Chapter 13 - Targeted For Treason

While Katie had been meeting her father, Alex having fled to his home to spend time with his wife, there remained the only three Agents of ANZEN at home. June resting her head on her brother's shoulder on the left, her hand digging into the bowl of popcorn, Ace doing the same with his hand, and Kima just seated on the floor to the Ginger's right leg, her head rested back against the sofa. Hair sprawled out against the cushions, eyelids shutting over her purple orbs, Myers kept her hands in her lap and rested while her other two teammates were watching TV and eating popcorn together.

For the time being, while only the sounds echoing out from the speakers embedded into the screen filled the room, everything was peaceful. Things wouldn't always last like this, time with each other, silent, enjoying one another's company so purely, they just stood there with one another and smiled, while Kima rested her eyes. After a week of crazy incidents, this- was exactly what they needed.

BOOM! The rooftop exploded about their very heads, June squeaking in surprise as she fell off the couch, Ace protecting his baby sister collapsing on top of her. Shedding himself of his shades, aiming around his open palm, the guards warped right into the household with booms of blue surrounding their feet as they manifested into the destroyed abode. Thunderous explosions detonating in the clouds above their head, Kima, furthest from the blast, seemed nowhere to be found. Luckily for Ace and June, that meant, despite being ambushed so suddenly, they had the upper hand,

"Get on your knees and put your hands behind your head!" One of the guards yelled strongly, clocking his rifle along with the rest of the subordinates,

Siblings looking to one another, they reluctantly complied and went onto their knees, all the while the Moon shining through the hole in the ceiling had created a dim shadow of their figures. Cuffs wrapping around their wrists, Ace smirked with his head facing the ground… at his own shadow, there she was, surrounded by darkness, yet as she stared up to the ceiling of her dimension, she could see the light of the world. Inhaling gently, controlling her breathing, she forced her hands together, making fingers signs, she remembered back to a specific training session just a few days before this invasion.

As her body hit the floor and bounced from the ground, she rubbed her back, while a hand stretched out, he aided in her ascent, and once again, she stood upright now facing her instructor,

"Looks like you have a problem, Kima. I think you focus too much on one aspect of your abilities and not on the others. For instance: back when we were in R'lyeh, why did you… use Kon and not a more powerful monster? You only used your Ketsueki blade, something you're more familiar with compared to the Beast Summoning. In battle, while it is important to rely on something you're more experienced with, your enemy won't hold back. We were all lucky Cthulhu didn't kill us all immediately, but the next time, you won't know. So, take bigger risks, fight to win, if you don't fight, then you'll never win… do it. Release it all,"

"This was one I only recently just found last Tuesday… I don't have full control over it yet, but for scum like these, I GUESS I CAN LET LOOSE JUST A LITTLE BIT; HAHAGH!

Haaahh… Now, come to me. LOKI!!"

Cast out from Valhalla after a fearsome battle, the Trickster God emerged out, controlled solely by the will of this superhuman to lay waste. Destroy, kill, that was the only thing on his mind as their bodies lit aflame one by one around Ace and June. The latter's eyes widening with surprise as the flames reflected in the center of his patterned orbs, Ace couldn't help but smile as he broke right out of the cuffs. Loki's boisterous figure levitating over the household with his legs crossed, a hand resting against his cheek, the mask over his face hiding his true features, Kima emerged from the shadow realm now wielding the Blood Blade, Ketsueki.

A devious painted smile over his where his lips would be, horns protruding out his temples, he formed a sword of flames above his palm. Pushing it ahead to the air so the blade could destroy the back rotors of the chopper hovering overhead, the helicopter fell out of the air and twirled out of balance, June rubbing her wrists and wincing as she stood up gradually,

"Ahhh, that hurt," Whined the girl dramatically with a yawn,

"Looks like they're not giving up so easily!" Ace pointed to the skies above through the ceiling, watching as fighter jets covered the moon, distant radio chatter heard, a barrage of missiles dislodged together to aim right below and eradicate the Agents.

Loki easily vanished as to not get caught in the fire, June stepping up, she pushed up both her palms and created an immediate shield, a green flower protecting the house. Projectiles booming against the cover, crackling with more lightning, Ace turned his head to see more coming in from upstairs and through the kitchen windows,

"Babe, protect June at all costs!" She yelled to him, running right ahead leaving a blur in her wake, branding her sword behind her, those coming in from the back door watched as she abruptly appeared right in front of them.

Gasping immediately, she kicked them all back in the mob form they'd arrived in, watching the bodies fly in the air, she branded her sword and twirled it around for a bit, watching some of the purple lightning fly off the tip. The pawns gradually stood up, some with broken bones staying on the ground writhing in pain, yet those with their bodies intact just readied their daggers running right ahead to kill,

"This… should be fun,"

With her outside, that meant there was the only one available to protect June, and that was her big brother. Exasperated from putting up such a shield over the house, her chest rose and fell gradually, his fists already bloody as they drew back from an enemy's face. Glass littering the atmosphere after breaking through their visor, a kick to the noggin's side sent him spinning in mid-air, hitting a wall to create cracks all around it. Ducking a dagger's diagonal slash then rolling out from a hammer stab to his chest, Ace had got himself into the enemy fire as they were all pointing their barrels to him as he laid there crouched on the floor.

Fingers squeezing the trigger, where he formerly stood was no longer his present placement, as there was only the sound of necks snapping before the crowd of six gunmen fell, dead. Laughter exiting his mouth to the disarray of the other opponent, he revealed his palm, the back, more specifically, to show a bullet hole through his hand,

"Heh… looks like I'm still not THAT fast," Stated Ace with a mocking tone in his voice.

The ginger stared ahead at the horde of men ahead of him, squeezing his fingers, nails digging into his palms, knuckles pointed to the crowd. This sensation, he smirked right at it, his tongue licking his lips stained with his victims' blood, a full crimson engulfing his whole eyeball, bathing in the moonlight, he giggled. Ruby locks vibrant in the darkness of the night, that same red haze that seemed to envelop Katie that night in the Remnant World, and back at the R'lyeh, it was here again.

What about June?

No.

Will Kima be okay?

Shut up.

They didn't matter right now, nothing mattered. Pour out all the hate built up, have it leak out into your fists, tear them limb from limb, have them quaking in fear for your next move,

"I'm going to kill you,"

He was like a blur, the carpet torn in half as he vanished once again, grabbing the one in the middle's face with all fingers. SQUELCH! There the face went, smashed against the wall, head destroyed, bits of brain dirtying the concrete. Without any more thoughts on what to do against this monster, the remaining guards fled with fear struck in their hearts. All heading to the front door, sprinting out so fast their knuckles pained, Wilder cut through a waist watching the innards litter the air.

Then another, then another, more organs entering the atmosphere, more blood decorating the lonesome streets in the dead of this dreadful night. Wives at home slept in their beds, sons in their rooms casually playing away at games, daughters at home talking on the phone with their friends, husbands working away in the nighttime for the support of their family… each of those families had something taken away from them that night.

Decapitating a surrendering one, ridding another of their arms as they lay helpless on their back, the streets were a bloodbath. There he stood, head to the sky, bathing in the moonlight in the red tint of his casualties, Ace seemed to smile. He'd committed an atrocity so horrible that the world would condemn him for it, as he turned back around to see the torn-apart corpses littering the street, he smiled. The tears in his eyes streaming down his cheeks, the sobs were drowned out by maniacal laughter as he held his chest and collapsed to his knees.

Right... things are so much better when I'm not here.

SLICE! An arm went flying right as she drove that blade right through the limb, smashing her heel against the male's chest, another came right for her, leading her to weave backward. Continuously ducking under a rapid amount of diagonal slashes, right, left, she sidestepped out from a forward thrust, grabbing onto their throat with her free hand and throwing her sword into the air. Diverging her entire weight into her fingers so she could smash their figure into the ground, she stared into their bloodied eyes, thick supplements of inner fluid squirting out their skull's rear end. Rolling right over their face, she snatched Ketsueki right before it was about to hit the ground, grip against the hilt tightening, she slid once more out the way for another swordsman to dig their blade into the ground.

Rocks blasting outward from the pressure forced into the weapon, her purple eyes darted from side to side... the pawns were stepping away from the woman, odd. They weren't increasing their pace, once reaching a safe enough range away from her sword's length, they gathered in a circle to watch on, for the battle was about to begin. Black trench coat moving with the wind, strap over his bare chest exposed under the jacket, darkened military pants donned over the legs, and finally, hair tied back into a ponytail, tinted brown, he ascended from the crouched posture. Tearing his blade out the ground, she examined the coloration, the sharpness, the indentations carved into the sides, from this range, and for anyone else, it'd be difficult, but she analyzed with ease.

A sway in his hip as he strutted toward her without a care, it felt like she was gazing upon a majestic god of swords, a true samurai bathing in the epitome of beauty on this wondrous night, the only thing missing from such a scenery were cherry blossoms drifting off the branches of the tree they'd sprouted out from. Lodging his heels into the grass, emerald blades attaching to his soles, he pointed one hand ahead, the other arm behind his back, he bent both knees so he could get in a better stance. The tip of the katana aimed right for the lower gut, the place most vulnerable even with katana blocking,

"{So, you are the one that is the Hunger's daughter. I've been waiting for a chance to do battle with you, young lady. Now, bring it all out, tear me to pieces, do me and my Founder an honor... and fight me to the death!}"

This is a story of acceptance.
