The Darkwood Arena, Aurora City (County Level), State of Abe
The arena was built to be made of three floors. Each separated by the standard of treatment you could afford. In the center of the building is a giant black and red colored ball. Revolving in place at a rapid pace.
The spectators in the venue were chaotically running this way and that.
"If you would like to see match A4 of the Siege League Draft Tournament, Please follow bot A4. Remember to wear your glasses at all times so that you may have the best viewing experience." A beautiful young woman, about 22 years in age, instructed the crowd at ther counter.
"Your son, Ian, is in that match, Xavier?" A wizened old man whispered to the man attending him.
"Yes, sir Isaac. Ian graduated top of his class from Ibuku Institute. He is a prodigy in Body Cultivation being able to practice his ancestors' halberd combat art, Rhino Heart Titan Skin art. He wields Tier 2 flame manipulation as well as a certification from the Blacksmith Association in Holy city." Even though Xavier was speaking very highly about his son, it was at this point that a frown began to cover his face.
Seeing the depressing atmosphere around his childhood friend, Sir Isaac began to feel sad as well. Imagining if such a tragedy could befall his family as well. The beast attacks in the Stat of Abe have become more fierce and more frequent as of late. This led to the Kingdom sparing no effort to eradicate all threats.
Young Ian was on a school trip near the Macchu Mountains when a city level horde of magical beasts descended.
Threat Levels:

Etc.
In short the threat of magical beasts, monsters or any horror that attacks humans is equal to the level of threat they pose. This method is called Arturrios' threat index. As a researcher under Duke Walyem Farrar, the second Duke of the Farrar family and the Owner of 'X-pirio Technologies', they began to mass produce a feature that could be installed onto devices that could estimate threat levels.
Although Aurora City may not fear a City level horde, it is another thing for a group of students. If it were not for the school staff and some of the more outstanding students, like Ian, most would not have been able to come back alive.
Even after such a tragedy the boy did not fret at his injuries and instead returned to the fields to push forward as a warrior. Only, when news of his injury was made public many of the sects, guilds, and armies who wanted to enlist him began to cower away.
In order to prove that he still had his same fighting spirit. Young Ian decided along with his father to showcase his new fighting skills on the battlefield of the Darkwood Arena. With it's rumored technology one could fight unhindered for all to see without the threat of re-injury.
This League sounded like a godsend to the Matten family. Young Ian's second chance. Not only would he be able to catch some eyes, but being a part of the league and joining the Darkwood forces sounded enticing as well.
Just in case, Xavier decided to give his old friend a call and ask him to take a look and see if he might take interest in his child as well. Maybe teach him a few things.
As they made their way to their seats they put on their glasses and began to enjoy the refreshments laid out. With the glasses on one could see pins on the giant ball representing points of interest on the map.
You could choose any point and watch the fights and goings on at that mark.
Meanwhile…
In a separate space…
Specifically, Space A4 of Prince Adoli's Dark wood realm.
"It must be fate, Lady Frost. Who knew this round's selection process would be random. I hope we can do well as teammates." The onlookers witnessed a strange scene of an overly happy, almost teary eyed juvenile, forcibly shaking hands with a lovely beauty, who seemed sad… very sad.
"HI, is this the meeting place for Squad 4? My name is Ian." Right on time a handsome youth from the Matten family arrived to save the beauty.
"Ah, brother Ian, I haven't seen you since you left the Holy city. How have you been?" Desperate to no longer be stuck with the leech, Luana flew into the arms of her former classmate.
"Ah, not the best actually…" Ian said sheepishly. Everyone was well engrossed in the happenings of this young trio until noticing the youths reasoning for being so sad at his age.
As a body focused cultivator his pride is always his body, and so some body cultivators, including young Ian, choose to not wear shirts in public. This let the entire hall bear witness to the long scar over where his heart should be stretching to his hip on the other side of his body.
Even scarier, for the scar to be over the heart, it also implies that the core of his cultivation was also damaged. As a Tier 2 cultivator the only things that can threaten them should be city level threats. For him to be alive right now could be seen as a miracle. So the onlookers gave them peace out of respect and went about their business.
"Ah, Ian you got injured. What happened?" Luana panicked.
"Ah, there was a City level beast attack while we were on a field trip."
"No way."
"If it weren't for the principal deciding to follow us out on that day, it may have been worse if he decided to sleep in again." He said with a nervous chuckle. "Besides, I haven't given up as long as I am still alive, there is a chance for me to no longer have to rely on others."
"I am glad you have kept your same high spirits brother Ian, I hope we can cooperate well in the future." Luana said sweetly.
Fronz couldn't help but feel familiar with this scene. 'Great form!!'
"Hi, is this where squad 4 goes?" A 17 year - old girl along with the three other teammates arrived.
"Yes, I am Ian Matten, Tier 2 level 34. Rhino Titan Style - Warrior"
"I am Luana Frost Tier 2 Level 32. Sipiels - Archer"
"And I am Fronz West Tier 2 Level 96. Orleans Gator Style - Swordsman" A look of amazement briefly crossed over the group collectively. Although none of them knew the capabilities of the Orleans Gator Style, Fronz was still so close to being Tier 3.
Powers are hereditary in a way. In the awakening process you may either receive a direct inheritance from an ancestor, one from a living relative, or a combination of abilities. In almost 65% of the awakened they have received an ancestral ability, 15% chance of the ability being an inherited ability from a living relative, 10% chance it is a combo ability and a 10% chance you receive nothing.
For those whose abilities are inherited from ancestors they start with a gift usually passed down from said ancestor. Looking at the long serrated, bejeweled-broadsword on Fronz's back one could only infer.
"I am Greta Worshire, Tier 2 level 32. Valkyrie - Spearmaiden." Looking at the lovely 17 year old giving off a mature and battle ready aura, and the wings on her back everyone nodded in understanding.
"Luber Gotten, Tier 1 Level 37, Vampiric - Paladin." Everyone in the waiting area struggled to hold back their laughs initially upon hearing the man's level. But when hearing his class everyone held their breaths.
