Chereads / Master Of The Yin Yang / Chapter 7 - Importance

Chapter 7 - Importance

The warm blood was scattered all over my face and the next thing I knew was one of the soldiers was shot in the head. His partner freaked out and said, "What did you do?" I lost my sarcastic attitude and became more serious about the situation and said, "I didn't do anything." He pulled his gun out, aimed it at me, and fired it in my direction. The bullets hit me and I fell to the ground. Then more shots came from the same direction, and as it was happening, the wounds healed and the bullets slid out of them. I groaned and stood up, only to find my older brother standing in front of me.

"Is it true, Goshi?" He said this with a maniacal expression on his face. I was paralyzed by his presence and couldn't say a word. Then he said, "Is Amoi..." I let out a gasp and remained quiet for the time being, then he said, "So it's true, those bastards let him die. I'll kill them." Out of spite, he punched upward and a monstrous amount of wind slammed in all directions. He knocked over many street lights and cell towers. The air around us began to violently vibrate and began to be hard to see. The winds slowly died down and my vision was restored before he said, "The E.T.U will be coming soon, so get far from here Goshi, it's going to be very ugly." I slowly backed up and eventually turned around and ran for the hills.

Many things were racing through my mind, like, what was Manny doing here, and why was he so strong all of a sudden? As I ran, E.T.U vehicles were speeding in the direction of Manny, so I assumed they were looking for him. A truck stopped in front of me and the soldiers rushed outside of the truck and had rightful's aimed at me and shouted for me to freeze. They must have noticed me either running suspiciously or from when I was in custody a few days or so back. I stood defensively and pushed my palms in their direction, and both them and the vehicle were blown away.

I started running again at the sound of more vehicles approaching me. Running away, I had no clue how I was going to get away from them, but I had one idea. The plan was to force the air beneath me and launch myself into the air. It was an insane plan, but I was not going to be running around naked again, so portals were a no-go. I took a deep breath and shut my eyes and then reopened them before forcing air underneath my feet and I was forced in the air. While free-falling, I thought about the landing portion and realized I hadn't thought of that part. I panicked and contemplated at the same time and as I was about to hit the ground, I remembered I could heal from anything, so I let myself hit the ground.

When I initially hit the ground, I didn't think it would hurt as much as it did. This pain was excruciating but was relieved shortly by the healing. I then got back on my feet and began running from the E.T.U again. From behind me, I could hear gunshots and feel the waves of wind vibrating. Then, as I turned the corner, the entire street was at war, and this time I mean, real fights were happening between the Enhanced citizens and the E.T.U. I was not surprised because this was bound to happen one day or another.

But the saddest thing was seeing people like me dying and having no rehabilitation. As I ran past the chaos in the corner of my eye, I could see a black humanoid figure looking at me from the top of an apartment roof. I stopped and locked eyes with its black face, then it pointed in the direction behind me and I turned around. A soldier had his assault rightful aimed at my head and said, "Don't move an inch, or I will fire." The dark spirit violently kicked him and he swiftly faded from existence. When that happened, I fell to the floor and was driven by the fear of being in its presence.

The black figure faded and somewhat vanished right in front of me. At that moment, I didn't want to move, but that was my only option. Standing back on my feet, once again I tried to get as far away from the chaos as I could, but every exit of the four-way street was blocked by tanks, vans, trucks, and soldiers. Enhanced people, including myself, were surrounded without escape. The commander shouted, "On my mark, you fire at them." I began to feel the fear of all the enhanced citizens and something inside me sparked. The commander shouted, "Fire!" And before the assault came close to us, I opened my arms to my wingspan and a giant white shield surrounded us all and blocked all attacks coming from the E.T.U. People began looking at me with shock as their expression. I held my hand high afterward, and the shield teleported us across the city to safety.

When my arms lowered, I was then being looked at like I was the messiah or something. The enhanced citizens then scattered like mice. My body felt drained as if I had run a marathon or something. The city's weather alarms then began to sound, and an announcement was made that any protestors, revolutionaries, or resisting enhanced civilians caught breaking the law would be killed or imprisoned. Following that, a list of wanted people was played for everyone to hear. My name and my brother's name were said in the announcement.

Then the announcer said that if anyone sees an enhanced civilian with white hair and hazel eyes, bring them in alive. They were talking about me since I currently have both of those characteristics. Now I have to look around the city until I find a way to survive here. I was walking on the sidewalk, past a clothing store that had an outside mannequin, and I stole a blue and grey hoodie to cover my head. Next, I continued forward and found myself running into some soldiers who were crowd-checking people. I saw them from about twenty-four feet from me and there were large crowds in all directions, so I used it to my advantage. I backed off slowly and turned in the other direction. While walking, I noticed a suspicious-looking man walking next to me. I pretended not to be affected by this display of action. He then said, "Goshi, it's me, Manny, don't look or say a word."

I remained quiet and he said, "Have you heard of Pansen?" My body froze to the sound of that name. He stopped only a few feet ahead of me and said discretely, "If so, I know how to get there. Follow me moderately if you wish to go." He began walking a little bit faster and I followed behind him at the same speed.

We walked for about three hours until he brought me to the city of Nesarri, where the tree of life is located. He slowed down and said, "The only way we are going to get near that massive tree is if we use our abilities." I nodded and he began walking to the giant gate surrounding the 200 square mile landmass. I walked twenty feet behind him and when he approached the gate, he raised his hand to his cheek and twisted it, and the guard's neck snapped. That stroke of fear in my eyes, but I couldn't back down now. He placed the back of his hands together and separated them, then the gates folded apart and gave us an entrance. We sneaked in and even though I already had my way in, I had to see what he was talking about. When we got close enough to see a really dark opening on the side of the tree, he looked back at me and said, "Watch this." He opened his palms towards the tree and dark light sprouted from his hands like bacteria, then the dark part of the tree began to look like a vibrant galaxy spiraling before me.

My only reaction was to walk inside and enter Pansen once more.
