Chapter 16 - Chapter Fifteen

Susan's POV

"Can I have the room please, I need some privacy to do my work" I said to the Prime Minister.

"Don't mind me, just assume I am not here" he said as he kept staring at me.

I sighed and continued administering the required drugs.

Why won't this man give me some privacy so that I can give her the injection Ryan gave me!

I'll just have to give her the injection when I'm taking her to the O. R.

But before that, I need to do something else.

"Please Sir can you tell me what the time is?" I asked and looked at his wristwatch.

I said as I quickly brought out a letter Ryan gave me from my pocket and dropped it on the desk beside the bed.

"10: 32am" he said and I smiled

"Thanks, I'm done, I'll be taking your daughter to the O. R now" I said as I started wheeling the bed out of the room and he followed me.

"I am sorry Sir but you can't follow me, you won't be allowed in the operation room."

"I know, I just want to follow you till you get to the door of the Operation room" he said and I sighed.

"I really do not mean to say this but you make me uncomfortable Sir and I get nervous when I feel someone's eyes always on me so if you want me to perform my job effectively, trust me and stop watching me like a hawk watchs it prey" I said and he chuckled.

"I'm sorry, I just have trust issues, you may go on."

"You'll be notified when the surgery is starting" I said as I wheeled the patient away.

I continued walking and when I confirmed that the Prime Minister was no longer in sight, I found a corner with no camera and quickly administered the injection Ryan gave me.

Then I wheeled the patient to the Operation Room.

Prime Minister's POV

I sighed as I went back to the hospital room.

I just really have a bad feeling right now and I hope nothing happens to my daughter.

I walked to the table where I kept my phone and I saw a white envelope beside it.

"What's this?"

I opened the envelope and it was a letter...

📃 Doctor Alexander Sanchez is planning on killing your daughter in the operation room, she won't survive the surgery.

"What!"

Alex's POV 💊

Mason has always told me to avoid being stressed or nervous cause of my tremors and I've only been able to survive and hide my tremor from the world by always remaining calm even before the most hardest surgery.

But right now I am anything but calm and my hands are shaking rapidly.

I didn't plan on doing the Prime Minister's daughter surgery today, I am not mentally prepared.

To be honest, the surgery is a difficult one considering the fact that the tumor in her brain has grown large and she's also a sickle cell patient so I'm quite nervous and the tremors have kicked in.

I went to my safe and brought out the pills Mason gave me and I took two.

I just hope it works, I can't perform a surgery with shaky hands.

The door suddenly opened and Jasmine came in and I quickly dropped the drug on my desk.

"How many times do I have to tell you to knock before coming into my office?" I yelled.

"I'm... I... I am sorry Doctor, I was in a haste, Andrew has set up the O. R and Susan has taken the patient there" she said.

"What about the blood test?" I asked.

"I already carried it out, there are no complications, you can see for yourself" she said as she gave me the result and I studied it..

"Umm... Are you okay doctor? Your hands are shaking." Jasmine said and I quickly dropped the paper.

"I'm fine"

"You hands were also shaky the day we held your public consultation day, do you have some kind of trauma or what?"

"I said I am fine!" I yelled and she flinched

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to shout at you" I apologized. "I'm just....just....."

"Nervous?" She asked and I nodded.

"I'm not nervous" she said.

"You must be really brave then" I smiled.

"Maybe I would have been nervous if it was another doctor but I am not a bit nervous because it's you who will be performing the surgery. You are the best surgeon the world has ever known, back then when I was still in medical school, you were like a legend to me. A doctor who has never had a failed operation, you were my role model. I have seen what you can do and I trust you completely, you can do this" Jasmine assured and I smiled.

"You should be a motivational speaker" I said and she laughed.

"But thanks anyway, hearing you say that really meant a lot" I said.

"You're welcome" she smiled. "So shall we go?"

"Sure"

I followed her out of the office to the Operation Room and strangely but luckily, my tremors has stopped.
