It's been three days since Lucian took over the Blood Moon Pack, we've been planning our attack against the vampires day in and day out. A lot of the Blood Moon Pack members fled after Lucian took over, no surprise there, they didn't like the thought of a younger alpha ruling over them. Arthur and Mary have been looking over the rest of the Silver Moon Pack; they sent over all the warriors willing to fight the vampires while the rest increased patrols along the water's edge. We finally had a solid plan against the vampires and we were initiating it tomorrow morning. We were in the war room of the Blood Moon's alpha house, Lucian was going over the last details of the plan with the last warriors that showed up from Silver Moon.
"Everyone understand?" Lucian finishes glancing at each of the warriors in the room. A small nod came from all of them before Lucian dismissed them. Taking my hand he pulls me into him wrapping his arms around my waist and places a kiss on the top of my head.
"How are you holding up? You've been pretty quiet since the incident with your stepmom." he murmurs to me softly, not pushing, but offering an opening to let me talk to him.
"I'm okay, I'm not upset about what happened to her, she deserved it. It's just weird being back here. I never dreamed of being back here; it was never home. Ever since I stepped foot into your territory I've felt at home. Like I actually belonged not just because I'm your mate, but because everyone in our pack accepted me and saw me as me. I'll probably feel better once we get back home, but I understand why we have to be here. It's closer to the vampire's hideouts. I promise I'm okay." I look up into his searing blue eyes and give him a small smile. Uncertainty flashes through his eyes before they soften.
"Okay, I promise as soon as the vampires are eradicated we will go back home and expand the borders. I'll have a new house built right in the middle built to your recommendations. They will never bother you again." his hold against me tightens and I physically relax against him. With one final kiss on my forehead we leave the room hand in hand.
Morning came faster than I had expected, dawn light filtered through the windows and sunlight warmed my against my skin.
'Come one beautiful we got a war to fight. You gotta get out of bed. There's coffee and bacon waiting.' Lucian's voice filtered into my mind causing a grin to spread across my face. Bacon? Coffee? He definitely knew how to get this girl out of bed quickly. Stepping into the closet I slip into a pair of black yoga pants, a sports bra, and a workout tank. Clothes that'll be easy to fight in if I didn't have the chance to shift. Jogging down the stairs I find Lucian leaning against the counter, a piece of bacon dangling from his jaws. A wide grin spreads across his face when he spots me.
"Don't hate me, but this is the last piece." a teasing gleam in his eyes I give him a playful glare, my lips tipping down into a frown.
"But you said bacon…and coffee." I whine crossing my arms and in all my future Luna glory I stick my tongue out at him. His grin widens and he tosses a piece of bacon at me before motioning to a go cup of coffee from my favorite coffee shop in town. Catching the bacon I walk over and snatch the cup inhaling the intoxicating smell of caffeine.
"How'd you know this was my favorite coffee shop?" I stifle a soft groan as I take a swig from the warm liquid.
"A magician never reveals his secrets." a teasing lilt in Lucian's voice, a playful look on his face as he watches me inhale both the bacon and coffee. I narrow my eyes at him slightly,
"Why are you so joyful this morning aren't we supposed to be raiding the vampires?" his playfulness fell away but his eyes still gleamed.
"The scouts just returned and confirmed the king is in fact in one of the hideouts. We're raiding that one first, then taking out the rest. They should be eradicated by the end of the night. I just wanted you to eat first. We head out as soon as you're ready." plopping the last piece of bacon into my mouth I wash it down with the last of the coffee. Throwing my hair into a bun I step up to him.
"Well I'm ready. Let's finish this war." placing a light kiss on his cheek I step out the door. All our fighters were gathered around the building ready to head out, Lucian steps out shortly after me and places a strong arm across my shoulders.
"We attack the hideout in the field between both territories first. That's where the vampire king is hiding out. We take him out, kill him then take out the rest of the hideouts. We all are taking out the first then we are splitting into two groups and take out the last two. Each hideout will most likely have up to twenty vampires each be diligent and stealthy. The quieter we are the faster we can take them out before a messenger can get to the rest of them and warn them of our attack. Any questions?" Lucian's voice was strong and alpha power leaked through each word no one spoke and Lucian nods his head quickly before stepping down the steps and leading us to the border.
"We shift when we hit the trees. Our senses are stronger in our wolf forms and we can be quieter." Luican states and we walk in silence until we hit the treeline at the edge of our borders. Stepping behind a tree I strip down and begin to shift. Sounds of bones cracking and shifting was all around me, a sound I'll never get used to. My spine cracks and rearranges, my fingers lengthen into claws before shrinking down to paws. My jaw lengthens and canines elongate. Fur sprouted along my arms before spreading everywhere and I was standing on four paws. Stepping from behind the tree I was surrounded by fur and muzzles. Lucian steps out and takes off towards the field. Following closely behind we reach the hideout and spread out. Lucian motions for us to follow quietly as we step into the underground bunker.
'Ella and I will target the King. We have unfinished business with him. The rest of you take out the vampires along the way. Quietly so you don't wake the others. They will eventually start smelling the blood and wake but don't wake them sooner.' Lucian's voice spread through all our minds and nods of approval answered before we padded silently down the darkened paths. Blood quickly filled my nose as the acrid smell of copper and ash filled the air as the pack took out the vampires along the walls. Lucian and I sped up our pace to reach the king before the smell did. He was at the very end of the bunker again sleeping in a middle bunk. The two vampires above and below him were the same ones that threw me into the van. A soft growl erupts from my throat as I lunge for the lowest bunk and tear through the vampire's pale throat. Lucian lunged for the king and dragged him to the floor by his throat, his head hit the ground with a loud thud. Waking up the rest of the vampires in the bunker. The king's eyes fly open and his body thrashes against Lucian's powerful wolf. A yell erupts from the King's mouth sounding gurgled at the end. Releasing the now dead vampire's throat I drop him and pounce on the king sinking my jaws into his shoulder. Once I had a firm grip I jerked my head sharply to the left and ripped the king's arm clean off. Enraged hisses sound all around us just as the rest of our patrol files in and targets the rest of the vampires. Shortly after piles of ash surrounded us as the last vampire fell to the ground crumbling into dust. Lucian lifts his head and lets out a triumphant howl, shortly after the entire bunker is filled with howls of joy and triumph.
A few hours later we were all gathered back on our territory and the last two hideouts eradicated. We were throwing a victory feast in the streets. Barbecues lined the streets and little pups ran around giggling and shouting with joy. Lucian stood on the steps of the alpha house pride shining in his eyes as he looked around the combined pack. Arthur was standing at his side Mary smiling dreamily up at him. A smile pulls at my lips as Lucian reaches his arm to me. Stepping up the steps he drapes his arm around my shoulders pulling me into his side and kisses the top of my head. He looks back out to his people and raises his voice.
"A feast in celebration of wiping out the vampire threat! Their king has been slain and we are free to live without fear once more!" cheers erupted throughout the crowd, smiles shining on all their faces.
"After the celebration we are expanding the borders and connecting both packs. An Alpha house will be built right in the middle so everyone has access to us when needed." Nods of approval make the crowd look like they were doing the wave. Lucian raises his arm to quiet the murmurs shuffling through the crowd.
"There's just one more thing I need to do." I catch a giant grin on both Mary and Arthur's faces and I shoot them a curious look. Mary's grin widens as she catches my eye, but gives nothing away. Lucian releases my shoulders and steps down one step before turning to face me. I meet his eyes and give him a confused look.
'What are you doing?' I send into his mind and a grin spreads onto his face but doesn't respond. Reaching into his pocket he pulls out a little blue velvet box and flips it open. A gorgeous ring sat inside, a huge teardrop diamond sat in the middle surrounded by little purple diamonds down the band. A gasp escapes my mouth as tears spring into my eyes.
"Ella May I know ever since we met it's been war on top of war and fights for life, but I knew from the moment I found out you were my mate that I wanted you by my side forever. It's going to be an interesting forever, but I want to face it with you. We don't have to rush, but Ella May will you marry me and complete our mate bond to become the new Silver Moon's pack Luna?" the tears fall freely from my eyes as gasps erupt through the entire crowd, I catch Mary's eyes and she has tears of her own on her face. Looking back to Lucian a huge grin plays across my lips.
"Yes of course I will!" I throw my arms around his neck as he stands up and spins me around. Our lips crash against each other as cheers explode all around us.
