Chapter 3 - The hunt part 2

—There's one more inside the cart.-Says the coyote seeing the light inside the cart.

—I can finish him off in the blink of an eye!-Says the eagle snapping his fingers.

—No - Says the crow descending and with him a fox and a wolf jump from the tree walking beside him, the wolf keeps the bow on his back and the fox walked with the weight of a beast almost its size in his hands.

—Burn the bodies.-Says the crow in order to all who nod and begin to burn them.

Inside the cart, the man and the girl exchanged aggressive looks until they heard a knock, knock.

—What was there? Why did we stop?-He asks, realizing only now that they had stopped.

When he opens it, the crow kicks the man into the cart making him fall to the ground, he enters closing the door behind him, the crow steps on the man's chest and pulls out a dagger placing it beside the neck of the nobleman who is quickly paralyzed when everything happened, the girl couldn't stay calm, she cowered in the corner of the cart, the crow glances at her but focuses on the nobleman.

—A noble vampire and a mermaid princess? Why do I think this is not a common thing?-He asks, his voice rough and hoarse making him more menacing.

—The black crow? I thought it was a legend!-Says the Noble in obvious panic.

He was sweating cold as he stared into the raven's eyes, vivid violets that glowed behind the mask.

—An A-human!- Says the lord with a thin voice now, the girl goes pale when he hears that, she shrank back as much as she could, and tried to protect herself by putting her face on her legs and her hands on her neck.

—Legends are real. Now tell me, where are you taking these things? Why did they steal the ruins of Taigar?" His tone made it obvious that this was personal.

—I'm a lord, look we can make a deal, I'll give you all the gold you want! These things are a pittance next to what I can give you! - He realizes that it didn't seem to interest the crow —We can make a deal, i'm going to marry her so i'll make a deal with the sea kingdom, not that i expect a child to understand, but this is important! And if you kill me, many soldiers will come hunting you!-He says.—But everything can be resolved, I'll say it was a misunderstanding and let's each follow their course. -He says, trying another strategy.

—So you are someone important in?-Says the crow with a tone that made the lord despair.

—A-And if I give you the girl?-The lord realizes that it made the crow move a little.—You are a teenager aren't you? A pretty girl like that, don't you care?

The crow is silent, the girl starts to tremble afraid the crow will accept.

—She?-Says the crow with a tone that the lord could not distinguish if he liked the idea or not.

—Yes, you are their leader aren't you? I heard about you guys, you're all boys aren't you? I bet they need a girl!-He notices that the crow released him.-Great, stay with her and let's forget about it.

The crow takes the lord's foot off.

—Did you touch her?-He asks with a serious tone.

—No, she is pure! One hundred percent!-He says as if he were selling a piece of merchandise.

The crow looks at the girl, as if expecting her to say that.

—You can trust me, she wouldn't be worth anything if she wasn't pure until the wedding!-He says with a certainty that made the crow believe.

—Right - He says looking at the lord who was getting up, but something pushes him down, a black shadow holds him on the floor of the cart.

—What is that?! We have an agreement, don't we?! Let me go!-screams the lord trying to get loose.

—Do you think a girl is a commodity? She is not an object! -He yells looking really nervous.

The man begins to feel a sharp pain, his veins are visible throughout his body.

—How many girls have you sold? How many have you lost your soul?! How many have you touched with those filthy hands of yours?!- He screams making the man feel more and more pain.

Its visible red veins turn black as if a poison has spread through its body.

—How many?! How old were they?!-The girl looks at them still scared but not believing she heard that.

The lord's screams grew louder, his eyes had gone black and a black goo was coming out of them, from his ears and nose. She looks at the crow, his eyes were black and violet.

—YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE A SOUL!-He says, finishing off the lord, sticking the dagger in his chest, spouting a black energy that breaks the carriage's roof, when the girl finds the courage to look at the lord, he looked extremely old as if his life had been consumed from him.

—The world will be better without you.- He says with an angry voice as he stood up and cleaned his dagger.

He guards her and the girl's chains magically break, she looks at him surprised and impressed, her eyes sparkled watching the boy.

—Go away, but don't go north, go west to the river, if you follow he'll reach the ocean.-He says looking directly at her.

—Aren't you going to kill me?-She asks with a sweet voice.-Or stay with me?

—I don't kill for no reason. And you are not an object for me to take possession of. Get away from here.- He raises his hand and the door opposite him opens, she looks out and then at him.

—Will I see you again?-She asks with fear.

—And why would you want that? -He asks without understanding, the girl gives a smile leaving him even more confused and runs out the door.
