Anna's P. O. V

I'm Anna aka Ananya Roy. I'm a first year college student in Swami Vivekananda University in Mumbai. It is one of the most prestigious college in our city, only rich and intelligent students gets admission in this college. I'm from a middle class family but because of my grades in school and also because of my hard work, I will be able to study in this famous college and get a nice job.

Although my career will be settled after studying in this college but, I'm not happy. If my friends knew that, they would say something such as " Are you mad! You're saying that you're not happy after getting admission in a prestigious college and knowing that your career will be settled. " Although I don't have to hear this from anyone because I haven't told anyone about this nor about my dreams. Not even my parents know about my dreams.

Talking of my parents, do they really think of me as their child? Can't blame them for that, they want the best for me and not only them, all Indian parents are like that.

Let's move on from my parents to me, me? I'm an 18 years old girl who likes to listen songs and sing in her free times. I like to sing; yeah, that's my hobby and that's what I like to do. I want to become a singer.

" Keep dreaming Anna, your parents will never allow you to become a singer. They wants you to become a doctor or an engineer. " I was telling all that to myself while looking at my reflection in the mirror.

As I was daydreaming I heard my mom saying " What is the timing of your college, do you want me to make lunch? " As soon as I heard her I looked at the time. I only have half an hour to get ready. I answered my mom " Yeah, make the lunch for me and I will leave for college after half an hour. "

Today was the first day of my college that is why I was nervous, cause I am an unsocial person. I only talk with peoples who are close to me or that I have known them for a long time. And that's the reason I had problems making friends in my school life.

I got ready in 20 minutes, I went to dining room and finished my lunch in 8 minutes. Luckily I'll reach on time. I left for college.
