Chapter 27 - Successor

Kaz woke up from the first proper sleep he has had since being on this planet. He stretched back enough to make his legs shake a bit before getting up. When he left his room he realized that he saw the husk king sleeping outside of the room Kaz was in, and Xohasis watching from down the halfway. Kaz walked over to Xohasis to ask why the boy was sleeping outside of his room?

"He seems to be drawn to you, you are essentially acting as his god right now and he can feel that connection." Xohasis replied without removing his eyes from the boy. "He is amazing, I wish I could have been more active in the nurturing of this world. I feel responsible for allowing him to struggle for no fault of his own, but I am proud to have a new Adam."

Kaz looked over with a quizzical look. "Adam?"

Xohasis turned to him with a slight smile. "The first boy of my new creations. Usually the first intelligent beings are labeled as Adam and Eve when a planet is made."

Kaz turned back towards the boy. "Adam does fit him, let's go with that."

Xohasis chuckled. "You don't actually have to name him that, although I don't mind it either."

Adam stirred and looked around and locked onto Kaz, with his pressure it felt somewhat uncomfortable, so Kaz pushed back with his domain, making Adam realize what he did. He scuttled towards Kaz and hugged him, coming up to slightly higher than his waist. Kaz smiled at Adam, feeling a sense of kinship with him as well due to the nature of their connection. Kaz rustled his hair in response.

'He reminds me of new kids when they showed up at the orphanage and would cling to Rika.'

Kaz sighed imagining what Rika would think of this situation.

'System, how long would it take this boy to learn how to communicate? I am assuming faster than that of a normal child if his mind is heightened as well.'

[That ultimately depends on what environment he is in, anywhere from a month to a year he should be able to speak with relative ease especially since his mind has very little knowledge of the world now.]

"By the way, I had been meaning to ask, how were you able to make most of the things here?" Xohasis asked Kaz a question he was somewhat dreading considering how he would have to explain it.

"Well, when I awoke in this world I was given a few abilities that allowed me to look back into my past and access archives of information I used to be around. It just so happened that I was around an area that had information on materials, their uses, chemical properties as well as how to identify them or transmute them. I was able to scavenge old structures for most of these materials as well as create a few mines that I get most of my materials from." Kaz answered as honestly as possible without revealing too much.

"I see…did you find that weapon within a structure?" Xohasis gestured at the spear that was at the hallway entrance, almost as if it was waiting for Kaz like Adam was.

"Oh…no I made it after examining the properties of the crystals that have mana in them."

"YOU WHAT?! You made a soul weapon? I don't sense that to be a lie, but how could you be able to make that?"

"Well, My skill also lets me build and modify things within my mind then recreate exact copies. I thought of a concept by using the crystals as pathways for mana to travel through as well as infusing the blade to allow light and mana to be focused into different forms. I also used a gem of a stage higher than what you gave me earlier."

Xohasis seemed surprised and also skeptical of that statement." You found a soul fruit? That's impossible, I would have felt it form, and I purposely refrained from allowing those to form."

"Yea well, I made that too."

Immediately the god pulled out a cluster and dropped it in front of him. "If you can change this into  a soul fruit, I will give you a thousand more clusters."

Kaz, even though Xohasis was serious, actually liked this kind of engagement. He remained silent and picked up the nexus cluster then slowly began forming his tendrils of energy that came to the crystal, and he started to condense the energy within it. During this process the god stared intently, but soon closed his eyes as if he didn't need to watch anymore. Soon Kazz finished the creation of another Nexus Heart.

Before Kaz could say a word, another 1000 nexus clusters fell in front of him.

"You may not realize, but you have an innate gift that even gods don't have. I underestimated you and how much he has given you. You have the innate ability to create, that alone would be amazing, but you also have the ability to create items others could not be able to. I have seen the other weapons, at first I thought you were just resourceful, I realize it's more than just that. Your ability to create is actually much closer to the Author than other gods. I have also seen your ability with space and know of how you use it, your current skills go way beyond that of a being at your level. Now we need to get you to a place that you can flourish, a place to truly grow, You could probably now create a soul with just the amount of soul blossoms I have given you, but I urge you to build your foundation before cementing your soul into this universe, I urge you to refrain so that you can grow strong enough to properly wield your power. I can imagine that right now, you have so much space to improve your abilities, that going to the next level could endanger you more than you realize if you don't have a solid foundation. I can teach you before we leave."

Xohasis's advice hung in the air. Kaz took a moment, processing the gravity of his newfound abilities. He nodded at Xohasis, understanding the need for caution. With Adam beside him, and the world of possibilities ahead, Kaz knew he had much to learn and a clear path to tread.

"How should I build my foundation?"

"There are a few aspects of a god that are made when you combine certain skills, we can all achieve parts of it, but none besides the author has the perfected form. Omniscience, Omnipresence, Omnipotence, Omnivalence, Omnisapience. These have certain characteristics. Omniscience is the power to know all within the universe, Omnipresence is to be anywhere at any time within the universe, Omnipotence is the power to do anything within the universe. Omnivalence is the power of ultimate balance of good and evil, the power to always act accordingly, give life where it's needed and destruction where it's needed, and lastly Omnisapience is the ability to understand everything, or have ultimate wisdom. Normally gods within this universe have difficulties achieving presence, balance and understanding, but we work on the other three and develop them somewhat, but never anywhere near the true thing."

Xohasis put his hand on Kaz's shoulder. "I believe he has chosen you as a successor."
