Chapter 13 - Breakthrough to Level 10

After spitting out the venom, the elite water spider seemed a little dispirited. Seuss took advantage of this opportunity to continue charging forward.

Seuss's skill had just finished its cooldown. He rushed in front of the elite water spider and smashed his blade onto its head.

The elite water spider was stunned again. This time, Seuss did not waste any more time and continued to circle behind the water spider.

Three seconds was almost up, but Seuss did not immediately use Backstab to stun the water spider. Instead, he continued to attack the elite water spider.

When the water spider was about to turn around, Seuss stabbed it in the back with his dagger.

The water spider entered a state of dizziness again. Seuss moved his feet as he attacked and stood directly behind the water spider.

Just now, Seuss did not connect the water spider's stun timings seamlessly. Instead, he made the water spider do some unimportant actions like turning around during the two stuns.

Because of this action, Seuss attacked the water spider twice more.

Just as Seuss moved behind the water spider, the Backstab effect ended.

The water spider tried to turn around again, but Seuss's rage meter was almost full.

"Dire hit!"

"Dire hit completed. Attack location deviated by 9%, causing additional damage."

A frighteningly high number floated above the water spider's head.

However, at this moment, the water spider had already turned around. Its abdomen tightened as it raised its head high, ready to spit out cobwebs.

"Kick."

Seuss's side kick landed on the abdomen of the water spider. The spider's String Shot skill was interrupted, and it fell into the skill's backlash state.

After two waves of attacks, the health points of the elite water spider were less than one quarter. While attacking the water spider, he walked behind it.

He tried another dire hit, and this time the rage meter was not enough, thus it only dealt more than 90 points of damage to the water spider. However, it did not matter because it was the last of the water spider's health points.

The giant elite water spider slowly collapsed to the ground, and golden light flashed across Seuss's body.

"Congratulations to Player Stars for being the first to break through level ten and unlocking the Rank Leaderboard, Gouge skill has been awarded."

The system announcement sounded three times. Seuss had reached level 10.

At the same time, Seuss received a message on his game interface.

"Your level has reached level 10. Please head to the Class Hall and look for your instructor to advance your class. Experience you gain now will be accumulated until the player completes the Class Advancement Quest."

Watching the corpse of the elite water spider slowly dissipate, Seuss picked up the monster's dropped item.

Two rare fine silk, one sturdy silk sac, one gold coin, and a pair of poisonous fangs. Seuss checked his rewards. After using all his strength, he had finally killed this elite water spider.

And that was only because they were on land. If they were in the water, Seuss and its fate would have been reversed.

However, now that he had reached level 10, the most important thing was to return to the city and put on his gold equipment, the Thanksgiver's Boots.

Anyway, he could only accumulate experience now.

With the Thanksgiver's Boots, it would only take a few minutes to kill a water spider by using the skill of the Thanksgiver's Boots. It was much more efficient than now.

And he didn't have to worry about any danger.

Seuss jumped into the lake again and looked at the beautiful underwater scene. He swam slowly to the shore and came to the old man.

He took out the two rare fine silk and handed them to the old man, which was Doctor Blevins.

"How many fine silks have you collected, young man?" asked Doctor Blevins, when he saw Seuss return.

"Esteemed elder, these are the two rare fine silk that I have found. Please take a look," Seuss replied according to the standard quest dialogue.

"After processing fine silk, only then will fine silk become rare fine silk. Each rare fine silk is equivalent to six ordinary fine silk." The old man explained and asked Seuss, "Have you decided to give them to me?"

"Yes," Seuss replied.

Two rare fine silk were equivalent to twelve ordinary fine silk, and one elite water spider could be considered equivalent to a group of water spiders. It seemed that it was more worth hunting elite water spiders instead.

However, it was also normal. The entire lake was filled with ordinary water spiders while that elite had to be lured out by Seuss after opening the treasure chest. It was not so easy to find another elite water spider.

After handing over the rare fine silk to the old man, the quest began to progress.

"You have received twelve rolls of silks."

"Doctor Blevins's quest is now 10% completed."

Seuss calculated in his mind when he saw the two quest notifications.

The completion rate of twelve fine silk was 10%, which meant that this quest required 120 fine silk. If he wanted to complete this quest alone, he would have to kill more than three thousand water spiders.

It would take at least two days if he were to do it alone.

Every fine silk could be exchanged for one roll of silk, so the final reward of this quest should require silk. Otherwise, there was no reason to reward him 120 rolls of silk.

Thinking of this, Seuss suddenly felt that this quest was really profitable.

In the auction house, the price of a roll of silk was higher than the price of fine silk. Even if the final reward of this quest was not much, just 120 rolls of silk would be enough to make a tidy profit.

Needless to say, the reward for this quest seemed to be very generous.

However, Seuss did not want to continue grinding. Now that the game had just started, spending two whole days just to obtain fine silk was really not worth it.

Since the auction house had it, he might as well buy it.

The only problem now was money.

The price of each fine silk in the auction house varied from 7 to 9 silver coins. If Seuss purchased in large quantities, the price would continue to rise.

In other words, since Seuss was still short of 108 fine silk, he needed at least 8 gold coins, or even more.

How could he earn money quickly? Seuss racked his brains and thought. It was still the early stages of the game. Eight gold coins was not a small sum.

Suddenly, an idea flashed through Seuss's mind as he recalled the announcement he had heard last night.

As long as he could complete the first clear of the BOSS, he would be rewarded with 100 gold coins.

And now, there was a ready-made BOSS in front of them, the leader of the night cats.

In reality, BOSS was a commonly used term by the players. In Sanctuary, it referred to Overlord-level monsters.

However, the problem now was that even if Seuss had reached level 10, it would be very difficult for him to defeat the leader of the night cats even if he wore the gold tier Thanksgiver's Boots.

Suddenly, Seuss's game interface rang again. He opened it and saw that it was a message from Daydreamer.

"Brother Stars, I didn't expect you to be the first to break through to level ten. I still thought you were a beginner, but you're truly a real god."

"Also, the damage on the forum was also caused by you, right? How satisfying. Those people in Desert Guild have always been arrogant and despotic. I've long disliked them."

Seuss sighed with emotion in his heart. How had the Desert Guild always done things in the past to even make a social butterfly feel that they were arrogant?

Daydreamer's message came again.

"But don't worry, those people in the Desert Guild seem to be busy right now. They have swallowed this anger and won't find trouble with you for the time being."

Only then did Seuss finally have a chance to send a message.

"Are you free this afternoon? I need your help!"
