Chapter 21 - Iris’ Plan

Melia had been frowning and not saying a word, which made Iris even more arrogant.

"I believe that the elders are very clear about how important the sword is. If the humans were to bring the sword out of the Dragon Kingdom and take over the Laszka tribe, it would be a disaster!"

The elders nodded in agreement after hearing Iris's words.

Elder Gawain stood out and said seriously, "Since the sword reappeared in the Saka continent, not only the humans, but other races will also fight for it. When that time comes, this continent will be in a bloody mess!"

"That's right. The reason why the Dragon Kingdom has survived until now is because the other races are no match for us. But now, with the help of the Laszka tribe, I'm afraid..."

The other elders all stood up and spoke. Iris was even more pleased with herself when she saw the scene in front of her. When she thought of that dirty guy, Li Mo, she added fuel to the fire in front of the elders.

"In my opinion, that human slave is also involved. How could the sword be stolen by the humans after he appeared? The Dragon Palace is surrounded by poisonous fog and the entrance is hidden. How could the humans sneak in so easily?"

Upon hearing Iris's words, Elder Gawain came to a sudden realization.

"Aiya, Iris, are you saying that the slave is colluding with the human race?"

Hearing the people chatter non-stop, and even involving Li Mo. Melia's pretty face scrunched up, and she felt a splitting headache.

She looked at Elder Al, whose face was gradually darkening, and said, "Elder Al, the most important thing at the moment is to find the sword. As for Li Mo, I believe that he will not collude with the human race who has sneaked in."

Elder Al narrowed his eyes and did not reply.

Iris, who was standing at the side, roared angrily, "Even at this time, you are still speaking up for that slave. I think that you have already been blinded by him and are unable to make a correct judgment."

Following that, she made a battle pose, intending to attack Melia.

Melia glanced coldly at Iris and scoffed, "You dare to challenge me with your weak powers? Have you forgotten my previous warning? Or do you prefer to be locked up in a cage like an animal?"

Upon hearing Melia's disdainful tone, Iris became furious, her face turning green and white.

The other elders looked at Melia with dissatisfaction. Because of the mistake she made and her attitude, the distrust in them grew even stronger.

Seeing that the two of them were ready to fight again, Elder Al spoke up.

"Enough."

After hearing the voice, Melia suppressed her anger and sat down. Iris only stood up straight and glared at Melia.

Then, Elder Al asked, "Melia, how do you plan to deal with this matter?"

"What can she do? Her mind is filled with that despicable..."

Iris scolded angrily. Seeing Elder Al glance at her, she instantly shut up and swallowed the rest of her words.

Elder Al looked at Melia again, waiting for her answer.

"Elder Al, Li Mo is still interrogating the three intruders. As long as they confess the location of the sword, I will definitely get it back."

"Besides, the person who took the Sword of Laszka was just an ordinary swordsman. It's impossible for him to walk out of the Dragon Palace."

Elder Al was obviously not satisfied with this answer.

Iris immediately said, "Since the humans dared to break into the Dragon Palace, their plan must be very thorough. So what if he's just an ordinary swordsman? What if the humans already have a mage waiting for them?"

Everyone frowned. Iris's words were not unreasonable, and what she said was very likely to happen.

If the Sword of Laszka was still in the Dragon Palace, then it was only a matter of time before they found it. However, if it was as Iris said, the humans had a mage waiting for them outside the Dragon Palace, then it would be very difficult for them to find it.

Seeing that Elder Al was looking at Iris with more consideration in his eyes, Melia began to feel anxious.

The elders discussed animatedly. When they thought about how the dragon race would face a disaster after the other race subdued the Lazska tribe, they all showed a hint of panic.

Elder Gawain asked Iris, "Iris, what do you think?"

Iris smiled lightly and looked at Melia scornfully. "What can I do? Melia, as the Dragon Queen, you have to take responsibility for this since you're the one to blame."

Seeing the look in Iris' eyes, Melia did not say anything.

Iris continued, "The loss of the Sword of Laszka is no small matter. But, I suggest that we don't push Melia too hard. We'll give her a week to return it."

Elder Gawain looked at Iris in puzzlement. He could not understand why Iris did this. Wasn't that giving Melia a chance?

Iris smiled and said, "Of course, if Melia couldn't bring the sword back after a week, it proves that she doesn't have what it takes to be the Dragon Queen. At that time, she must be relieved from the throne."

As soon as Iris finished speaking, everyone began to discuss in low voices.

Especially the elders who were with Melia. They all felt that Iris did this to take the throne away from Melia.

Melia grabbed the handle of the chair angrily and looked at Iris fiercely.

At this moment, she finally understood that Iris had trapped her.

If that swordsman really had the support of a mage, the Sword of Laszka would have already left the Dragon Kingdom by now. Then, she would have to leave the Dragon Kingdom in order to retrieve the sword.

Iris saw the fury in Melia's eyes and looked back at her proudly.

So what if Melia had figured out her plan at that moment? She had won this battle!

Many elders were displeased with Melia because of what she said. Even Elder Al was not happy.

As long as Melia left the Dragon Kingdom, she had plenty of ways to rope the other elders to her side and get their support.

Even if Melia was unwilling to leave the Dragon Kingdom, Iris had many ways to pressure her.

The twelfth elder had already begun to waver because of the missing sword. With a bit of persuasion, Melia would not be able to withstand the pressure, and she would have to give up the throne.

Iris's smile became even more arrogant, she could see herself on the throne.

The elders clearly did not have any objections to Iris's suggestion. Even Elder Al looked at Melia calmly, waiting for her to accept.
