Chapter 1 - The Visitor

"Taxi!"

An hour before midnight, luckily the city is still alive even at this hour of the night for me to easily get a cab after doing overtime again, good thing too since it's been raining the whole day. Still, I should really leave on time more.

I hurriedly open the door to the car before I get wet even more than I already have. I sat on the backseat with a thud droplets from the rain soaking the seat and the floor, hopefully the driver doesn't mind it too much.

"Where to lad?" The elderly driver asked as he took a look at me in his rearview mirror, "Forgot your umbrella I see?"

"Irmington good sir, specifically Curie Street," I answered as I dampen my soaked face with my handkerchief, "Ah yes, I trusted the weatherman when he said there was only a 20% chance of rain, didn't cross my mind it'll be a downpour."

"Heh," The driver laughed, he seemed well natured enough, "You youngsters need to be prepared for everythin'!"

"Haha I'll keep that in mind."

As the cab whirred it's engine and went on it's merry way, I found myself staring out the window, I can see all the lights coming from the cars, they're dazzling sure, but after the first couple of times you see them, it just becomes repetitive and dull.

"'Prepared for everything', huh?" I whispered to myself remembering the driver's earlier words. If I was prepared I guess I wouldn't have been stuck in this situation I guess.

I continued staring outside the window as I reminisce about the past, why I even ended up in the big city, it was 3 years ago, I think? I and my then girlfriend decided we'd both get jobs in the capital, it was fun at first, both of us against the world, we only needed each other to survive. But then life becomes complicated, reality comes knocking at the door and it comes to remind you that money is needed and your meager savings can't deal what life would throw at you, luckily for my ex, she was given an opportunity to work for a big firm overseas, money was needed though so I also pitched in thinking it was for our future, unluckily for me, she ended up falling for some rich guy at said company and decided to cut off all ties with me. I mean it probably wasn't all about that, I might have done a few mistakes as well, still though kind of a bitch move but eh. And now I'm stuck here where she left me trying to re-earn everything I gave her since my family, whom I neglected after meeting her, is now having financial problems, so yeah fuck my life. So yeah, I guess if I had been prepared maybe I'd still have that money.

As I grumbled to myself, the familiar neighborhood where I live started to came to view. It was a fairly neat place, wasn't a ghetto but wasn't a utopia for good citizens either, especially when you get reminded everyday that this district has a prison.

I gave the fare to the driver and went out the car, the rain had was fairly much strong, not as strong as when I left the office, but still enough to make me take out the umbrella. As I was doing this though, I think I saw something moved behind the stairs to the apartment. It was pretty fast, might have been a raccoon or something, I should probably make a report to the landlady tomorrow.

I proceeded to walk up the stairs, the floors being slippy, I was quite slow, though this made me take a good look at this complex again. It was an old building already from what I remember, the landlady's grandfather was a WWII veteran and that after the war, he bought a huge plot of land and turn it to what it is today, the man probably had a good mind for business, houses and properties would cost you an arm and a leg these days, turning this place into something profitable was a good idea, although the man's taste in design is crap, the apartment complex's color is full camo, added to that, it has quite a garden around it that's mostly shrubs, the place was all green! I'd tell the landlady that the I can't find the house since its camouflaged, but the look on her face told me that she'd punch me in the face if I tell her that joke.

As these thoughts pass through my head, I suddenly heard something moving around the bushes near the stairs, though it's too dark to make anything out of it, though it was kind of big, do raccoons even get that big? Might have to call the pest control as well.

I neared my door and started to reach into my pocket for the keys. After opening the door though, a black whirlwind like figure suddenly charged at me. I literally didn't know what to do, I just stood the as the thing that came after me and tackled me into the room. I managed to land on my back and rolled away to from this assailant so I can get something to protect me with from the kitchen. Unfortunately, this whirlwind was fast it managed to tackle me for a second time and we ended u rolling towards the kitchen, but this thing ended up on top of me.

I was then able to get a good look at the intruder since my kitchen has a window and the rain seems to have stop causing some moonlight to seep in. It was a woman, she sported a long hair tied to a ponytail but the tussle from earlier disheveled it and now half of her hair is covering her face.

After seeing a good look at her, I saw her lips open and out came her voice, "Sorry for this."

SMACK

"Nngghhh" I groaned as I opened my eyes, I can feel a throbbing pain in my forehead, Did I drank last night? Clearly though that wasn't the case, as I looked around I can see that I was in the kitchen and the moonlight behind me showed that it was still dark. I found myself seated on one of the dining room chairs facing towards the living room and for some reason I was on the most middle part of the room, not even near the table. I tried to get up so I can sleep in my bedroom, but the tape wrapped around my chest and shins prevented me.

Wait a minute…

The memory before I passed out then came flooding me. Someone attacked me in my own home and had me tied up. The grogginess leaving me, I immediately looked around the room to look for my attacker, the fast movements of my head didn't help with the throbbing pain though.

"Dammit," Thoughts suddenly came into my mind, thoughts like Did I have any enemies that wanted to do this to me? No, I mean I'm a pretty nice guy why would anyone I know ever? Still though, what do they want from me? Is it money? Why'd they'd have to tie me up though? Is it actually some sick maniac that gets off of torturing people? Shit, I hope not.

"You're finally awake."

A soft female voice, the same voice I heard before getting knocked out came to my ears. I looked up to see where it came from, emerging from the shadows was a thin figure holding a roll of duct tape and for some reason she was wearing one of my shirts though it looked a bit big for her since it reached her legs which are very bare, they were so white the light from the moon was practically reflecting from it. As she got closer I got a good look at her face now. Her hair was disheveled before but it's properly tied now. Her skin was pure white and her face looked stunning. Green eyes glowed as the moonlight touched them, small yet pointed was a little red and her lips, though curled into a smile seems to be hiding mischief. I honestly thought she looked quite beautiful, and for a moment I forgot that she was an intruder in my house and that she tied me up against my will.

"Did you get a good look?"

I thought she said that because I was gaping, but then I found out my mouth was actually sealed shut with tape as well.

"Mmgghh!!"

"Sorry for the intrusion again," She clapped her hands together as if to make an apologetic gesture but her tone definitely says she's amusing herself. "It was already pretty late and I needed a place to crash, it just so happens you're the lucky guy."

Lucky my ass, you tackled and gave me a concussion!

"What's with the tense stare? I said I'm sorry," She continued to walk towards me. Crossing her arms the loose shirt tighten around her chest area, she then bent over my eye level and I can immediately see the light outside being reflected from the skin of her cleavage, I think she hasn't notice though.

Damn…

"Does your head still hurt or something?" I wasn't paying much attention because of the sight, but then the woman flick my forehead.

"MGGHH!"

"Heh, you fucking pervert," She said with a little laugh and a tint of disgust.

You're the one flaunting your body here woman!

She then proceeded to walk behind me and seem to have taken something from the drawers. The light from behind was blocked a second later and I felt her body heat as she leaned on my head a moment later, she leaned my kitchen knife on my neck. The cold steel brushing against my skin eliminated the heavy feeling in my head and any sense of arousal I had from this woman earlier, being replaced with cold sweat and sense of panic.

Fuck! She's going to straight up kill me! "MMMGGHHH!"

"Shh," She whispered near my ear. "Now, now, the neighbor might hear us you know. We wouldn't want that," I felt a trickle of my blood leaving my neck. "Would we?"

I felt myself paralyzed. As if a prey, in the mercy of its predator, I can only feel the fear through my whole body.

"Good!" She exclaimed as if she was a school girl getting a gift. She then proceeded to walk in front of me again, I didn't even dare look down her shirt, afraid of what she'll do.

This woman's definitely a fucking psycho!

"Now, I'm going to take this tape of your mouth, and if you scream," She stood up straight and placed her fingers on my chin to tilt my face upwards, she then curled her lips into a smile, with her devilishly calm soft voice, she continued. "I'll stab you, okay?"

I felt cold sweat dripping down my whole back. Before I can even nod in agreement, she straight up yanked the tape off, I can feel my stubble getting ripped off of my face.

I only managed to stifle the scream by biting my lip, This bitch…!

"Ohh, didn't think you'd be able to hold it in," she teased as she squatted in front of me, one hand holding her cheek and the other the knife. "I was looking forward to it you know~"

"W-What the hell do you want?" I can finally talk, but the fear from earlier made me stutter. "I-is it money? Just take it and please leave."

She smiled as if she was enjoying this whole thing.

"Well, that would be nice, but as I said I just needed a place to crash, for a few days maybe," She stood up and took one of the chairs to sit with her legs cross. She looked quite majestic as she sat under the moonlight really, but damn she's crazy. "And I need your cooperation, if you refuse I can just take the place for myself of course."

"And how do you plan to do that?" Why the hell did I even ask that?!

She widened her eyes in surprised, but instantly relaxed her expression with a mischievous smile on her face.

"I think you already have an idea, don't you?" She said this as she placed the knife to cover her face and traced the dull part, on the other side of the knife, I saw my bound self. "Oh and fun fact, I know how to hide a deadbody. So, do we have a deal?"

I can only swallow the lump in my throat. "Alright, you can stay."

"Ha!" She laughed, mockingly. "Don't answer like you had much of a choice tough guy."

She has point, I mean I'm basically being taken as a prisoner here.

"Well, no matter," The woman stood up and strut towards me, she stopped a feet away and then used the point of the knife to nudge my chin upwards. "Since were going to be living under the same roof, I'd at least be courteous enough to know your name."

"It's Clarence" I responded. "Clarence Daleman."

She snorted at the sound of my name, "Pfft, Clarence? God that's such a nerdy name, although you do look the part."

After mocking my name for a few more seconds, she removed the knife from my chin and seems to be thinking of something.

"Alright, I'll just call you 'Clyde', much better than Clarence."

This woman just outright made a nickname for me after saying she'll be courteous and call me by my name.

"Fine," I sighed, "What about you?"

"Oh me? The name's Bonnie Reed" After telling me her name, she once again sat on the chair across me. "Now, how about we discuss our living arrangements?"
