Everything that needed to be done had been completed. The city walls were erected and the arrays had been set in place. Those in the know of the guild hall all felt a wave of calm wash over them. 25,000 soldiers and a few dragons were approaching.
Most of the city's civilians had begun to panic over the last week. Mikax felt it was best to find out who was willing to stick by them in good or bad times now and not when the soldiers showed up. He had already laid the groundwork for backup. All he had to do was simply recruit it.

In the council chamber sat the 5 remaining council members. Kharis, Elluin, Therux, Naunal, and the only elf to have stayed mute so far Hagwin. This, however, was not out of character for him as he rarely if ever spoke out loud.
