"I was joking, master." Ming Yue snorted as she struggled to control her laughter when she saw Wan Yi Jun's dumbfounded face. She couldn't believe that he was so easily gullible even though he was a police officer.
However, oblivious to her thoughts, Wan Yi Jun was tangled in the excruciating memories from his past, just because of Ming Yue's careless remark.
"Master, are you alright?" She asked in concern when she received no response from the man who remained frozen at the spot. She gently waved her hands and tried to pull him from the dazed state.
"Did I scare you, master? I was only joking." Ming Yue added without any delay,
Hearing her words, a heavy sigh fell from Wan Yi Jun's mouth as he reached out for water.
