Chapter 27 - Second Objective

A sword, the Blackened Blade wielded by the bringer of Death, the Crow, had cut through a suit's fabric. The jacket ripping at the touch of a katana's edge, digging deeper and deeper, innards spilled out his insides, life draining from eyes' center, the suit-wearing victim fell to his back. A fountain of blood splashed onto his face, but his eyes remained the same as the man he slaughtered. Without life, without regard for the one he'd wasted, the darkened metal length of his katana shoved into its opposite-shaded sheathe with a gentle click of the guard against the cover. And yet, all he could say, surrounded by the hundreds of bodies he'd laid waste to, mutilated with puddles of blood spattering the once-clean carpeted platform below him was,

"What a malodorous stench,"

"Don't complain after we already finished, it's just annoying," Rizia interrupted, hands in their pockets as they casually strolled between the descending pathway between seats, to where Azazel looked up at his partner,

"Tch, whatever. When's Summers waking up, need her to help me with this shit," Azazel felt blood drop out his hip, this time, not his victims, but his own,

"You've gotten rusty. You used to brag about being so fast you could outrun a bullet. What's got you by the balls, Karlo?" Kosuke questioned worriedly with a smile painted over their lips,

"Just... we don't know his plan, do we? The Founder's, I mean. I'm all for rebelling against a corrupt society. I had no qualms about literally slaughtering all these people, but- this is more than that, I know it is," Azazel admitted reluctantly with a crack in his voice, directing his eyes away from theirs,

"He told me he had a dream, one where he could see his destiny stretching out before him, and the necessary steps to carrying out an ascension. Do you doubt him?" They tilted their head as they queried this,

"I don't doubt him, I'm worried about him... or you, rather. I don't think the world deserves to end, not everyone is guilty, not as much as he thinks they are. The people compliant are only doing so because they're scared, they have no other choice, they're just normal, and resigned to boring lives..." He answered in a hushed whisper.

After he'd stated his view on the matter, on what he'd believed laid at the end for their journey as the Evolution Frontier, the silence filled the room. Nothing but the sound of bloody droplets sliding down his arm waist then hitting the floor to join the dirtied ground, and as Rizia hopped up, their bottom pushed against a desk where the officials would usually sit in front of. Palms pressed against the furniture, his boots stepped through the bodies and slid over the puddles to reach the podium at the sole forefront,

"Remind me, Azazel, why did you accept Kuno's offer?" They scratched their cheek with their finger as they inquired this of their partner,

"Don't play stupid with me, Riz. I was born into it, I never got a say like Satoru or Snow," He answered yet again with an annoyed tone audible in his vocals,

"So what? We don't know what he's going to do but like it or not, we can't do shit about it. We said we'd lay down our lives for him and aid him in achieving his dream so there's no point in questioning it now…" They whispered turning their head away from his colorful eyes,

"After a lifetime of killing for little to no reason, obeying the orders of an Elite officer; this is the same. You know these people were guilty, that they committed sins and slaughtered millions without feeling any sense of remorse about it, and yet… you cry. Why is that?"

The tears curved right over into jaw as the stream collided descending down both their cheeks, and as they attempted to suck in through shaky breaths. They shook their head from side to side. The family she killed, neither of them were 'good' people, not in the long run and never would they become 'good.'

That same emptiness she felt standing in that doorway with those flashing lights leaking into their face from those 'righteous' sirens, they were just a kid, how could they'd had known the atrocities they'd have to commit..? In the end, nothing had changed, justice wasn't served, and they were the same soldier they always were. That's just- the way things worked for Rizia. Just a soldier who followed orders blindly unable to choose her own fate,

"Unlike you, I have the ability to think for myself, I don't enjoy the slaughtering of innocents, not in the slightest. If you sit by and allow it to happen, you're the same as these Elite we killed and the family you killed that day. Until my suspicions are confirmed, I'll kill them all… every last one of the Elite-" His words had abruptly been intruder with the voice of a Master, one whose aura illuminated as bright as a morning sun burning into the skin of mortal peasants,

"Rizia, Azazel, head into the city. Escort a million or so civilians from New York to the pier, finish it by August 8th. If you meet the condition before the deadline, find more to escort to the pier," The Founder ordered with a phone to his ear

"Uh, if you plan to send those million or so people to the Island, there's not really a ship that can transport a million people all at once. That seems way too huge to be practical," Azazel objected reasonably with Rizia listening in on their earpiece,

"I agree. However, there exists such a metal that can allow such a construction to be possible. I'm headed to Nevada, if any of you want to come along, you're welcome to do so," Cal explained to them both, pulling the device away from his ear, a simple click of a red button had disconnected them and he'd turned his head.

Tilting it just a little back so he could make out the sight of another incoming helicopter, he smirked with his jacket flowing in the night's breeziness. The Samurai seen just as the doors slid to the side revealing the vehicle's interior, Rivers threw the coat off his shoulders for it to land onto the floor of the chopper,

"The hell are we going to Nevada for?" Satoru asked quizzically watching as the Founder sat down right in front of the swordsman, arms crossed over his chest, red-eye shut,

"The Government has tons of secrets that they won't unleash into the public, ones that would simply throw the world into chaos. UFOs, unidentified predatory species, biological weapons. Basically, it's a treasure room for enhanced technology exclusive to those Elite to keep them in power. Luckily, I managed to get a job as a researcher for them, so I was granted access to the basement of the Pentagon and the contents of Area 51… we're after two things. A suit of armor that is powered by individual nano bots that obey the muscle fibers of the wearer so they could control the suit without trouble, and a boat," Callum flew into the sky with ease as he yanked back the joystick manipulating the rotors, the vehicle vanishing above the clouds,

"Whaddup mean a boat? Why would we go after something like that?" Ignorantly questioned the Samurai with a single turning of his head,

"It's for transporting nuclear weaponry using unmanned artificial intelligence developed by the weapons researcher. His name was kept anonymous, but there's one thing for certain that every Elite veteran remembers. Like Oppenheimer did when he created the atomic bomb, he was ultimately disgusted by his creation and ended up hanging himself by a noose in his own home. The ship was designed to hold the weight of about thirty to fifty nuclear weapons… all in all, 485,000 pounds if we're classifying them all as atomic bombs," Rivers informed his ignorant subordinate with a gentle casual smile over his cracked, scarred lips,

"That's insane, isn't it? I doubt there's any metals that are… THAT flexible, it's just not practical. Is there any metal that exists that can support that much weight-?" Ryosuke then interrupted himself as the light bulb above his head flickered on, head turning with a sinister grin, that look in his eyes said it all,

"Now you get it. The key to that metal lies below Area 51. I saw the ship with my own eyes, and at the time, I had no idea it existed… but it did. That was when I was sure this plan would work. So that's where we're headed, to create the new frontier of human evolution by way of the Elite's own weapons being used against them…"

Callum and Ryosuke made their ways to that place, soaring through the skies with a goal in mind, Satoru sharpened his sword for the fight ahead. But as he stood behind the metaphorical wheel, piloting this vehicle, his face was obscured by the chair he was seated onto. The Foretold Founder would evolve humanity away from their sadistic tendencies, for it didn't matter who lived and who died, as long as they paid for it.

Everyone was guilty, so they all had to pay. The future that laid beyond this one, locked behind this seat with the sights of the world laid out before him, tainted by those who stuck their fingers into the affairs of those who were weaker than others. The Elite deserved to die, so did those complaint, who turned a blind eye, who backed down. Cowards, the whole lot of them. For neither of them had the righteous gall to keep moving forward and take justice for what those so-called protectors did they day. None of them had the resolve to finish what they'd started, so he'd do it for them…

The one fated to ascend as high as an Angel returning to the heavens to meet again with their master. Callum Rivers, the Foretold Founder, would have his justice, no matter the cost!

And so, just like that, they disappeared above the skies. , to recover the ship and armor, locked behind the impenetrable vaults of Nevada's sacred base… Area 51.
