When the news of her pregnancy broke to Nick he felt a weird kind of emotion. Something he hadn't felt in his life. It was not frightening or anxious it was a filling emotion that made him find peace. He never knew that his empty life would suddenly get a bunch of unnamed feelings that made him feel nothing but happiness.
"I want to abort the child! I can't give birth to it," said Zarin as she sat across from him at his office with her hands around her belly. She was looking away with pain. Nick was taken aback as his happiness was cut short making him agitated and he stood up angrily.
"What are you talking about? Why would you do that? It's your child!" HE said. Zarin didn't respond to it and remained silent.
"Say something." HE demanded to which Zarin looked at him in the eyes. "So what are you suggesting? That I keep it? Have you lost your mind?" She responded with a stiff tone as well catching him by surprise.
