''I can turn you into my mom if I want to. It is better than allowing that witch to marry my father''
Amanda stepped aside and lifted her brows at Ozge, as if challenging her on purpose. Ozge looked at the little girl and chuckled. Never had she encountered such a brave girl before in her entire life.
Ozge pulled Amanda closer to her and replied, ''be careful little girl. I am the worse person to pick as a mother. For the record, I just got out of prison and I am not interested in a single father''
Amanda frowned and folded her arms around her chest. She glared at Ozge and they both lifted their brows at each other.
''Amanda!'' A deep husky voice called from the entrance.
''Daddy, I found mommy'' Amanda ran to her father and held his hand. She pulled him along until they got to Ozge. Amanda hit Ozge's leg and said to her, ''mommy, I brought daddy''
Ferit looked at the lady who was still seated on the chair. Half of her face was covered by her long black hair. She was holding her phone tightly. His eyes scanned her body, she wasn't slender, neither was she plump. She was simply a thick Latino curvy woman with a slightly darker skin.
''Ozge, the father of the girl is…'' Leyla paused when she saw Ferit. Her eyes twitched a little, and she turned to look at Ozge who was still sitting down with her hair over her face.
''You must be the father of the kid, right?'' Leyla asked.
''Yes, I received a call from the police. Is everything alright?'' Ferit asked.
''Yes, everything is fine. Your daughter just mistaken my friend for her mother, but it's okay''
''I see, my apologies. Sometimes, Amanda can be mischievous. Your friend…'' Ferit turned to look at Ozge.
''Oh, don't worry about her. She is not socially open to new people. Since you are here, I will take her away''
''Mom, are you alright?'' Amanda asked worriedly.
''Amanda, that's enough. The lady doesn't want to be disturbed. Thank you for being with my daughter, we will take our leave first'' Ferit said and lifted Amanda, carrying her away as she sobbed.
''Mommy, please save me''
Ferit stopped at the entrance and turned to look at Ozge for a moment before going out.
Leyla sighed and tapped Ozge's shoulder, ''babe, they are gone''
Ozge looked up and stood up, ''let's go''
''Oo'' Leyla hurried and followed Ozge out of the police station.
….
A.S Apartment Complex.
Leyla pulled over in front of the apartment complex and turned to Ozge, ''this is the place. Isn't it beautiful. Let me tell you, I used a lot of connections in order to get you the apartment in this building''
Ozge looked at the storey building in front of her and frowned, ''which floor am I?''
''6th floor, just before the penthouse at the 7th floor. I don't know who owns that penthouse but that person must be sitting on money. Do you know that there is a private elevator that goes there? This person doesn't even have to wait for anyone. If the person there is a man that is good. If he is single, that is even better''
''Boring'' Ozge said and got out of the car.
''Er, wait'' Leyla got down from the car and followed Ozge inside.
''If the owner of the penthouse is single, you have to catch him fast. Aye, I am worried that with your temperament, you will end up alone. As your one and only best friend, I can only try my best to hook you up. But, don't worry, there are a lot of handsome and single men in the emergency ward. If we don't find a match, we can just hook up with a man from a different department. In any case, I must make sure you get a man before your 30th birthday''
Ozge didn't bother to listen to Leyla. To her, Leyla was just making noise. She had heard her rattle about this more than once, so it wasn't new to her. When they got to the counter, Leyla introduced Ozge to them.
''Uncle, good evening''
''Leyla, how are you?''
''I'm fine, uncle. Here, this is Ozge, my best friend. She is the one who is going to live in apartment 040 in the 6th floor''
''I see, hello Miss Ozge''
''Hi'' Ozge nodded her head.
''We will leave now. See you around, uncle''
''Sure, Leyla''
Ozge and Leyla got into the elevator and pressed the floor number. As soon as their elevator closed, a lady entered the building. She was dressed fashionably in a tight low cut mini dress. She looked exceptionally slender like a model.
''Miss Demit, the boss has asked that you not be allowed into the penthouse until he gives the permission''
Demit completely ignored the man at the reception and went straight towards the private elevator.
….
''Alright, don't worry'' Ferit said before hanging up the call. He had just received a call from the man at the reception. He placed the phone on the table and heard the sound of the door opening.
Ferit adjusted his bathrobe and turned to face Demit.
''Ferit, how is Amanda doing? I heard she caused a ruckus and threw a tantrum when I left the restaurant''
''Demit, didn't uncle Yusef tell you that I asked him not to allow strangers into my house without my consent?''
''Ferit, I already apologised for leaving Amanda alone at the restaurant'' Demit sat down on the sofa and picked the whiskey bottle to pour herself a glass. Ferit snatched the bottle away.
''Demit, leave my house. it is already late''
''I will leave but let me speak with Amanda. I heard she pulled a random woman and called her mommy. How could she do that? The world is so dangerous, what if the woman decides to take advantage of this and use her to get close to you? Ferit, you have to be careful with these kind of women''
''Are you done?'' Ferit asked her in an unpleasant tone.
''Ferit…''
''Do you view every woman as an opportunist? Demit, what right do you have to judge others when you are with me for the same reasons that you want to be with me. Leave, I don't want you near my daughter again''
''Ferit, I have been with you for five years, since your accident. I took care of you and Amanda…''
''Were you really the one who took care of me?'' Ferit asked and smirked. He didn't say anything again and went to his bedroom.
Demit stood up and looked at the door for a while before she left. When she got into the elevator, she removed her phone and made a call to an anonymous person.
''Find out if Ozge Ausman is out of prison or not. I want to know in an hour time''
…
Flashes of images kept evading Ozge's mind as she took her bath. Ozge's breath started becoming heavy, so she turned off the shower and picked a towel. She wrapped it around her body and staggered out of the bathroom but as she got to the door, she fell down.
Her hand quivered as she tried to hold onto the door. her vision turned blurry and she slowly lost consciousness.

Five years ago.
Xuimin Medical School.
Department of Thoracic and Neurology.
Office of the Dean.
''Miss Ausman, I understand your situation but unfortunately the scholarship didn't cover final year medical students. So, for this last semester you would have to pay the reminder of the fees and the hostel fees before the end of the month to guarantee your slot in the open Ferit Hospital Internship. Know that, with this internship, once you are done with your first year as a resident, you are guarantee a place''
''I understand, Dean. Then, if there is nothing else, I will be on my way now''
''Ozge, if I find someone looking for a caretaker I shall recommend you''
''Mm, thank you Dean'' Ozge smiled and walked out of the office. After closing the door, she sighed and looked at her friend.
''Ozge, what did the Dean say?'' Leyla asked.
''There is really nothing that can be done about it, Leyla. Let's go, I'm hungry''
''Mm, it's my treat. You can eat whatever you want'' Leyla pulled Ozge along as they walked out of the school premises.
Xuimin Medical School was the top medical university in the whole of Country V. Every year, a lot of students would fight for a slot to get into it. But, due to the high standard for students, only a few are able to get in.
There were 20 different departments in the university and each department thrived to admit only the best students.
In the case of Ozge, she was a top student in her high school and completed with straight A's, granting her a scholarship to study medicine in the Xuimin Medical School.
Now, after studying for seven years, she was set to graduate but she lacked funds to pay her final year fees. Now, she had to double the number of part time jobs that she took.
