Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Meet the New Priestess of the Temple of Kama

The full moon shone into the room through the window of the stone house.

The room was about 30 square meters, and more than ten men were sleeping on the ground.

The door was locked from the outside.

Merion stood in front of the window, carefully observing the guards on the square outside and counting their numbers.

Occasionally, a group of armed guards with iron shields and swords around their waists passed by the cottage.

The defense of the Colosseum was airtight.

"Crack!" the iron lock was opened from the outside.

A figure walked into the cottage, and the iron lock was locked again.

The man who came in with a blanket in his hand looked around the room under the moonlight and whispered, "Whitman, Whitman."

His cry still caused the dissatisfaction of other burly men who were sleeping soundly in the room.

Merion recognized that it was York. He walked over and pulled him to the window. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to keep you company." York smiled at Merion and said, "I have discussed with Desen that your living condition here is not as good as that of our 'contract-free citizen', so we will accompany you to eat and live from now on. I will come first. When Desen recovers in the injury camp, he will also move over."

Merion kept silent for a while and said gratefully, "Thank you."

"You're welcome." York put the blanket in his hand on the ground in front of the window and put it together with Merion's. "I know you want to be free. Don't worry. After I finish the contract program with Desen for a year, as long as we are still alive, we will make money to redeem you."

York chuckled and said, "I'm afraid that you will be as expensive as the most expensive cargo ship on the Sade Sea. We have to work hard to redeem you."

He lowered his voice and said, "You saved my brother's life. We are willing to help you escape."

"There's no need. If you are caught, you will also be sentenced to death, and all of these slaves will be implicated and executed by us." Merion said firmly, "I will win 50 in a row. You two can help me with the work then!"

"That's exactly what I want."

"I know what to do. Go to sleep." Merion lay on the dirty and thin grass mat.

It was a sunny day with a blue sky.

The butler of the Colosseum room hummed happily. Accompanied by a group of guards, he took Merion and York out of the Cabul Colosseum.

The butler was a fat bald man in his fifties.

He seemed to have no name here, and everyone respectfully called him "Butler".

Walking on the streets of Cabul, the free trade city filled with the fresh sea breeze, he was also called the "Butler", but there were some people he would greet back with a smile; the other he snorted to show that he had heard someone and walked towards them with his nostrils in the air.

The vendors were selling "Fresh fruit from Jenmick and first-class Amy wine".

York smiled in a low voice and said to Merion, "Although the butler looks so arrogant, he used to be a slave. Even the slave owner of Colosseum, Barney, whose ancestors were also slaves born as prisoners of war. After obtaining freedom, he climbed up to the nobility of the city and took over the well-known Colosseum. This is the free trade city. Any miracle is possible."

Merion looked at the hustle and bustle on the street. There were a variety of shops on both sides of the road and huge artistic stone sculptures on the roadside.

He had to admit it in his heart that the prosperity of this trade city was far more prosperous than the King City of his old country.

Cabul had the most powerful navy force on this continent, which spread all over the Sade Sea and allowed him to freely trade with all the kingdoms around the Simpson Continent. In comparison, the Simpson Continent across the sea was divided into allied and enemy countries where there had been scuffles over the past decades.

Many cities turned into ruins in an instant.

When they arrived at the Carl Square in the center of the city, all of a sudden, the crowd swarmed in one direction.

The hawkers also dropped their goods.

The proprietress also rushed out of the shop.

The crowd scrambled to run forward along the spacious street. Some people ran so fast that their shoes fell off and they didn't have time to pick them up

"Hurry up! The new priestess of the Kama Temple is on board. They are on the dock. Go and have a look."

"Well, according to the practice of the divine temple, the new priestess won't take office until the full moon in October. Why does she come a month earlier?"

"I don't know. But she is here today. Can you control when the Lord`s servant comes?"

"Where is her caravan now?"

"Hurry up and go to the boulevard in front of the Kama Temple and wait there. I think we can make it and get a good place."

The butler saw that the crowd couldn't wait to run towards the Kama Temple. He stopped in the square and looked at Merion and York hesitantly.

The guards who were escorting Merion and York couldn't wait any longer. "Butler, let's go to have a look."

"Exactly, butler. The last priestess came to the Kama Temple six years ago. It's a rare occasion."

"Priestess is one of the most beautiful women in the golden world. If you don't take a look at her, you'll regret it and can't sleep at night."

The butler also wanted to go to the temple, but he was worried that there would be a large crowd of people in front of the temple, so it would be difficult to catch them if Merion and York tried to escape.

York read his mind and said quickly, "Don't worry about me running away. My brother is still in your injury camp."

He then quickly hit Merion with his shoulder and said, "Whitman is a man who can't let all the slaves die with him, let alone run away without permission."

The guard captain quickly took out an iron chain, wrapped it around Merion's wrist, and handed the key to the butler.

Without hesitation, the butler changed the direction and led them towards the boulevard of the Kama Temple.

No sooner had they taken their place in the avenue by the side of the road than the new priestess's caravan, carried by eight strong men, appeared in the spotlight.

The caravan has a golden round top hung with colored glaze.

In the car was sitting a girl about 17 or 8 years old. People rushed over and curiously looked at her peerless appearance.

But when they looked at her eyes, they were shocked by her majestic and sacred temperament and couldn't help lowering their head.

The caravan walked very slowly.

Step by step, it stepped on the thick white marble on the boulevard in front of the divine temple.

When Merion looked into the girl's eyes, a word flashed through his mind - beautiful.

Then he lowered his head, feeling that it was a blasphemy to stare at her again.

The caravan stopped on the marble.

The new priestess got out of the caravan and stopped beside Merion.

The priestess touched the red mark on her forehead with her hand and then laid it on Merion's.

She said in a soft voice, "Your Highness, please listen to the call of the Sade Sea."

What she said was not the common language of Simpson Continent, but a kind of accent of Letterman that was popular in Merion's hometown.

Letterman was the place where Merion's ancestors were born.

Merion looked up blankly. The priestess got in the caravan and was carried into the golden building of the Kama Temple.

The doors of the Temple of Kama, which had been opened, slammed shut.

Merion was sure that he didn't know the new priestess. Besides, his right face was as swollen as a steamed bun, even his friends were hard to recognize him; how could this priestess know him among so many people? How could she speak to him in the incomprehensible language of Letterman?!

York raised his head and asked Merion, "Was she talking to you just now? What did she say?"

"I don't understand either. She said she wanted me to hear the sound of the sea."

"What's so good about the sound of the sea? It's just the sound of wind, waves, and seagulls."

"Yeah."

After watching the priestess's ordination, the butler hummed happily and went back to the Carl Square with the crowd, like the ebb of the waves. Then he led the party to walk through the square in the direction he had planned to go.

When walking to a huge sky-blue building, he stopped excitedly. "Guys, let's go inside and have fun."

Merion recognized the building as grand and beautiful as Colosseum.

This was another world-famous place in Cabul like Colosseum: Cabul's huge luxurious bathroom.

It was short for a bathing place.

When he was a prince before, he had been invited here by other aristocrats to have fun.

But he didn't go in because he heard that there were many beautiful women and sensuous.

But this time, he was marched here.
