Her bags packed, the luggage zipped shut, she pulled the strap right over her shoulder and tightened with all her might. It had been another day since her first arrival in the Remnant World, with one foot against the carpet welcoming visitors into her home; she stared within. She couldn't even remember all the times she felt so shitty, where she just wanted to be done with this world and perish for good. She didn't cry dramatically or anything, she just turned her head and stared, no one was there but herself. As she gazed indoors, their voices overlapped, and her eyes closed, as if reliving everything… it was like a chaotic tornado ever moving and continuously tormenting her mind.
This time, there was no one around, she was alone and by herself in the brightness of the morning sun's shine. Breathing calmly as she steadied the movements of her chest, she peeled back her eyelids to reveal the hidden beauty of her dark blue eyes. With just one pull while her fingers were interlocked against that knob; she closed the door on that chapter in her life. In the end, as she turned around and went for the car parked near the curb of her home, she knew it would be hard.
To escape those demons, she had lived with them all her life; it'd be much more difficult than anything else before- but this was the first step. Hands throwing the bags into the back seat, Alex turned his head and smiled, spotting her sliding inside to sit by his side, their eyes met, smiles shining against one another. Bright and wide for the Instructor, small and soft for Katie,
"Ready to go, Kay?" Asked the older Al of his new student, leading for her to turn her head to the shell of a home she was now abandoning… she nodded,
"Yeah. I'm ready," Moon answered, afoot to the pedal as the engine roared unleashing a spark of flames to propel it forward.
The vehicle gradually driving down the road, Katie glanced at it one last time, before she inhaled deeply and nodded her head. From then on, as she went forward with her life into a new world, she rode on ahead; to the morning sun, buried within that heightened horizon. From that moment forward, she never looked back, only forward, to a future alight with hopeful dreams, her destination in sight, she kept moving forward.
To a better world. After all, that… was her birthright.
The date was Agust 7th, a Sunday, meaning Ace was… still in bed. Door locked, the morning sun leaking onto his slumbering face, he turned in bed unconsciously twisting away from the window so he could face the pale wall. Wounds gradually restoring as he got his rest, somehow, someway, the lock had been twisted with the knob turning to the side so a girl with white long hair could enter. Smirking like a gremlin, she held a bucket of ice water in both hands, tiptoeing gradually against the carpet. The air conditioner still running to cool the room, the green-eyed young girl giggled, now standing right over her brother's sleeping figure.
Losing the grin as she placed the bucket onto the ground, she rubbed at her chin and pondered about his position. Drool salivating from his lip to drench the pillow, one arm stretched out barely over the edge of the mattress, that would've been perfectly fine,
" I must cleanse you of your sins, brother, rest, my child," June mockingly prayed to the Gods locked above in the Heavens pushing her palms against each other, then opening her eyes and reaching down to the bucket filled with liquid.
SPLASH!!!
"AGHHHHHHHHHH!!"
The screams distant upstairs entered her ears downstairs, an older girl, accustomed with purple lights near the ends of her shortened black locks, took a long sip from her coffee cup. Shadow patterns visible under her eyes, she placed the holder onto the table and shook her head, placing down her phone, her nails scratched at her nape,
"At least they make sure it's not boring around here," Kima leaned back in her chair closing her eyes and moaning as she then stretched her arms high above, cracking her fingers along with her knees.
Elbow resting against the arm of the seat, she turned her head and smiled, even now, she couldn't use her stoic exterior especially seeing the both of them in the doorframe of the kitchen. Their clothes drenched, June with the bucket over her head concealing her vision; Kima stood up and walked on over to them both,
"Nice to see you're finally awake, Ace. Sweet dreams?" Kima questioned with that sort of.. deep motherly tone in her voice, Wilder couldn't resist but put a hand on his hip and glared at her slicking his soaked hair back,
"About you, darling. We could make that dream a reality, if you don't mind-" He spoke with a more flirtatious tone of voice to match her own, however, he was met with a bunch of fingers cupping his face, digging into his cheeks, and puckering his lips,
"Take a shower," Kima said squeezing his face still,
"Should've expected that…" Ace stated in a defeated tone putting his head then, getting a pat on the cheek, Kima walked on over to June taking the bucket off her head,
"You too," Kima demanded strongly patting her head, cute grin over her lips, the siblings reluctantly stomped off to head into their respective showers.
Minutes passed, and the both of them came back downstairs tidied up, clean, dry, and ready for the day. This was the time for introductions! June Wilder, the younger sister of Ace Wilder, now wore a white shirt with her eyes' white planetary pattern it, along with some black jean shorts. One of the shoulders being pushed down to her arm to reveal her bra strap, she jumped onto Ace's back walking in front of her,
"Ah! The hell're you doin'?!" Yelled Wilder quizzically holding onto her legs to make sure she didn't fall,
"Silence, cretin! Take me to the kitchen and whip me up some breakfast, stupid brother!" Demanded June loudly as she wrapped her arms around her sibling's neck from behind… sure enough, it was already clear, but she was the youngest of the group, ranging at about 17,
"Why would I do that when Kimi probably already did for us when we were in the shower..?" Ace asked, her hands covering Divergence implanted into his eyes, he grunted in an irritated tone,
"SILENCE!" Cried June to the air at her brother.
Walking to the kitchen with defeated mumbles under his breath, she removed her covers from over his crimson pupils, entering through the widened doorframe to see Kima. Flipping some pancakes while humming along to the soft song playing in the background, she turned her head to the siblings,
"You two take really long showers, ya know," Commented Kima Myers with that same painted grin over her lips.
As expected; she was the oldest of the group, while 18 like Ace and Katie, she gave off that motherly sort of feeling, which makes sense, considering she was the assigned leader for these Agents. She wore a basic black shirt, sleeves leading up to just above her elbows while donning a checkered skirt, white and black,
"I like soaking," Ace retorted back at her, then placing his sister onto the ground, she bounced right on over to the table,
"Makin' food? Can't wait to eat it all-" Just as Wilder was about to slide his arms around the back of her neck to embrace her, she ducked right under it and slid behind him.
Handed the spatula, he looked down at it, then into her purple eyes, glancing at the pattern below them, she inched closer. Face just a few inches away from his own, he turned his head just a bit so he could look at her cheek,
"Your turn. If I like the food, you may get a surprise~" Flirtatiously whispered Kima in his ear, and just then; he was given all the motivation he needed, the music altered with the flip of a switch… THIS WAS HIS MISSION!
His hands moved at such speeds they weren't able to be registered in this mortal plane, lightning crackling outward at the swiftness he was moving at, pancakes flipped to the air. Eggs' shells were cracked for the yolk to spill into the pan, sizzling to the touch, in addition to that, a slab or two of bacon was placed into another pan. If any bystander were to witness such a sight before them, they'd be baffled, might think this was magic; however, they couldn't be further from the truth. Ace had his goal set out for him the moment Kima whispered into his ear and gave that kiss, he didn't know what awaited beyond the path leading to an unknown horizon, NEVERTHELESS- he kept moving his hands forward. FOR HIS QUEEN!
"I just hope he makes sausage too..." June whispered leaning against her open palm letting it rest against her cheek, Convergence glistening, Divergence doing the same; Ace and his little sister, as if in unison, glanced toward the door.
Kima, seconds away from sitting down, felt the gusts of wind soar past her face, leaving her hair in a mess... and an apron littering the marbled floorboards. Rolling her eyes, she went to regroup with the other two idiots waiting in front of the door, spotting their shadows, June jumped on her brother using his hand as a footstool for her temporary ascension,
"'TIS THE NEW GIRL!!" Yelled the white-haired Wilder to the skies,
"Oh, it is?" Asked the Myers girl peeping around the corner to examine the still-closed door... and just as they suspected, there the two were.
Alex towering over the smaller girl, Katie's eyes sparkled, not only at her new roommates in the front of her beautiful eyes' vibrancy but the rich architecture revealed to her from the interior designs. Amara's smile never faded he couldn't help but widen it... as June pushed her brother away so she could stay in front of him, introducing herself. Some distance away from Moon, she pointed the tip of her finger at her new friend,
"HEY HEY HEY! WELCOME, HUMAN, TO JUNE'S HOUSEHOLD! YOU THE NEW AGENT OR WHATEVER?!" June's loudness sent Katie back to the memories she locked away at the beginning of her day, covering her mouth, puke spilled out the cracks of her fingers; bending her back, she vomited all over the welcoming carpet,
"KAY!" Cried Alex in worry for the girl, kneeling gently, he helped her from the floor, in the end, while she had just hurled; she was unable to cry, as she just stared to the floor with eyes. As if she'd seen a monster.
June shivered at this, Ace pulling her in, Amara carried Katie to the couch in the living room, placing her there, his hand slid over the infinity between his palm and her face. Magically, her consciousness faded, and she started gently snoring, leaving the other three, June hiding behind Ace, her chin on his shoulders, Kima crossing her arms, they all awaited an explanation, ignorantly. All silent, as always, the black-haired girl was the one to step up,
"What's... what just happened?" Confusedly questioned Kima of their Instructor.
Examining her sleeping face, Amara moved a minuscule hair strand away from her eye, dejectedly sighing, he stood up, turning his head to his pupils,
"Katie Moon is the daughter of Azazel Karlo and Blaire Rivera, she's my niece-in-law. Her timeline is different, like yours, Kima. Something happened with her biological parents, she was adopted by foster parents, they were abusive. Research into their backgrounds indicates their upbringing was harsh, to say the least. The mother had experienced a sort of abuse in her past, and she moved past that trauma, but when she met the father, it seemed she'd been roped into becoming the very thing she hated. Recently, she reported them to the police. Ace was the catalyst for this, under my orders. Needless to say, her mental state is unstable. You should all be careful about being around Katie and your volume levels, you could trigger her PTSD. It looks like she's on the path to being better, she's taken the first steps by accepting being part of ANZEN, feeling less powerless, I think she has somewhat of a problem around crowds, though. Ace is the only person she's been open with so far, so, if you want to get a bit into her mind, he's your guys' best bet. I'll be staying with you all until she wakes up... and June-" Alex, in the middle of informing the ignorant proteges he taught, had singled out the youngest, leading to her peeking out from behind her brother's back,
"Y-yes?" Asked June sheepishly,
"It's not your fault, you didn't know," Ace reassured, patting her head as he stepped closer, he looked to the kitchen; the smell of smoke lingering over his nostrils,
"You guys suck at cooking," Al commented, Ace, turned his head and ran right into the kitchen, June hopping after him, they argued together in the background, leaving Kima to sigh as she rolled her eyes while Amara chuckled at their childish antics,
"Is she going to be okay here...? June and Ace are both crazy," Kima inquired of their advisor as she stepped up, to which he sighed, hands shoving into his pockets, he pushed the weight on a singular leg as he leaned to the air,
"Truth be told, I have no idea. I was a victim of abuse, too, mental and physical. So much so I developed a split personality and mentally put my parents in a much more positive light they deserved. It took me a couple o' years to recover from that shit..." Confessed Al to Kima, something she'd never heard before, she took it normally,
"How did you recover from something like that?" Curiously questioned Kima of the older man, to which he confidently laughed, rubbing his chin,
"I had my friends. I loved them like they were my own family. I used that personality as a hide for my true self with only embers of my real persona showing through it. Many things changed, but there's something I can never avoid. I want to help as many people as I can... so they don't have to go through the same thing I did. Take care of her when I'm not here, okay, Kima?" Al asked awaiting the usual response which was something like,
"Just leave it to me!" Kima declared, leaving her with a ruffle of her kept-together hair, she watched as he walked past to rejoin the chaotic siblings in the kitchen, waving around his phone, Ace's face fell while June jumped excitedly,
"Guess we're orderin'..." Kima deduced with a whisper, she shook her head from side to side, she reached for her eyes, a broken chuckle spouting from her lips, she wiped at the corners...
"Not the time..."
As everyone was up and awake, playing around, ordering food for the upcoming meal, Kate slept, the only one there in this room with her was Kima, staring upon her face... she slept so calmly as if she were an Angel. ~How beautiful~ Thought Myers. It was as though something was calling out to her from the darkness, her purple eyes examining her shape, she smiled,
~Take care of her when I'm not here, okay, Katie?~
All she had to say was but one word to this sleeping beauty, so carefree in the world of dreams, Kima's chest tightened...
"Welcome to your new home... Katie Moon."
This is a story of acceptance.
