Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 : The Final Judgement

Makarov stood tall, his gaze fixed on the chaotic scene before him. His giant form loomed over the battlefield, casting a shadow over everyone, his voice booming with authority.

"This ends now!" Makarov declared, his tone firm and resolute. His eyes glimmered with a fierce determination that was unmatched, one born of love for his guild and an unyielding resolve to protect his family.

The battle paused for a brief moment as the Fairy Tail mages looked up in relief, their smiles growing in the face of the overwhelming presence that had suddenly entered the fray. But Aurelius, or rather the demon controlling him, felt a shiver run through his spine.

"You think you can stop me?" the demon hissed, his voice dripping with malice. He clenched his sword tighter, the dark energy swirling around it intensifying. "I won't lose to you again, you bastard!"

Makarov's voice lowered, but it carried a weight of finality. "I won't let you do any more damage to my children. I will bring back the real Aurelius—no matter what it takes."

For a brief moment, the demon faltered, uncertainty flickering in its eyes. But that hesitation was short-lived. With a sudden snarl, Malphas rushed forward.

The ground trembled as the Malphas slashed the sword at Makarov. But the old man didn't move. He stood his ground. He didn't even flinch as the demon's sword closed in.

In the blink of an eye, Makarov's arm grew even larger. With a swift motion, he reached out and grabbed the demon's sword mid-swing—gripping it as if it were nothing more than a twig in his hand.

Malphas' eyes widened in shock, his grip on the sword tightening as if trying to force more power into the blade. But no matter how hard he tried, the giant arm of Makarov didn't budge.

"You're not in control here anymore," Makarov said, his voice thunderous as he squeezed the demon's sword tighter, his fingers crushing the weapon. "This is my guild, and I'll protect it, no matter the cost."

The demon snarled, trying to break free, but Makarov's strength was too overwhelming. Every attempt to pull away or struggle was futile.

"Now, I'm taking my child back!" The old man declared.

Makarov's giant hand tightened around the demon's sword, and for a moment, there was an eerie silence that stretched through the battlefield.

The guild master was done resting. His guild, his family, would not suffer any longer.

Makarov began to channel his ethernano into his other hand, his massive body glowing with light. His aura expanded, and the ground beneath him seemed to shake.

A powerful light gathered in his palm, and Malphas immediately moved. A wave of fear washed over.

"What—?" Malphas began, its voice trembling in shock and panic.

Makarov's eyes blazed with determination as he spoke. "This is the end for you."

The light in Makarov's hand intensified. With a sudden, sharp motion, he thrust his hand forward, unleashing the full force of his Light Magic. The beam of pure light erupted in his hands, heading to the demon we wants to defeat.

Malphas, seeing this, tried to doge, however, before he could, the light slammed into Aurelius body, causing the demon to scream in agony.

Erza, watching from a distance, clenched her fists as her heart raced. She knew that their master was more than capable of handling this. However, worry was still in her heart.

"We can't stay here!" Erza shouted, turning to the Fairy Tail mages. "We'll only get in Master's way. We need to leave now!"

Her eyes quickly scanned the group. "Mystogan, take Laxus and get him out of here!"

Mystogan, who had been silently watching the battle unfold, looked over at Laxus, who was still unconscious. But to everyone's surprise, Mystogan shook his head.

Before Erza could protest, Mystogan moved. Magic staves appeared around him in a flash, swirling in the air. They then hovered around Makarov and the demon.p.

As the staves completed their formation, a shimmering protective barrier formed, enclosing Makarov and the demon inside.

Mystogan's eyes narrowed as he turned to face Erza. "Handle Laxus and leave," he said. "I'll stay and make sure the demon doesn't escape."

Erza's expression didn't change as she just nodded, signaling the others to grab Laxus, and Elfman and follow her as she retreats.

...

"I've had enough of this!" Malphas snarled. "This ends now, old man."

He raised his hands, and a surge of cursed power shot out from his body. Dark tendrils of magic writhed in the air, tearing through the ground beneath him as his aura expanded. Makarov stood unfazed, his eyes narrowing with determination.

"This isn't over," the master replied as he gathered his ethernano.

Then, Makarov released a burst of ethernano, the light magic clashing violently with Malphas' dark attack. The explosion of power sent shockwaves rippling through the surroundings, throwing up debris in all directions.

The two stood locked in their battle, but as Makarov prepared to strike again, his vision suddenly flickered. His surroundings blurred, and the world around him blackened.

Suddenly, the void shifted, and Makarov found himself standing in a place unlike anything he'd ever seen before. The sky above him was a deep, ominous red, streaked with dark clouds. The ground beneath his feet was a stark, blinding white, almost blinding in its contrast to the black abyss that stretched endlessly in every direction.

Makarov's breath caught in his throat as the cold, alien air pressed down on him.

He gritted his teeth, trying to make sense of the impossible situation. He felt the weight of the place bearing down on him, suffocating him. Every instinct told him to resist, to fight, but there was no tangible enemy here.

Before he could speak, a voice echoed out from the abyss, dark and mocking. It was a voice that made Makarov's heart freeze.

"Welcome to the Dream Land."

As the words left Aurelius's lips, his figure seemed to flicker, and in an instant, he appeared right before Makarov. Before the old man could take a breath, Malphas extended his arm as an oppressive energy formed in his hands.

Explosions erupted as the demon swung his arm, the force of the blasts rippling through the air. Then, the demon's voice rang out, echoing through the Dream Land.

"Cursed Energy Make… Void Wave!"

The words were like a command, and the explosion-like shockwaves continued in a trail after Malphas' movements.

However, Makarov's instincts kicked in. He dashed to the side just in time, narrowly avoiding the oncoming burst of cursed power that tore apart the space he had just occupied.

As he rolled to his feet, gathering his energy, he quickly raised his hand and released a powerful beam of light from his palm. A brilliant wave of light aimed directly at the demon was released.

However, Malphas was already on the move. With a leap, he dodged the attack before grinning.

"This place will be your tomb, you old bastard..." He hissed, his voice like a dagger to the heart.

In reaction, the Fairy tail's master's eyes narrowed.

"I've had enough of this," he then said. He raised both hands, gathering an even larger amount of ethernano into them, and unleashed another wave of powerful light, flooding the area with blinding brightness.

But the demon was once again on the move. With a swing of his arm, he unleashed a pulse of dark energy.

"Cursed Energy Make…" Aurelius began, the words rolling off his tongue, "Dark Pulse."

A dark, massive wave of energy rippled through the air, crashing against the light blast. The collision was violent, the clash sending shockwaves that shook the space around them.

The demon smirked, the previous fear seemed to have vanished as reverted to his cocky self. "Is that all you've got?"

Before Makarov could answer, Aurelius' body disappeared again, vanishing in the blink of an eye. The battlefield went still for a moment. Then, a massive roar pierced the air, and Makarov's eyes widened in realization.

A giant meteor appeared, its massive form hurtling down from the blood red sky, growing larger by the second. The very air around it warped with power. And it was heading straight for Makarov.

"Makarov!" the voice of Aurelius echoed, taunting and filled with contempt. "Prepare to face true power!"

'Foolish demon' The old man though as the meteor hurtled toward him. His face then grew more serious. His eyes narrowing and focusing entirely on the incoming threat. Then, as he thought about what he will do, he crossed his arms, his fists clenched with such force that his muscles tensed. He then released his ethernano.

In an instant, three pillars of dark seals materialized before him, two on his sides and one behind. Each pillar glowing with a dark light. And the caster, Makarov stood inside, looking at the coming meteor without a care in the world. From his eyes, it would seem that he was confident in facing the head on with the help of the 3 pillars that enclosed him.

"Three Pillar Gods," he uttered under his breath as the magic surged through the pillars.

Soon, the air around him vibrated as the meteor collided with the dark barrier, causing an explosion while the power engulfed the entire realm. The ground quaked beneath Makarov's feet as the blast reverberated in the air, shaking everything.

When the dust settled, Makarov remained standing, his arms still crossed, not a single scratch on him. Aurelius—no, the demon controlling him—reappeared, his face twisted with surprise. He had expected to see his enemy dead, but instead, the old man stood unscathed, the power of the meteor having had no effect.

Aurelius, or the demon, stood there, stunned for a moment. His eyes widened in disbelief, and as he opened his mouth to speak, Makarov was already in motion. The three pillars behind him collapsed into the ground with a thunderous crash, the dark seals vanishing in an instant as Makarov's gaze turned steely and unwavering.

"Such weak attack will not kill me!" The master declared before continuing. "I'll end this once and for all..."

He then took a slow, deliberate step forward. "As in the tradition of Fairy tail," he continued, his voice cutting through the tension, "I'll give you three seconds. Bow down and release Aurelius."

The demon's expression darkened. Fear—the kind of primal, soul-shaking fear that had plagued many before him—flickered in his eyes. A flash of memory triggered within the demon's mind, and Aurelius' body trembled. He had been here before. He had faced Makarov before. And he had been defeated.

"No!" the demon shouted, his voice filled with panic and defiance. "It will not end the same way!"

With a roar, he channeled every ounce of cursed power within him, fusing it with the ethernano that still pulsed through the body's veins. He wouldn't let this happen again.

The Fairy tail master, then, spoke as he started the count down that may change the demon's fate.

"Three…" His voice was calm, and steady which seemed to have caused Malphas more unease.

Malphas surged forward, preparing to launch an attack with every bit of cursed power he could muster. But in that instant, he saw it—the white orb in the old man's palm, glowing with an different intensity of light. A cold, suffocating fear gripped his heart as he froze in place.

"Two" The word echoed through the realm as the demon stayed still.

It was too late. The terror that surged through Malphas took control of his thoughts and body. He tried to attack, to act, but the countdown had already reached its end.

"One." It finished, and in that moment, time seemed to froze as Malphas' mind got filled with chaos.

With one move, the Fairy tail master pressed his palms together. He closed his eyes for a brief moment, and as he did, the white orb between his hands began to expand, growing in size and power with every passing second.

Malphas' eyes widened in horror as the light around the old man intensified.

"Fairy Law" He heard it. Once again... The same attack that brought him terror years ago... Malphas had witnessed it once again.

The growing orb continued to expand while Malphas, as his last ditch effort released every power he can muster.

He released a Black beam, his final effort to protect himself. However, it overwhelmed by the radiant light. The light continued to expand, reaching the realm's furthest depths. The intensity was unbearable as it continued to grow every second.

And as it grew, the only sound that remained was the echoing, anguished scream of the demon of nightmare as it was engulfed by the light. It was ironic... The demon of nightmare suffering under his worst nightmare.

AN: My stockpile is almost out... I have only 1 chapter left lol... So I will be changing some things. First off, bonus chapters will not be for every 125 power stones. And it will be released at the end of the week. So, if we get 325 chapters by the end of the week, then I'll mass release 3 chapters. I would also like to apologize for not adding the chapter titles, and for a drop if quality on the past chapters. I had too much on my plate because of my finals yesterday. It should improve starting in chapter 40.
