Chapter 4 - Chapter Four

Patrick and Julie had found shelter in a cavern. As the former rested, the latter asked a great question.

"How does an assistant to an Egyptology professor know so much about prehistoric animals?" asked Julie.

"My dad worked in the paleontology department at the Royal Ontario Museum as its head." Explained Patrick. "Everything I learned about paleontology I learned from him. The curator wouldn't allow me to work as my dad's assistant. He said it would be interpreted as favoritism and because everyone in the paleontology department already had an assistant I had to find a different department to become an assistant in."

"So how did you end up in Egyptology?"

"My dad's brothers-in-law, that is to say my uncles, work at the museum as well. One of them worked in Egyptology and so... Here I am!" finished Patrick. "My uncle is Professor Enrico Bulwer of the Egyptology Department of the Royal Ontario Museum is my uncle!"

"So... How did the curator react?" asked Julie, eager to know the answer.

"He was not happy. He still thought it was favoritism but his high blood pressure brought about a heart attack." Patrick gave a chuckle. "He now can't get worked up about it because if he does the next one will kill him. The most he can do now is glare at me. So when did you move from South Africa to England?"

"When I was three." Replied Julie. "I was to see the city I was born in, my old home, see if it is how I remember it."
