Chapter 7 - En route to East wind

''Young master, are you sure about this?'' A-Lin tapped Guan Fei's shoulder. ''What If lord Guan finds out?'' she sounded worried.

''Shh...'' Guan Fei hushed her and reverted her gaze to the guard pacing here and there near the small wooden gate. ''A-Lin, no need to worry. I'll be back in one shichen.(2 hours). I promise to be here for the dinner.'' she whispered back trying to assure A-Lin.

They were squatting behind a wall in the back yard of Guan mansion looking for an opportunity for Guan Fei to pass through the gate. But the burly guard at the gate seemed doesn't intending to move away soon.

''Young master, why don't you crawl through the dog hole. I bet no one is there at this hour.'' A-Lin whispered again impatiently.

Guan Fei glanced askance at her. ''Do you regard Your young master as a dog? I'll never crawl through such a petty place. Just distract him a little. I'll manage to pass through.''

''All right. I'll distract him.'' A-Lin nodded affirmatively and bent closer to whisper in her ear. ''Young master, be careful. Don't get caught by minister Cao's guards. ''

''what?'' Guan Fei turned back at A-Lin in irritation but she was gone. Guan Fei could only stomp her feet on the ground soundlessly.

Soon A-Lin appeared at the other end of the back yard. She walked few steps before pretending to trip and fall to the ground. Then she grasped her ankle and started groaning in a pitiful tone that was loud enough to bring the guard to her. The guard kneeled beside A-Lin, facing his back to the gate and tried to check her sprain. Guan Fei quickly dashed through the gate at that instant.

''OHH, brother Chen, don't touch. Ahh, It hurts.'' Guan Fei laughed silently at A-lin's fake wailings that even reached the outside side of the wall. -This little rabbit is truly something!- She made a mental note in amusement and headed to her destination without further delaying.

Although she appeared calm and collected in front of A-Lin, she was very restless from the inside. In her past life she never dared to do such things. In the face of every problem she had to face, she only retreated like a snail in a shell. But now it was more like she was forced to pursue this path out of fear of death. This bravery was a newfound thing. So she kept praying to all gods to let nothing go wrong tonight.

She pushed her way through the great bustle of town. The busy city under setting the sun created a pleasant illusion. She felt like she was in side a scene of a live historical drama. But at the same time being the introvert she was, she did feel as if all her energy was draining out. But she had a serious business which her life depended on to take care .So nevertheless she collected her courage and headed to the two storied, sumptuous building decorated with red lanterns.

In the name plate it read 'Dong Feng' .

-HEHE, not a typical brothel name.is it?-
