Students gathered in the courtyard, surrounding four students as they faced off against one another. Three Male students stood on one side and one female student stood on the other. Saitou only smirked as he left his hands in his pockets while Maitou and Kaitou stood in front of him cracking their knuckles and pounding their fists.
On the other end was Cana, glaring daggers at her opposing opponents. Her fist tightened as she eyed them, her anger growing with each passing second.
"So…" Saitou began. "I take it you know what happened to your little friend." He gave a smudge laugh as Cana's Emerald Green eyes narrowed at him. "The little runt was out of his league, and to think; he actually thought he was good enough to fight me." Saitou let off a wholehearted laugh as he thought about what they did to Rakaia.
"I'm going to make sure I make you pay for what you did to Kaia," Cana replied.
"Oh, you're mad because we put the little runt where he belongs?" Saitou retorted. "I don't see why you're upset; we made sure the little brat knew what his calling was." He finished.
"And you think that's funny?" Cana gritted her teeth. "Then you low-life bastards decided to humiliate him more by bragging to school about it!" Cana took a step forward. "What kind of cowards are you?" She yelled at them." First, you pick a fight with some helpless kid and then you gang up on Rakaia, all this time you still haven't fought one on one." Cana returned the smudge look as she put her hands up and got into her own fighting stance. "Beating you three is going to be a cakewalk." She taunted them as she used her hand to gesture them over to her. "Come on; come over here so I can drag your face into the ground."
"The little girl's got spunk," Saitou smirked at her, not fazed at all by her words. "You think you are good enough to take on the three of us. "You could barely take us the first time, what makes you think this will be any different?" Saitou asked her.
"Oh don't worry; you caught us off guard the first time." Cana reminded him. "I won't let that happen again." She replied.
"Saitou let us handle this," Kaitou spoke up, stepping forward.
"Yea, you don't need to get your hands dirty fighting this little girl," Maitou added as he stepped forward with Maitou.
"Oh, you two want to make her sing for the school?" Saitou eyed both of his brothers as he put his hands up and took a step back. "Well then, be my guess; just do me a favor and make sure you put on a good show for everyone ok, you know I hate when we disappoint," Saitou told them as he brought his eyes back down to Cana.
"Oh don't worry Saitou," Kaitou replied. "We'll make sure we give the kiddies here something to remember." He ended.
"Yea, the day the little girl got squashed." Maitou snickered as Cana didn't appear intimidated as she continued to stare at her opponents.
"Well, what are you two boys waiting for?" Cana asked them. " This little girl is right here, or are you scared of getting beat by someone smaller than you." Her fist tightened.
"Why you little…" Maitou gritted his teeth.
"We'll show you!" Kaitou shouted as he charged towards Cana.
Cana saw her opponent as the crowd around her let out a collective gasp as she quickly bent her knees a bit more and braced herself as Kaitou slammed his shoulder into her, trying to run her over but Cana remained standing her foot, stopping the force of Kaitou, but barely.
Not letting up with the young girl, Kaitou tried to swing downward, his fist trying to connect with the side of her face, but Cana quickly leaned her body back, avoiding the strike and returned with a punch of her own.
Kaitou quickly blocked the incoming fist and replied with a few combos of his own, but they were either blocked or dodged and Cana quickly came back with a flurry of punches of kicks. The two traded blows avoiding each other attacks as much as possible until Cana managed to catch Kaitou slipping, catching him in the jaw with a roundhouse kick, causing Kaitou to counter with a leg sweep; sweeping Cana off her feet.
Kaitou immediately tried to stomp the school girl, but Cana quickly kicked her body up, using her hands to propel her body backward performing a handspring. Kaitou growled as he missed his opportunity to finish the small girl. Balling up his fist he charged at Cana again, swinging wildly as he tried to pound her face in.
Cana danced around Kaitou, blocking and dodging as much as she could until she saw an opening of her own; kneeing the opponent in the stomach. Spit left his mouth as she smirked at him as she landed on her left foot to jump back up in the air. "This is for Kaia!" She told him as she spin kicked in the face knocking him to the ground before he quickly recovered.
"You little shit…" He wiped the side of his face as Maitou ran passed him and made a beeline for Cana.
"You're mine you little brat!" He Hollered as Cana quickly narrowed her eyes and charged ahead as well, meeting Maitou in the middle before she stuck her fist out, burying it deep within his stomach. Maitou was caught off guard by Cana's speed as he tried to catch his breath, but Cana continued her attack with a flurry of punches in the stomach before she quickly performed a backflip kick, catching Maitou in the jaw with the top of her foot.
Maitou's body flew in the air, causing Cana to smile as she landed on her feet; but she didn't have time to realize that Kaitou was charging at her again at full speed before he rammed into her, bulldozing her down into the ground.
The crowd remained in shock as she tried to get up, but Kaitou quickly mounted her and forced her to cover up as Kaitou began pounding at her. "What's wrong?" He yelled at her. "What happened to us being scared of you?" He continued to hammer away as Cana tried her best to keep up her defense. "Get up! Get Up! Come on, Get up!" Kaitou shouted at her as he finally broke through Cana's defense and got ready to deal a massive blow to her face.
Cana's eyes widened as she saw his fist coming straight for her face. She was unable to avoid the massive hand that was driving towards her. She looked up and saw the Malicious look Kaitou carried in his eyes as he peered down at her. The crowd of students could only stand by and watch as one of their greatest fear was slowly being recognized. The fear that Cana could be one of them being attacked by the notorious Viper Brothers, upperclassmen that made it a point to attack those who were under them.
While the crowd was too busy watching the fight unveil, they became oblivious to the sounds of running footsteps approaching the fight. Maitou was just picking himself up as he actually caught a glimpse of the newcomer arriving on the scene.
"Huh? What the…" His mind couldn't register what he saw as the image of White sneakers hit the ground.
His eyes looked up to see who the sneakers belong to as he saw the girl that showed them up after they ambushed Rakaia the night before. He saw her body as she leaped up in the air twisting her body as she stuck her leg out, aiming at the side of Kaitou's face. "Kaitou look out!" Maitou screamed.
"Go to sleep you little…" Kaitou couldn't finish his sentence as the bottom of Luna's foot connected with Kaitou's face blasting him off of Cana as Luna landed in front of her, glaring hatefully at both Maitou and Kaitou.
Cana was prepared to be hit but realized the blow never came. Slowly, sitting up she saw Luna in front of her. "Lu…Luna." Cana called out in surprise.
Luna didn't look back at her, but she replied. "Happy that I got in the way?" She asked her as she kept her eyes on the two boys that stood up to oppose them.
Cana couldn't help but nod her head as she stood up beside Luna, her eyes facing their opponents as well. "Thanks for showing up, I thought he really had me there." She told her as Luna side glances her way.
"Can you go for round 2?" She asked her.
Cana couldn't help but side glance towards Luna.
"Do you need to ask?" She replied as both girls stood beside each other as both Kaitou and Maitou regained their composure and readied themselves.
"Oh, you just made a big mistake," Kaitou growled.
"Yea, this time; we're not going to let you walk away," Maitou added as the four combatants prepared themselves as they got ready to launch their own respective assaults.
-Mariko's Office-
"What!" Mariko screamed at a few female students standing in front of her. She slammed her palms onto the top of her desk. "How long as this been going on?" She asked, clearly expressing her frustration at the shocking news that she just received.
"It just started Ms. Imuran." One of the female students responded. "Cana went looking for them and when she found them they…" She tried to continue her story, but Mariko was already putting two and two together.
"I can't believe this." She growled. "Where are they?" She interrupted them.
"The courtyard…" The other student replied. "If you don't hurry and do something Cana could get hurt."
Mariko gritted her teeth at the sudden development. "Dammit, I don't have time to deal with this." She quickly came from around her desk, staring down at the two students that told her the news. "You two go back to your class, I'll take care of this." She stated as both students looked up at her, nodding her head as Mariko left her office.
"I told all of you that there will be no school fights unless it was administered." Mariko gritted her teeth as her thoughts ran through her head as she made her way down the hall. "There's nothing more stressing than a bunch of hard-headed kids who don't listen. " She mentally spoke to herself as she picked up the pace. "I swear, once this is all over all of you are going to be in so much trouble!" She screamed as the remaining students in the school stood idly by as Mariko charged down the hallway at full speed as a very angry principal.
-Back at the Courtyard-
Both Cana and Luna squared off against Kaitou and Maitou. The intense glares that were given made the teenage spectator's spine tremble. The tension between the two groups was undoubtedly noticeable as both Luna and Cana stood side by side waiting for the right moment to strike.
"Well now, I was wondering when you would actually show up," Saitou spoke behind his brothers with his arms crossed. "It actually saves us the trouble of looking for you." He spoke, his words directed towards Luna.
Luna narrowed her eyes at him as Saitou couldn't help but let out a dark chuckle. "Still though, I'm glad you're here." He told her. "Now we can sweeten the deal and embarrass the both of you and show the school what happens when you step out of line with us." He stated.
His brothers began to snicker along with him. "That's right, the friend of that annoying runt and a professional XMA fighter who lost her touch, what better way to remind people that we are the best fighters at this school by whipping on the two of you." He finished as both Cana and Luna looked at each other and then brought their eyes back to Saitou.
"Is that so?" Luna replied. "I guess you wouldn't mind getting in the ring with me then, at least you can try to back up your words one on one." She threw out as Saitou remained behind his brothers. "You know, you'll be by yourself and everyone will get a chance to see how you really fight, why don't we make it official?" Luna added as Saitou couldn't help but laugh at her suggestion.
"Me? Fight you? Now that's rich." He laughed.
"Why would I waste my time going one on one with a washed-up celebrity?" Saitou stated as he quickly glanced over at Maitou's way who quickly caught it and realized what Saitou was planning to do.
"Figured as much," Luna replied as Cana glanced over in her direction.
"Sounds like he's scared of getting his butt whooped," Cana responded to her statement.
"Guess we're going to have to do this the hard way. Oh well, I preferred this anyway; why wait." Cana prepared herself as she got back into her fighting stance.
Luna nodded her head and followed suit as she prepared herself as well. "Let's make this quick." She added as both Kaitou and Maitou continued to snicker at them.
"You two girls are in for a world of hurt," Kaitou stated. "If you would have just stayed out of our business then we wouldn't have to hurt you."
"You talk too much…" Cana replied. "I'll be sure to fix that." She added.
"Why you snot nose little…" Kaitou was getting really sick of Cana's smart remarks towards him. "I'll make sure to pound that face of yours into the ground!" He shouted as he charged towards her. Maitou followed suit.
"Here they come," Luna stated as they both made sure they were ready. Kaitou charged at Cana and tried to shoulder block her again, but Cana predicted his movements; which she easily dodged.
"You're not still trying that same trick are you?' She had her attention fixed on Kaitou, while Luna was waiting for Maitou to get within range for her to defend herself.
She eyed Maitou intently, but something seemed off to her. She saw Maitou smirk as he locked eyes with her. "He's planning something?" Her mind raced. She saw him charging towards her, his armed reared back as he balled up his fist.
She sized him up, his large body was massive compared to the smaller brother that attacked Cana, but Luna wasn't going to back down because of sheer size alone. "If you're coming in for a head-on attack then you're…" Luna's words were cut short as Maitou quickly veered off from her and charged towards Cana. "Huh? Oh no!" Luna exclaimed as she realized what was going on. "Cana! Look out!" Luna shouted as she tried to turn attention back to Maitou, but Saitou came immediately after and attempted to catch Luna by surprise, but he missed his jump kick and landed in front of her and began to throw a fury of punches her way.
"Don't you think you need to worry about yourself?" He questioned her methods as they both went blow for blow, but he was quickly pushing Luna on the receiving end.
"Luna!" Cana yelled as she managed to catch a glimpse of Saitou attacking Luna.
"Don't let your guard down!" Maitou shouted at her as he caught Cana's attention as he tried to bash Cana's face in, but she barely was able to sidestep the massive brute, before she tried to retaliate.
Cana delivered a punch to Maitou's stomach again, but Maitou quickly slapped her hand away and countered with his own. The two went back and forth as Cana continued to use her stamina to jump around his blows and avoid most of his power strikes. Maitou, however; continued his assault pushing Cana back the same way Luna was having her hands full with Saitou.
"What's wrong little girl?" Maitou continued his assault as Cana was now unable to dodge and could only try to block his attack." You seem to be getting slower." Maitou taunted as he had Cana on the receiving end of his blows as he finally broke through her defenses. "How about a strong arm." He tried to clothesline Cana's head off, but she managed to duck his attack and deliver a hard kick to the back of his head sending him stumbling forward.
She landed on her feet, but she didn't have time to regain her composure before Kaitou came and delivered a hard kick to the side of her face, sending the smallest girl sprawling into the ground, but Cana quickly recovered from his attack and charged in.
Meanwhile, Luna was still matching Saitou's attacks blow for blow, but her growing concern for Cana continued to waver her attention as she continued to glance over in Cana's direction. "I can't spend too much time on this guy." She spoke with her thoughts. "I have to get over to Cana before it's too late." She continued to think.
"What's wrong pro fighter?' Saitou smirked at her as he continued to try to break through Luna's defenses. "You look a little distracted." He continued to taunt her as Luna could only glare at him as he began to pick up his speed and continued to his assault with a barrage of punches and kicks that Luna was barely able to keep up with.
He tried to go for Luna's face, but Luna managed to block with her arm and retaliate with a punch of her own, but Saitou caught her arm and instinctively tried to sling her over his shoulder. His throw was successful as Luna landed on her back. Saitou then tried to follow up with his fist and finish Luna off with a punch to her face, but Luna quickly kicked her body up, using her legs to push her feet up towards Saitou's face, but he managed to avoid the attack just in time.
Luna quickly flipped to her feet and charged at Saitou again. Saitou tried to catch Luna in the face with another right hand, but Luna quickly ducked his attack and delivered a hard kick to his midsection. Spit quickly shot out of Saitou's mouth but he quickly growled at Luna and grabbed her leg. "Oh no, you don't!" Luna shouted as she quickly twisted her body and used her other leg to kick Saitou in the face, staggering him for a moment.
Luna quickly landed on her feet and charged towards her opponent. She got within range with Saitou's defenses completely down. "I hope you know, this is really going to hurt." She warned him as she got within Saitou's range and delivered a hard punch to his face, sending him bouncing off the ground, but he regained his composure, his hands dragging against the dirt covered ground, unknown to Luna that he grabbed a hand full of dirt. Luna on the other hand completely diverted her attention to Cana who was on the receiving In of a tag team attack as both Kaitou and Maitou were kicking and punching the school girl around, knocking her to the ground every time she stood. "Cana!" Luna was about to try and help the young girl.
"I'm not done with you!" Saitou shouted causing Luna to turn around to see him charging towards her.
A growl escaped her lips. "You just don't know when to stay down." She charged at him as well. The two made their way towards each other as Luna quickly dove in and went low with a slide attempt to take out Saitou's leg, but Saitou quickly jumped over her but not without throwing the dirt that he clawed from the ground in her face, momentarily blinding her.
"Ahh, my eyes!" Luna stood up but staggered as she tried to wipe some of the dirt from her face.
"You're wide open!" Saitou shouted as he charged in strong and caught Luna in the stomach, pushing her body up off the ground by a few inches before knocking her into the ground with another punch to the side of her face. Luna tried to pick herself up as she made it to her hands and knees, but Saitou wasn't going to allow the girl to regain herself as he ran towards her and delivered a hard kick to her stomach, lifting her up off the ground again as she screamed in pain.
"That's what I like to hear" Saitou stated as Luna quickly covered her stomach as Saitou continued to kick her around. "Come on keep screaming!" Saitou stated as he quickly picked Luna up by her shirt and kicked her away again, sending her body rolling onto the ground before it stopped at a nearby tree.
"Luna!" Cana shouted as she tried to get up, but Maitou placed his foot on her back, pushing her back into the ground.
"You're not going anywhere." Maitou laughed at her as Cana tried to get up but exhaustion caught up with her.
"Yea, just sit back and enjoy the show." Kaitou stepped in. "Feels like the first time we met, doesn't it?" He reminded her how they held her down the first time they fought and made her watch as Saitou got the best of her best friend, Rakaia.
She gritted her teeth as she struggled against her captors. "Get…Off…Of me." But Maitou added pressure on her back, keeping her on the ground.
Luna was able to pick her body up as she leaned her body back, slumped up against the tree that she rolled into. Her right arm was holding her stomach as she finally managed to regain her eyesight, but the damage had already been done. She was breathing heavily as she was trying to catch her breath. She bared her teeth at Saitou.
"Dammit, I shouldn't have been so careless." She thought as Saitou stood in front of her. "I can't even help Cana out in this situation, I shouldn't have let me guard down." She continued to think as Saitou grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and delivered a hard gut shot to Luna, causing her to scream again.
"Yea that's it!" Saitou shouted as he made sure the entire courtyard watched as Luna was constantly punched in the stomach. "Keep screaming! I want everyone to hear it!" Saitou screamed at her as he knocked her back down against the tree.
"Luna!" Cana continued to struggle against her two captors, but to no avail once again. She clenched her fist and pounded the ground as tears streamed down her face as she was forced to watch yet again, someone else that she couldn't help get beat in front of her. "Luna! No, stop it! Get away from her!" Cana screamed as Kaitou quickly placed his foot down on top of her head and stomped down.
"Keep quiet!" Kaitou yelled at her as Cana tried to endure the newfound pain that she felt on the top of her head and face as she silently cried in the dirt.
Luna just looked up at Saitou as he grabbed her by the collar of her shirt again. She gave him the nastiest look that she could muster. Her eyes full of anger as he pulled his hand back again. "This is where you go to sleep; maybe you'll know your place when you wake up," Saitou smirked at her as the crowd watched as he was getting ready to deliver the final blow. "Hmph, some prized fighter." He added an extra insult before he threw his hand towards her face.
Luna could only watch for a slight second before closed her eyes and waited to feel pain explode from her face. There was a loud clap sound as Saitou's hand made contact, but Luna didn't feel any pain. In fact, she didn't feel Saitou gripping her shirt anymore. She knew someone was still standing in front of her, but she didn't know who. She reopened her eyes to see Rakaia standing in front of her, her body leaning against the tree again as her eyes followed Saitou's fist.
She noticed that Saitou's hand never strayed off course. His fist was encased in Rakaia's hand that stretched out in front of her, protecting her from a blow that would have clearly knocked her out.
Saitou growled as Rakaia stood in between him and Luna with him still holding his fist with his hand, stopping his attack completely. "You…You!" Saitou glared. "I thought we took care of you." He added as Rakaia just sent a glare back at him without letting his hand go.
"From now on…You're fighting me." Rakaia returned the growl as his facial expression showed nothing but anger and seriousness as the two glared at each other, leaving the surrounding crowd watching as another fight was about to unfold.
