Azren froze. Gizach's words were harsh and sharp, and they deeply pierced his weak heart.
Perhaps Gizach and other demons were right. He had such a weak heart, and he was also useless like the angels.
It wasn't the first time Azren heard that kind of insult. Azren had always been a different demon that was hated by his kind because of his weak personality. Other demons called him weak, but sometimes he comforted himself by telling that he was just a soft-hearted demon.
He had a tender heart that could not see others suffering, regardless of whether they were demons or humans. He didn't understand what was wrong with his heart, but that was what he felt during his life as a demon for 200 years.
He once questioned Orgonel about the issue, but Orgonel just told him that he just needed to harden his heart more to be a strong demon. He didn't even know how to harden his heart. He had tried to stop caring about others and just focus on his jobs, but he would go back to his true self that was weak and timid.
He hated that side of him, and he wanted to be a strong-hearted demon just like the others. He didn't want to be hated by other demons anymore.
"I'm not like the angels," the blonde finally replied. "I was born as a demon. My eyes are red, and my wings are black. I also have a pair of thorns on my head. I'm not like the weak angels."
Azren kept telling himself that he was no different from any other demon and that he just needed more time to strengthen his heart and get rid of his weak heart. Azren didn't want to be bothered forever. He wanted to change himself to gain Lucifer's trust again.
"You haven't answered my question earlier, Gizach. Why did you provoke the man to rob the shop?"
Azren wanted to be a stronger demon, so he needed to learn from a strong demon like Gizach. If Orgonel didn't want to help him how to rise Michy's evil meter, then he probably could learn the trick from Gizach.
"You still want to know about that matter even after you finally realized that you're wrong all the time?"
The red-haired Demon questioned him back, and he stared at him sternly. "I want to learn from you how to be a strong demon. I want to complete my mission soon so I can return to my demon form."
Gizach was a bit stunned when he saw Azren's determination. Azren's green eyes were quite ridiculous the first time he saw them, but now the pair of emeralds looked so intimidating and radiating the owner's strong will.
"I provoked him because he was so frustrated," the red-haired demon answered. "He's living in this apartment as well. He's the owner of a company, but his company suddenly collapsed and he was in huge debt. I provoked him to rob the shop so he can pay for his debt. He was so easy to be provoked, and I got huge energy from him."
Azren could see the other demon smirked evilly toward him. Gizach just received a huge amount of energy in his body, and that was why he looked so energetic today.
Orgonel had told him that he still needed to absorb human energy even though he was currently in human form. To be able to get the energy, he must provoke Michy to do evil deeds. Yes, he could only do that to the idol because Lucifer had assigned the idol to be his target. Orgonel told him that he could only focus on Michy during his mission.
If he couldn't trick Michy into doing evil deeds, then he would lose his energy gradually. Perhaps, he would lose all his energy even before his 100-day mission was over if he couldn't do his job properly.
"Your success ratio is so high. How could you complete your tasks so well?" The blonde asked again curiously.
The red-haired demon frowned upon hearing the question. He moved his fingers to pat his cheek as he thought about how to answer Azren's question.
"I think the key is in your heart," the red-haired male answered. "If your heart was certain, then your provocation power will get stronger as well. It will affect the humans more."
If the key was indeed in his heart, then it would be a difficult task for him. He had such a fragile heart, and it felt like breaking apart every time he saw humans suffered.
And to make it more complicated, Michy's case was not simple either. The idol had acted rudely and annoyingly towards him, and he would likely treat others badly as well, but his evil meter was still low. Was it because of his split personality? But what caused his personality to be like that?
He couldn't help but wonder about that. perhaps he could ask Gizach about that issue.
"Do you know a lot about a human's evil meter, Gizach?"
Upon hearing the question, Gizach furrowed his brows once again. "Evil meter?" He parroted. "I'm a great demon, so of course, I know a lot about the evil meter. Why did you ask me about that?"
Azren bit his lips nervously. Lucifer didn't tell him that he should keep his mission a secret, so it would be fine if he told Gizach about Michy, right?
"You know about my punishment, right? My target is cruel and has a very bad personality, but the evil meter is still low. Do you know why such a thing happened?"
Azren didn't feel the need to explain the details because he was sure Gizach had known the general idea of his mission. He was judged in front of other demons, and gossip about him must have spread throughout the demon world.
"That case is possible," the red-haired demon replied confidently. "I think it's related to the angels. Maybe your target is guarded by some angels, so the evil meter is still low."
