out of bed and told me that the elder cat had told her something that meant everything. I asked her what he told her, and she said that he told her the key to learning is to let go of personal restrictions.

In my mind, I had no restrictions attached to me; I couldn't think of any anyway. She told me that everyone has restrictions. She was a bit dragging when she laid out some ideas like family, love, hate, and things of that nature. I thought about it for a bit, and nothing really clicked but my anxiousness to finish my training. She couldn't figure out what made me tick, so she shot an idea in my direction.

She told me that there was a single bath house that was good for giving ideas, and she recommended that I use it tonight to try to think about it. I told her I would but believed it would be useless. I would know if something was bothering me. The time was mid-day and I had nothing to do but pass the time, so I decided to practice some of my fighting techniques.

While doing so, I was trying to think of something that could put a lock on my training. It could be that I keep leaving people without saying anything to them, like Eqihr and my group. But I had a feeling that it wasn't it at all. They knew what happened when I left, so I had to leave them.

To think of it, Nazo really grinds my gears because he is the reason why Manny is a puppet. As I punched the tree, I used some force when I thought about him hard enough. The tree broke and flew off the side of Mount K Proce. Pain coursed through my mouth as two sets of fangs replaced four of my teeth. Then I ran my mother through my head, and I became heated, and my black and purple aura ruptured from me and looked like a flame directing upward. My eyes changed. I knew this because during my training I used this form to extend my time to keep it going for a long time.

I looked at a puddle of water and saw my reflection. I looked hard enough and I saw my friends and family's faces next to mine. I didn't know what this meant, but I knew it was something important. I waved the water away and looked at the sky. I was clueless. I couldn't make out exactly what I wanted.

The elder nekomata told me that their species specializes in necromancy. This means they are able to contact the dead. However, I don't see how this would help me defeat Nazo.

While striking a tree, my form diminished and I was normal. I turned away for a second, and I swore I could see Nagi in the corner of my eye. But when I turned back, he was gone, as if he had never been there. I thought I was going crazy, so I finished up and headed back to my home.

While I walked, my prowess was in sensory mode. This way, I could sense when someone was coming. The only thing wrong with sensory mode is that while it is active, you cannot use any other abilities.

As I approached the village, my sensory mode sensed a familiar scent. It sensed Amoi's scent, and I didn't imagine it; it was him. I ran across the village like a chicken without its head. Sera ran into me freaking out and calmed me down by asking me what was going on. I told her that I could feel my brother's presence. She didn't know what to say, so she took me to Jominara, who was in the middle of eating. When Sera told her she found me like this, Jominara rushed me to the top of the mountain. She tossed me in the middle of some pillars with runes carved into them. She waved her hands and some rope-like objects grabbed onto my wrist and restrained me.

Sera asked her what she was doing, and all she said was that she was doing what Shengoku wanted her to. Then, a single chain levitated and shot into me. The chain turned black and purple and triggered my new form. I was in so much pain that I tugged at the chains on my wrist and shouted to the sky. My aura burst into the clouds like one million fireworks. The pain dialed down like a jab in the chest, and Jominara asked if I felt OK.

I told her yes while catching my breath and soon after asked her what she did to me. She said that she did what Shengoku told her to. She looked worried, as if something had happened to me. I asked her why she made such atrocious faces at me. She told me that I look like a cat, but she also mentioned that I still look human as well. My eyes shot open as I looked at my hands. I had sharp nails like a cat. Sera asked if they put a nekomata inside me or something else. Jominara agreed and added that I looked like a bakeneko.

I asked them what it was, but they only said that it was something worse than a nekomata. They took me back to my place with a disguise on. Many people didn't mind that but were attracted by the sky. My aura that exploded in the clouds made the weather change. The clouds turned purple whenever lightning struck. The rain was normal and didn't compare to the cloud that covered the entire mountain.

I sat against my bed while feeling completely different from when I did before. I took it as my full power inside me, but it didn't feel like it. I have a new form and it doubles my last one. Sera and Jominara told me that a bakeneko could be inside me, and I don't even know what that is.

I got on my bed and entered my mind space, and it looked like I was in the clouds I created. I stood on water, and heavy clouds were at the surface. I looked around a little and heard voices hiding in the clouds. I then followed them, and the volume remained the same as I scattered across the floor.

My eyes became cloudy and I soon fell to the floor. I sank into the floor below me and ended up in a forest. I could see some of the woodland, but not as far.

As I guided myself around the trees and dirt, I could see members of my family as I approached a small stone temple. On top of it stood Nazo, and he was holding his hands out and both Yin and Yang were in his palms. I walked to the statue and reached out to the spirits, and they exploded.

Nazo's statue became animated and attacked me. I dodged and evaded him until he had me against a tree. He said that I would never get the Yin-Yang spirits back. He pulled a rod out and stabbed her in the stomach. After that, he faded and I began to crumble like dirt.

When I shot back up to reality, I came to realize that one of my family members was the reason why I couldn't reach my full power.

I was sweating, so I grabbed my things and went to the bathhouse.
