Daisy laid there staring at Leo until the oven timer went off and he finally opened his eyes. He caught her and seemed rather delighted by it. His face broke into a satisfied, sleepy smile as he stretched.
"Good morning, Daisy!"
"Good morning. And happy birthday. I made you breakfast but I need to go get it out of the oven now."
He sat up, startled, as she got out of bed and gripped the sheets as he gazed at her intensely. "You remember?!"
"Uh, yeah. Sorry if that's weird. I saw it on your driver's license on Valentine's Day and figured we should celebrate. If you don't want to, we totally don't have to do anything but I thought it might be nice," Daisy said lamely.
Leo's shoulders curled forward as if he was disappointed. What was that about? "Oh. It's not weird. I'm glad you want to celebrate it. That's really nice of you."
